Harper negotiated khadr’s release from gitmo. He got to serve out the remainder of his sentence in a Canadian prison. That satisfied the instruction from the court. Nothing further was owed khadr.
If as you contend khdar was in the right, why’d he settle for a mere 10.5m if at trial he could get 3 times that? Those dots don’t connect.

Think back to when the Viet Nam war was going on. The American vets who came back were treated shabbily by a large portion of the public. If they had been injured or wounded, they received little sympathy from their detractors. After all, if they hadn’t been “in country”, nothing would have happened to them, so it was their fault.
Now, who was PM during much of that time and who openly had contempt for the military, so was likely among those who had little sympathy for the injured vets? So why should we be surprised that His Royal Snootiness should have a similar attitude?

Litterly minutes before I was out the door I was asked If I would take severence instead of rehab at 1 week pay for every full year served. Like a fool without it in writing I said yes.
