Even before Mueller was appointed, FBI opened investigation to “rein in” Trump. Note that they were planning an obstruction probe even before Comey was fired. Leaked to CNN because it’s friendly media, meaning they thought it was about to come out somewhere less friendly. This is huge, and people should go to jail.
I’d say President Trump has maybe a few weeks before the new House is seated to have a few good men make citizen’s arrests of the conspirators.
What is he waiting for? If he is expecting justice from the system, he knows he won’t get it. He has to go to the American people.

Send them all in with teams of lawyers, as Comey et al do. Demand immunity for all concerned and a behind close door interview, with tea, immunity for all the accused, with no oath, transcript of recording of the interview, as was done for Hillary.

If Mueller can’t be leashed, appoint a special prosecutor over him to investigate all abuses of power and other attempts to subvert the 2016 US election, including investigating the efficacy and legality of the Mueller terms of reference given by hopelessly conflicted Rosenstein.

The FBI and the DOJ are a clear and present danger to the Republic. They are far more dangerous than any off shore threat. There is a war coming.
Let me give you an example how it works, and why no one (absolutely no one) affiliated with these activities will pay any sort of price. Let’s take Rod Rosenstein as an example. Rosenstein signed the final re-application for the FISA Class 1 warrant on Carter Page. That would be the third 90 day renewal on an unjustified warrant. The warrant, itself, was primarily based on the Steele Dossier, and in the case of this particular renewal, additional circular media items planted in the media outlets by the parties seeking the warrant.
Totally, and unarguably a violation of Federal Statutes to the tune of six(6) separate felonies.
Now, Rosenstein, when questioned under oath stated “It would not surprise me if what the Counter Intelligence DOJ Attorneys told me was in the application, and what actually was in the application were two totally separate things.” He signed that renewal application, and his defense was that he based his decision to sign off on it using the recommendations and descriptions of its contents as provided by the DOJ Counterintelligence attorneys. Now, here’s why he can’t be held accountable in any fashion for this.
Rosenstein was appointed by Trump. The investigation was of Trump. As an appointment, by extension, the investigation involved Rod Rosenstein. Therefore, the Counter Intelligence Attorneys of the DOJ were within their rights to not be truthful with a subject of their investigation. Lying to Rosenstein is perfectly acceptable in law enforcement. It’s done all the time with defendants. It’s a very effective and commonplace action in criminal investigation.
Well, of course Rosenstein knew exactly what was in the re-application he signed. He likely was involved from the very infancy of the concept and planning. But, he has plausible deniability. Because he can say the Attorneys from the DOJ (CounterIntel) lied to him about the contents. They are protected because they have plausible deniability of it being perfectly legal to lie to the subject of and investigation (incidentally, now you know why so much pressure is applied every time Trump threatens to fire Rosenstein). The irony is that the plausible deniability was manufactured using a manufactured crime. It’s a nasty little circle that can’t be pierced unless someone spills the beans. No one has. Disregard the nonsense about Stzrok, Page, Priestep or whomever ratting out the rest of the team. The simple truth is no one has cooperated. Instead they are spitefully doing the opposite. The only reason Stzrok lasted so long on the job (as well as Bill Priestep) is that the federal unions carry a lot of weight and they were going through the motions.
