“Cops who allegedly stole, ate edibles from dispensary raid facing charges”
“Two Toronto police officers who allegedly stole and consumed marijuana edibles that were seized during a dispensary raid are now facing charges.
The story made headlines in January after the two officers began hallucinating after consuming the weed-laced goodies. One of the officers reportedly climbed a tree while in a state of extreme intoxication.
Things got so trippy that one of the officers placed a distress call. The bizarre episode, which could have been dubbed “Keystoned Cops,” took another unfortunate twist when a responding officer slipped and fell on a patch of ice and had to be treated in hospital for a head injury.”

“The Ubiquity of Unctuous Pieties
An age of communication such as ours is also an age of logocracy, the rule of words and those who have mastered them, in which expressed sentiment is the beginning and end of virtue (and vice). Alas, it is not true that words are cheap and easy, at least not in the long run”
” … the logic of appeasement does not work: every satisfied demand leads to a further such demand, which curiously enough likewise fails to satisfy or even reduce resentment. Of the staking of claims there is no end.”

Desperate times here in Alberta. Our ndp premier called into a Calgarry talk show this afternoon. I’m not making this up.
The host pointed out that the federal ndp as well as every other nd in the country opposes pipelines. She didn’t see a problem with this minor incongruity. She’s now for pipelines! even though she’s spent her lifetime opposing them. She’s created the very problem she now has to solve. Ha ha
What bull shit. Looks good on the phonies.
She obviously sees what might happen to her party less than a year from now: promise what the voters what they want to hear during the election, screw ’em after it’s over.

Typical B. C. NDP logic….
I live on Vancouver Island, where it doesn’t get particularly cold. Our home utilizes a heat pump for heat and a/c with a natural gas furnace for backup.
Today I received my gas bill for April/May, the total was $21.79.
Cost of gas (( 1.1GJ at i.549 per GJ $1.70
Carbon Tax…………………………………$1.91
Remainder of the charges were: basic charge, delivery, storage and transport ( I suppose delivery and transport are considered two separate things ) plus various other taxes and levies.
My question is…how can you people who live in cold climates afford to do so?
