I agree, it is odd that he wants you to leave your hate outside while the hatred inside the restaurant is rampant. He has already demonstrated and tweeted his hatred and believed that his customers and staff agreed with him, something happened pretty quickly that proved that his premise was false. I would like to think that it was his staff but it was likely that his regulars are not so regular now that they know that he might be spitting in their food before serving it if he suspects that they arent woke enough! He might have an influx of woke supporters but that will likely die off, it will be interesting to see how this plays out as people vote with their wallet. I have thought about a T-Shirt that has the trademarks of all the “progressive businesses” that have come out against the moderates and those who are to the right of them and each trademark would have the circle and slash through it – we could call it the Redneck shopping checklist…. I already vote with my wallet and will never patronize Starbucks or shop at Dicks again.

Just a few blocks away from my son’s duplex in San Mateo. We will NOT be dining at this shithole when celebrating birthdays or just hanging out. Plenty of options in the cute old downtown SM. But truth be told, I would expect 97% of the local restaurant owners agree with this shithead leftist fkcu.

My kids swear by sous vide, and gifted me with a nice iPhone driven model this past Christmas. The only thing I’ve done up in it was a rib eye steak. Turned out wonderful. However sous vide cooking reminds me of “renewable” energy. The wind and solar produce wonderfully “cheap” “plentiful” energy … until they don’t … which makes ALL “renewable” energy sources require fossil fuel backup. The analogy? My gray, unappetizing rib eye needed to be “finished” in a grill pan to make the thing look appetizing and to give it the tasty crust of a conventionally cooked steak. Seems a bit cumbersome … and trendy. Shhhhhh … don’t tell my kids.
OTOH … I could tell you how GREAT my Fissler pressure cooker works

Just checked the supply of duck legs for a confit. No boiling in a bag of water but you do need a good supply of duck fat.
It’s actually hypocritical to be supportive of say, a baker refusing to bake a cake for a gay marriage while being opposed to a Democrat who wants to ban symbolic Trump supporters from his restaurant. It may not be consistent with existing “non-discrimination” laws but it is consistent with property rights that the owner should be able to decide (whether rationally or not) whom he chooses to serve. Markets, however have a way of sorting things out to determine optimal standards in such things without the need for the heavy and dead hand of the state getting involved. When a business that close to the consumer goes against the axiom that the “customer is always right”, good luck. Republican’s reactions made it a little uncomfortable for the owner (he may have lost just enough business to fail) in this case. Just think of his discomfort if he had for example posted a sign saying ” No Blacks will be served”!
