ABC Sources: Police investigating whether Jussie Smollett staged attack with help of others, allegedly being written off ‘Empire’

A CBS Chicago reporter broke the news Thursday evening that the home of the two “persons of interests” in the widely circulated community alert was raided by Chicago police. In that raid, they seized a list of items including multiple containers of bleach, a “red hat,” an Empire script, a Mossberg rifle, and two computers. The home is occupied by the two men, and at least one is an extra on Jussie Smollett’s show, Empire. The pair left for their home country of Nigeria immediately after the “attack.”

  1. He has no future as a writer, director, or producer … his feature performance fell flat. It was impossible to suspend my disbelief from the very first scene … and by the time we saw him eating an intact, unsullied Subway sandwich … it was over.

  7. The fact that the producers of Empire had to issue a statement claiming they had full confidence in Smollett is bad news—for Smollett.

    He’ll be out the minute Chicago’s finest are ready to make a case against him. When, not if.

    The graveyards are full of indispensable men and irreplaceable actors. Smollett might ask his fellow pervert Kevin Spacey.

  8. The two potential attackers are Nigerian. This only gets better. Strange that Nigerians would make comments usually made by white racists. Maybe those really were Make Nigeria Great Again hats and his inner city education failed him. “Hey guys, do you want to come up to my place for some black ass?” “Boff! Boot! Thump!”

  10. I thought his interview on tv where he was wearing a chest full of black power and aberrant freak war medals might have tipped things his way and put him in the safe zone. He blew it by forgetting to brush his teeth to mask the scent of nigerian phallic odor during the police interview.

    I’m assuming it’s like Canada and the police have to say what crime they believe they will get evidence of.

    IE did they put assault or the American equivalent of public mischief.
