The comments on the CBC article describing Trudeau’s shuffle are interesting. If you rate them by most liked the most common message is “big shuffle coming in 2019”.

The wheels are coming off the carbon tax tricycle. It’s one thing to isolate and harrass Saskatchewan, another to attempt that with Ontario.
No one seems to have briefed our Dear Leader in Ottawa how precarious his climate pipe-dream has now become. The Feds cannot tax Canadians differently from province to province. They can only tax Canadians. For example, the absence of PST in Alberta does not mean the Federal government can increase the GST in that province and grab some more cash. One Canada, one GST. One Canada, one Federal tax rate.
Of course, the brave thing to do would be to impose an across-the-board carbon tax on all Canadians and corporations i.e., go it alone. The Federal government doesn’t need the consent of the provinces to do that. Instead, our Dear Leader and his student council seem determined to provoke a Federal-provincial showdown. What a mess this gang of children has created.

What I don’t get and what everyone else seems to have missed about Justin’s Carbon Tax.
Is it resembles the old “Manufacture’s Tax” that was replaced by Mulroney’s GST.
As I recall it was a hidden tax that raised the prices of everything,
manufacture’s paid it and raised prices to cover their costs.
All Ford has to do is remind Ontarions why we have the GST and what it replaced.
Trudeau’s Carbon Tax is a hidden tax just like the old manufacture’s tax we did away with some thirty years ago.
