    While this incident terrified everyone in Hawaii as Hawaiians all thought they were going to die today. A number of realities will or should result from this blunder.
    First, the people hopefully will realize that security is not just an info item to be kicked around in the media and by ideological warring politicians.
    Second, the Americans better make sure that their anti-missile missiles are on alert and functioning as intended.
    Third, they better make sure that sloppy goofs are not near the buttons.
    Fourth, there are at least two countries that would love to send nuclear missiles to the US if they could get away it. The volatile ME could well produce more potential enemies. Thinking of Pakistan.
    I’m sure readers can think of more.

  22. Democrat paradise indeed. It is a nice getaway place in the winter, but……
    Tons of homeless in Oahu. But, easy to be homeless there, it’s never cold. Still, they are dirty , smelly, and are eyesores in the tourist areas.
    Food is EXPENSIVE. We stayed in a condo, so had to shop for our basics. Still cheaper than restaurants, but expnsive basics.
    Nannystate healthcare. Lots of police presence.
    Nice place to visit, but happy to leave.

    Nothing like a sober dose of reality and experiencing the knee and bladder weakening effects of fear to make someone reassess their priorities. The smarter ones will be cursing the establishment politicians and the fact this N.Korea threat only exists due to decades of their inaction. I share your empathy that it was probably a terrifying experience for some.
    Both the Dems and Reps have made such a horrible mess of American security itself that an outsider just snatched the Presidency from ALL OF THEM by doing little more than promising Americans that he would protect them from foreign evils. Think about it. That’s all Trump really had to do.

    I don’t understand why everyone is attacking the State of Hawaii. Civil Defense is now under the wing of Homeland Security, a federal entity. Since the Cold War has ended, CD now includes all perils. The biggest peril the USA now faces is the idiot who has the key to the missile launch codes.   42. My prediction is that Trump will be resigning before too long. That would of course that Spence would take over until an election was held. I would much prefer Tillerson than Spence, although I doubt that anyone could mess things up like Trump has, and that includes Homer Simpson.
    The man who ran ExxonMobil could surely bring stability and order back to this troubled nation. I use the word troubled as in having elected the worst leader in American history.
    I can’t believe that anyone could support a world leader that behaves like a mental patient from a circa 1950 mental institution. What’s his problem?? The frontal lobotomy failed or they gave him DDT instead of LSD?? The guy is a basket case.
    What happened in Hawaii today may not (in the future) be a false alarm if Trump continues his insane behavior.
    I have to take a break from SDA. 90% of what I see here is great. That 10% however that supports Trump has by blood pressure up!!
