Strange to watch the supposedly non-partisan leader of Canada’s civil service say that there was non “undue” or “inappropriate” pressure on the attorney general to give a sweetheart deal to SNC-Lavalin but he doesn’t deny there was pressure.

    Oh come on Kate.Enough with the oxycontin er oxymorons. The Canadian civil service is a Liberal creation and serves Liberal interests (in the Canadian sense) and is naturally socialist as it expects to solve all problems of Canadian society with aother program.

    1. Absolutely right, Robert. I was an ON civil servant for 30 years, had lots of contact and interactions with the feds. They were and still are overwhelmingly big L liberal supporters. No one in Ottawa gets to the top echelons unless they are both progressive and a Liberal sympathizer. Not a whole lot better in ON, but not near as bad as in Ottawa.

  8. Sounds like everyone agreed before hand what the preferred outcome was before the legislation was stuffed into the omnibus budget bill.
    Then when the preferred outcome didn’t happen as hoped those in a position to cause grief for the minister started pestering her why not i.e. pressure.
    If the legislation is written that states clearly the AG is not to be asked then this guy is guilty, and I want to stress that statement is premised on “if” the law actually states that.

    If anyone is in real danger, it would be someone from the Right, not our beloved PM. Some Sikh still pissed off over Air India might take a crack at Jagmeet Singh,IF he wins in Burnaby.

    Today the clerk of the privy council said pressure was applied.

    Someone is lying.

    If nothing inappropriate happened then why won’t Turdeau release JWR from solicitor-client privilege? Answer there is something or things that Turdeau is afraid will come out.

  14. So the justice minister was pressured to let SNC Lavolin off the hook, which is criminal, and now the punted justice minister is going to let the PM and Butthead off the hook, essentially doing for them what she was pressured to do for SNC.

    If she thinks that she was pressured then the Goddamn RCMP should be investigating it, instead she cuts a deal with Trudeau so he and Butts avoid jail for their crimes.
    They’re all rotten scumbags.

  20. At what point in time was it decided to include the DPA legislation as part of the budget omnibus bill?
    Who decided to include it?
    Was its inclusion in the budget bill an expectation that it would be used to ensure SNC’s ability to bid on government contracts?
    Was this expectation clearly stated at the outset, or was it an open secret?
    Suggested or not, such an action could be deemed interfering in the prosecution process.
    Furthermore, because such an expectation is for economic reasons, it would not qualify, anyone that had read the legislation would have known that.
    The fact that they where advocating for the DPA after the decision was made qualifies as interfering in the process.
    Had they asked how the prosecution was progressing they would not have crossed a line.
    The fact that they where imposing on JWR to change a decision is proof of interference.
    Its just a matter now of finding out how many where involved.

    9,000 jobs? How many jobs have been vaporized in western Canada by these bozos? SNC jobs aren’t worth anything in any case. all they do is government work, which does not add to the national income, it just moves tax money from one part of the country to another. Western energy jobs are real economy multipliers, with private investment.

  22. Yes, I was amused. He described repeated pressure on the AG to let the criminals walk but said it was not undue pressure. Everyone was harping on her. If the Liberal criminals wanted to let their criminal friends walk, why didn’t they decriminalize bribery of foreign officials? But no – they just wanted their friends to walk, not the other guys. I guess the proof is in the pudding. When she didn’t respond to criminal interference, she was demoted.

  24. This morning on CBC news world, Wernick is being treated as if he was the second coming of Jesus and Allah together. The silly grins on the faces of the hosts and commenters clearly states,” we have been exonerated! There is NO doubting the word of this noble semi-deity!”

    The LPC had to find a credible (in the minds of the msm) person to commit a whitewash,and they found him, in spades. The guy’s figurative blowjob to the PM and the PMO, along with his veiled threat to firearms owners, was sickening to watch,but the reportage this morning was even worse.

    Wernick will receive a patronage appointment that will stagger the imagination of a mere civil servant. G-G? Senate,at the very least.
