Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I love watching Kevin Pillar, the Barashnikov of the ballpark. He pirouettes, leaps, and flies, making what he does look both exciting and elegant. Gotta love him.⚾
Toronto Blue Jays, gag me with a spoon.
Toronto ANYTHINGS, gag me with a spoon.
I despise how Rogers keeps trying to pass the Blue Jays off as “Canada’s team”. As a long time KC Royals fan, I was accused of being “unpatriotic” in 1985 and again in 2015. Enjoyed every minute of it.
I know what you mean, I follow my Washington Nationals. I’ve been called worse.
At least the Nats have a historic Canadian connection. I always preferred the Expos over the Blue Jays.
I am a lifelong Yankees’ fan yet I don’t feel the slightest bit unpatriotic. By the way, the last time I looked “Canada’s Team” had 3 Canadians on the roster …. only 1 of whom was a regular.
Calgarian pitching for the Braves today for what its worth. Not that i’ll ever cheer for the Braves.
Ahhh! Baseball is the PERFECT game!
It is slow and quiet and all man!
I love it!
It requires a degree of intellect and patience that is sadly lacking in today’s generation. Consider how many great books have been written about baseball compared to other sports.
My mighty Twins lost four in a row to the Yankees, including a ninth inning walk off homer in the final game. I am starting to understand how the Boston Red Sox fans felt.
The catcher balked when he left the catchers box to take the pitch. Pillar scores no matter what upon review.
The thing about the most perfect of all games, baseball, is that it represents the ‘sound of summer’s in all its glory. The 2015 K.C. Royal was great and the best I have ever seen or probably will ever see, IMHO. I am no expert and know so little about stats, players or rules. Its just something about the way people love the game that is great.
For my part I did see The Expos play a few times and people still mourn their departure. Met Tim Raines giving autographs even. Saw the great Hank Aaron beat Babe Ruth’s home run record. The crowd went wild! I was there in person! Ahh! But most importantly, and why I write this is to mention the great Rusty Staub, who is gone nowmay he R.I.P.
I was at the game, with seats in the upper deck, but 2nd row, and just behind the plate, so I had a great bird’s eye view of the whole thing. Amazing sequence of plays, and though I’ve been going to games since 1977, I’ve never seen anyone steal 3 bases in one inning.
To the haters, we don’t care. Those watching the series in Minnesota saw the stands were filled with Blue Jay jerseys, completely blanketing some sections. Same thing happens in Seattle. Lots of Canadians like the Jays. You don’t have to, but why bitch about it?
