Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

These stories are painting a picture of the people of N. Saskatchewan… and it is a masterpiece. A picture of people I’d like to know.
We are so fortunate in Canada to have people like Vivian York who is a nurse and who saw the collision and was first at the carnage and took over the triage helping so many of our lads and lady. Well worth the read of the incredible effort of our first responders.
A terrific link here Kate…
God Bless her. clearly, all the experience and training kicked in. God Bless her. God Bless decent Canadians like the ones who instantly ministered aid to Corporal Nathan Cirillo despite the clear risk.
tq for the link Kate. and God Bless you.
I need a moment to collect myself.
This story affected me emotionally, thanks for the link Kate. My daughter is a nurse. I live in Vancouver and I started carrying an old blanket in my car within the past year. I urge anyone who lives at the coast to also carry on old blanket, you never know when it could be a lifesaver. Why wasn’t this story in the major media?
Vivian you are an angel. You did what your experience and training and conscious told you to do. Amazing report. I have had multiple unexpected severe trauma in the past 4 years and having finally pulled myself out of a big hole, this article made me want look further into how to help people after traumatizing events happen to them. I will do that now after reading this. Purpose. xoxo
Got some dust in my eye at work. Thanks for this compelling word picture, which I have shared around a bit. More people need to know these stories, not just the blood price.
