The libranos then decided they needed a ‘window into the oil industry’ and created Petro Canada. The assets of Petro Fina were acquired by the federal government and rolled into Petro Canada……

        1. No. Pierre Trudeau’s father was a great business man and a Conservative. He built up a series of gas stations around Montreal and later sold them for $1 million. This would have been back in the 1920s. He had other business interests but when he died in 1935 his son Pierre inherited some of that fortune. Pierre’s father had little time for his son, spending most of his time working. So I imagine Pierre ended up being the opposite of his father – a well-educated bum.

      1. I looked around for this info and read that there was a statue of Queen Victoria blown up in Quebec by some gang. The head was off the body but both stayed fairly intact and a few feet away from each other.

        A small statue ~ 15″ of Wolfe was stolen from an Ottawa museum and many years later it was returned when the thief was dying. It was found in a paper bag in a washroom at the museum with a note attached and a part of the statue (the musket) was missing and the base broken.

That’s freaking rich.

    1. The Dear Leader cannot “over-ride” the constitution which clearly gives the provinces power over education. There is no mechanism that would ever permit the Federal government to force a provincial government to create a school of any kind.

  23. Speaking of Carbon Taxes … here in the SF Bay Area … our bridge tolls will increase by $1 on Jan. 2019. It will cost each automobile $7 to cross the Bay Bridge during peak commute hours. For MOST of my life … the bridge toll was $0.25 … and then a whopping 100% increase to $0.50. In the last 20 years of 85% leftist voters and 100% leftist politicians in the Bay Area … bridge tolls (road taxes) exploded like an IED.
