The Perils of Socialism

Dave Rubin published this at the beginning of the year but it’s worth watching again:

Everything he said is so bloody obvious yet millions of Canadians & Americans vehemently disagree with him. One wonders what motivates these socialist wannabes, ignorance or malevolence?

  1. That was an enjoyable video.

The guy is right, a staggering number of people believe in socialism,I have even heard people say, “a little socialism” is needed to make this country whole, whatever that means. I believe that percentage-wise,Canada is far more socialist than America, probably equal to the Scandinavian countries.
Most socialists I have known were member of government employee unions, and especially in the teacher’s unions.I subscribe to the weekly newsletter from The Tyee, just to remind myself that it’s still out there and still very influential. The answer to every social problem, health care, homelessness, poverty, unemployment, etc., is MORE TAXATION! There are probably some here who didn’t know that. (sarc)

We will never attain true socialism in Canada or the USA, perhaps socialism for the peasants as a means of control, but rampant crony capitalism for the elites. As we discussed here a few days ago, it never occurs to socialists that they might NOT be part of the ruling elite, and you find little enthusiasm among them for the laboring jobs.

    1. “percentage-wise,Canada is far more socialist than America”

No it’s not. Canada and America are not that far apart on the ‘economic freedom ranking’ and Canada has usually had a smaller welfare state for the past century.

      1. unDork, kanaukistan is MORE socialist in some ways than the Nodick countries. You are a prime example of a barking idiot who has NO clue what you are talking about. I’v been over there a few times, and they have less socialist BS in some ways than we do, and we are catching up in areas were they are farther down the slope than we are. You keep talking about sh!t were you have no first hand knowledge, and that sort of thing is dangerous.

  2. There are two sorts of socialists: the idiots and the evil. The idiots believe it’s actually a valid, humane form of economic and social organization because they don’t have the brains to understand reality. The evil know socialism is garbage but a good way to accumulate more power and wealth by bamboozling and then robbing the gullible. When lefties call conservatives evil, you know they’re in on it and projecting to hide their own moral degeneracy.

    1. You forgot the religious socialists. Thanks to “liberation” theology, they quote enough Scripture out of context to support their claim that Christ was one, or, worse, a communist. Anyone who doesn’t accept that is regarded as either a heretic or an unbeliever.

  3. Malevolence. Socialism is a Satanic ideology.

It is most fervently adhered to by people who are sexually aroused by the thought of raping, torturing and murdering innocent people with impunity—which the rules of anything resembling a civilized society prevents them from doing openly.

  4. “One wonders what motivates these socialist wannabes, ignorance or malevolence?”

Bribery. But it’s bribery using other people’s money and assets.

Notice what Bernie and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez say: Free tuition! Free health care! Who wouldn’t want free tuition? Who wouldn’t want free health care?

Socialists bribe the less wealthy by claiming that they will take money from the so-called wealthy and the so-called greedy, mean hoarders and give it to them. It’s free!

Socialists are, in fact, lying when they make that promise. They have zero intention of fulfilling that promise.

What happens is that, once socialists get into government power, they use the power of government to take all that money and assets from the so-called wealthy and the so-called greedy, mean hoarders and KEEP IT FOR THEMSELVES (and their “employees”, e.g., teachers, health care workers, other government workers).

That’s why socialist countries eventually fall apart economically and then socially.

    It’s bribery.

  5. Socialism = the forced distribution of your wealth and freedoms to everyone else who doesn’t have a meaningful job. Very simple.

  6. Dave Rubin says it well as does Don Morris in the first comment. Sadly, it seems more and more people are believing the lies that socialism brings utopia, and that would be the direct result of decades of brainwashing in our schools, particularly in journalism and social sciences.
