Yes, a classic political ploy. But it does give a problem for the left. Do they vote money for the wall in the US House of Representatives and support the evil Orangeman? I love the irony as this is a prooblem of their making.
We have that sort of thing, but in reverse. In order to excuse his government’s bungling or lack of action, Herr Prinz Dummkopf simply says that whatever the Liberals do, or don’t do, is because the Harper government did, or didn’t, do the same.
Gee, its almost as if Hilary thinks the voters have a valid point of view that should be respected to some degree … in order to gain power.

Justin Turdeau was also a populist only he said, “vote for me because I am a feminist, will legalize pot, and will give you money”

Leftists, especially our boy blunder, love to link two or more of their disparate (desperate?) ideas under one banner of rhetoric.
They often fail miserably and trap themselves in their contradictions. As Reagan used to say, “there you go again.”
The sad part is that many people will fall for it because they want to believe it. In the US and here. Witness the catastrophe we have as a government in Canada and the people still falling for the sunny ways shtick.
Giving in to populism is not the cure to populism. Just flood the continent already.
It’s good that the likes of Hillary and Blair realize the mass immigration schemes from the third world, plus inviting muslim terrorists to join us, was not a good idea. It remains to be seen if their allies in government will feel the same way and change their tune on immigration policy issues. I am skeptical, because they seem to want open borders so that anyone can waltz into our countries and ‘afflict the comfortable’.
