Another foreign oil company says it’s getting out of the Canadian oilsands.
Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy Corp. announced after markets closed Tuesday that it will pursue the “separation” of its Canadian assets and its Barnett Shale holdings in Texas from its core business.

Anyone that can’t see Liberal policies HAVE caused irreparable damage to this country needs mental help. There are stories like this one that make me think it is already to late.
Wherein a Trudeau-dependent Senator from Alberta helps slag Kenney: https://twitter.com/Paulatics/status/1098629960296775680.
Such independence the Senate has never known!
Albertans (westerners) are a bunch of fuhcking sissies. I lived there for 20 years and they are a bunch of spineless fuhcks! You want to get their attention? Blockade the roads moving into/out of BC. Blockade the railroad down in the crows nest pass, nothing gets to or from the port of Vancouver. Let it rot in the containers at the dock. Stage sit ins at major gas and oil hubs so that the oil and gas companies have to shut in those hubs for “public safety.” Burn the muthafuhcker down you weak kneed arseholes.
Announce we are having a Jamboree starting May long weekend that will include the above mentioned protests. Invite everyone with a camper or trailer to come down and party right thru Labour day. See how they like it!!
They (easterners/liberals) hate your fuhcking guts. They are not your fellow countrymen. They are your enemy. Wake the fuhck up and start burning sh!t to the ground. Raze anything that belongs to the feds.
But you won’t because you’re a bunch of cowards.
I digress.
Viva La Separation!!!
Bang on! You cannot get it spelt out any more clearly than Bill 69. AB & SASK have to deal with downstream impacts but not eastern Canada and particularly the oil refineries in Montreal that bring in Saudi and Venezula crude. The worst thing that can happen is some kind of compromise that leaves a difference between how the east is treated and the West.
Notley has pussy footed around the action needed to bring this to a head. Yes, road and rail blockades are a start. Get control of the cash flow by collecting ALL taxes inside AB. Bring Equalization to a head as in end it.
I cannot disagree with you at all.
Convoys to Ottawa and what did you expect..??
Roses thrown in your path.?
All ya got for your efforts was A Complete and TOTAL refusal to acknowledge our concerns….Scheer/ Bernier notwhitstanding. The only thing the MSMedia did was what they always do. Call us RACISTS, White Supremists, Rubber booted Cowboys, Red Necks ….. what they really mean is that we Are the Gutter SLIME of the PLANET and yes, they Absolutely Fucking HATE us.
Well the Feeling is Mutual ….
Bring on a REFERNDUM STAT. 2 Trudeaus in one lifetime is more than anyone should have to put up with.
Well,”glenardo” you go ahead and start the arson. It’s easy to be a keyboard warrior/revolutionary, much more difficult in reality.
Chairman Mao wasn’t a Canadian.
North Korea, the USSR and Venezuela went according to plan: Starve out the opposition.
$$$$$$ = political power … hence the “transformation” of Western economies into “green” (read: “Red”) policies. Consumer $$$$$ is transferred to leftists working in government and alternative energy. Thus creating much larger political donations $$$$$. Unemployed conservatives will not be able to compete $$$$$.
Something tells me the cash economy in Alberta and Saskatchewan will explode in the next year. Any way of keeping money out of the hands of the government will be employed to avoid the exorbitant taxes charged by governments at all levels. The Black Market in cannabis will have a massive influx of money, and flourish. That does not bode well for the new industry that was apparently supposed to replace the oil industry. Oops, Juthtin f%#@$ked up, AGAIN!!!!
True. Although the next step in the Jesuit plan is then to implement currency controls. It worked for them when they did it in North Korea, the USSR, and Venezuela.
Make Alberta Great Again!
We need to punt the NDP/Liberals.
Then, get Sask/AB to hold a referendum.
Nuf said…..
Yes, Lance we need to hold a referendum for starters. The West has overpaid the East in excess. This bloodletting has to end.
On March 20,1869 Britain forced the Hudson’s Bay Company to sell Rupert’s Land to Canada for $1.5 million. That’s ~ $27.8 million in today’s dollars. Quite a bargain considering that the Americans were looking for property to expand their Republic after buying Alaska in 1867 for $7.2 million.
This 150th anniversary date is a very special date for Ottawa, not so much for Rupert’s Land. We, in Western Canada, ought to announce a referendum day forthwith on this date then hold one within one year. Perhaps July 1st would be appropriate, then separate from them after that.
We send billions to Ottawa annually, in exchange for bad government. We can do better. We need to shuck them.

Go ahead and hold a referendum, but don’t expect any help from any politicians. Why would any of them advocate against a system that has done very well for them?
If a real referendum was held, I doubt more than 20% of Westerners would vote to separate. I may be wrong,so go ahead with the referendum and let’s see.
As I keep harping on this site, revolutions are not started by comfortable people and usually not very nice people, but they have to have the support of a goodly percentage of the peasantry before there is any chance of success. Talk of separation/revolution will be met with a big yawn or the old,”fuck off”.
We haven’t raised a bunch of Fidel Castros,Ho Chih Minhs or Chairman Maos, just a numerous bunch of Andrew Scheers, Gerry Butts, Rachel Notleys and Christie Clarks, not a revolutionary in the whole bunch.
Oh,and for anyone who believes Jody Wilson-Raybould is Canada’s Joan of Arc, you gave got to quit putting LSD into your morning coffee.
The people need to hold their own referenda.
Asking the politicians to do so will be like letting the foxes into all the hen houses in Rupert’s Land.
When we get to be starving like Venezuela, and the other countries come to our rescue, they will then own us.
What do you propose?
Please refer to PO’ed in AB ‘s excellent post in the next thread. He has been posting some excellent ideas for years. Hopefully one day the children of tomorrow will take heed.
You will need your own provincial police force and remove the federals. Go independent on every ting you can before you leave.
True. But unfortunately Special Ed Stelmach signed a multi-decade agreement for the RCMP to police Alberta.
Perhaps step one should be to root out Freemasons and other treasonous scum from society, starting first with politicians, lawyers, police, judges, and public servants.
Does this mean Justin won’t be invited to the homosexual parade this summer in Calgary??
Nope. He will just wear a studded leather thong in … solidarity … (so to speak).
Join the US.
We’ll give Ottawa Chicago, Detroit, Albany. Life times of paper shuffling, code revisions, vision statements, 5-year plans….
Real Canada making real things can join up with us deploribals in fly over country.
WHY on Fkn Earth would we want to Trade in being under the yoke of an Arrogant Eastern Govt $1 Trillion in the shitter for being under the yoke of another Arrogant Eastern Based Govt $20 Trillion in the Shitter.????
I’m Quite sure I dont like being RAPED…. you.?
ASSININE abject STUPIDITY.
The Oil SANDS beong to US….and it is Us that should develop and reap ALL the Benefits from said Develpment.
I envision a Sovereign Alberta/Sask initially who would ask Mb, NWT & the Yukon to join us. That would give us 3 Viable options for Tidewater and an instant Resource Rich nation – One WE control…not by some Easteren Carpet Bagging Leftist Bastards….whose sole preoccupation is the destruction of our country. A sovereign Country with a constitution based on the US model, replete with 1st-2nd amendments to start and an IRON Clad garantee of Property Rights and the right To defend said property/persons.
yea, I know, we def need to get some groundwork done..agreed, but the time is coming SOON, where we either shit or get of the POT..
Dig into the story – and the reasons they cite leaving the oilsands – it was in part because of the provincial restrictions placed on exports. Those restrictions were first proposed by Jason Kenney.
Yes the LPC is the primary reason for Alberta’s woes.
But Jason Kenney has made a bad situation worse. There were alternatives to restricting exports…
The oil that is piped to Hardisty Alberta where it has to be loaded into a rail tank because there’s no pipeline doesn’t all come from Fort Mac. Oil is oil whether it is pumped out of the ground or recovered from the oil sands.
All oil producers are hurt by the stupid and despicable policies of our Liberal government.
” All oil producers are hurt by the stupid and despicable policies of our Liberal government.”
…and NDP in Alberta as seen in the report from Sheila Gunn-Reid of Rebel News.
The name Gerald Butts ring a bell?
True Dough the 1st bought railcars for the farmer’s grain.
True Dough the 2nd doesn’t care about the oil and gas industries.
Here’s a timeline of how separation could happen:
-Alberta becomes a sovereign nation circa 2025.
-Quebec is jealous of Albertans balls in actually doing it. Not getting nearly as much equalization, they too separate within a couple years.
-BC is now stranded on the left coast, and is basically forced to separate from the rest of Canada whether they like it or not.
-Saskatchewan and probably Manitoba decide they’d rather be ruled by Edmonton than Ottawa, and petition to join Greater Alberta.
-The NWT and Yukon also throw their lot in with Greater Alberta, while Nunavut becomes an independent nation under US protection.
-Newfoundland and a 3-province federation of the Maritimes also become independent nations. Ontario, all alone now, reluctantly forms its own nation as well.
-The BC interior, with little in common with the coast, separates from the rest of BC and petitions to join Greater Alberta.
-Greater Alberta reorganizes itself as the Federation of Western Canada, made up of 7 equal provinces: Northern Alberta, Southern Alberta, Interior BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba., NWT and Yukon.
And they all lived happily ever after (except for coastal BC and everything east of Manitoba).
