The Holocaust isn’t just an uncomfortable subject for Germans, Russians or Poles. It’s a very uncomfortable subject for American Jews. The same liberal Jewish organizations that took a vocal part in the civil rights movement remained deathly silent about the murder of six million Jews.
Why the silence? The same reason they didn’t protest the Iran Deal too loudly.

And use the word Germans, not Nazis but Germans. And then for balance you get to mention everything Jewish communists did in Poland after 1945, ok? You can start with a Jewish concentration camp commander named Salomon Morel.

What I am saying should be obvious. But in case you’re comprehension impaired let me make it easier: I am tired of bull$hit narrative that takes for granted that Poland somehow shares responsibility for Holocaust. The narrative become popular in the West after 1968 when Jewish Stalinist communists (eg Zygmunt Bauman or Salomon Morel) were kicked out by (somewhat less reprehensible) antisemitic post-Stalinist communists. The Stalinists fled to Israel and west and immediately started crying about Polish antisemitism being a cause of Holocaust. This narrative of course became very popular in Germany and occasionally is accepted in Ukraine. Lately it has been picked up by American and European left largely in response to Polish opposition of koranimal emigration.
There is no reason as the author implies for Poles to be uncomfortable about Holocaust. Poles suffered orders of magnitude more from Holocaust and fought order of magnitude more against Germany than collaborated with them. Clear enough cupcake?

His allegations have been since debunked. There were no hundreds of Poles spontaneously participating. Less than 350 (as opposed to 2000) bodies have been found. The whole story abut a full day of bestial torture and limb severed for fun has not ever been confirmed and can be safely put among myths. What we know is that a group of abut 40 Poles under the German direction and orders (even Gross eventually conceded) enthusiastically rounded up two groups of Jews. A group of 300 was rounded in one barn a group of 40 in another. There is some debate on who killed the 40 but the official version of event is that Poles were responsible for the 300. Allegedly, they locked the barn and then burned it down with the 300 victims inside. Possibly. When Polish Institute for National Remembrance attempted to conduct proper forensic investigation Israeli side was in uproar over Poles desecrating (!) the bodies of their victims. A Warsaw rabbi was invited to oversee the forensic procedures. And then … someone found plenty of shell casings near the grave site… and the rabbi decided that any further attempts to examine the remains of victims is grave desecration and left. Poles caved in and the details got literally buried. That is the short version of what we know.
Does not seem like reason enough for Poles to be uncomfortable about Holocaust, does it?
