  1. If, as our Dear Leader insists, “a Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian”, then Jozepovic should be tried for war crimes in Canada and, if found guilty, do his time in a Canadian jail.

  2. If he is convicted and we really wanted to punish him we’d register him in a WLU transgenderism course and force him to only wear shirts that say he is a straight white male.
Guilty or not aside, why I am not surprised at the duplicity and hypocrisy coming from the commies in power these days. Ahmed Hussen should be careful, he is laying the groundwork for his own demise, should reports of his activities in somalia and kenya during his youth ever surface. Rare is the lefty these days who has not engaged in rather sordid deeds. He may find himself on the receiving end of a citizenship revocation (or would that be the giving end??).

  3. You would think they’d be careful about the “making false statements” to acquire citizenship thing, given the previous immigration minister’s history. Legally, there’s no distinction between fraud to hide alleged war crimes and fraud to hide anything else. It’s all lying to CIC.

  4. The Canadian government will only make an attempt to deport from Canada a foreigner as long as that Foreigner is WHITE. If he is a non-white he can commit just about the most heinous, despicable, depraved crime and or crimes and you would have to move mountains to have the Canadian government Deport that person

  5. “In 2015, the then-Conservative government brought in reforms to speed up the revocation procedure (though the Liberal government has since repealed the part that allowed revoking citizenship for terrorism, treason or espionage.)”
This revocation is reprehensible, as it appears to introduce a bias in favour of a particularly troublesome group.
Sounds to me like Hussen, our Minister of Culture and Immigration, may be trying to play catch-up for his co-religionists.

    wait a freakin’ minute
“The report said that to meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s
    election campaign promise
to bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees by
the end of 2015, changes were made to the screening process.”

“The screening period was shortened to 96 hours from 30 days,
    for example.”

  7. “It is unclear why the Canadian government waited a full decade after the U.S. ruling before moving to revoke Jozepovic’s citizenship and deport him.”
    Not to me it ain’t.
Josepovic is just a sacrificial skunk who has been trundled out so that in the unlikely event Scheer would raise uncomfortable questions about prosecutions of ISIS combatants who have returned to our shores, our biased Immigration Minister will be able to assure the uncaring public and uncurious press that his government is taking action on war criminals.

  8. Why hasn’t every ISIS soldier been arrested? They are all war criminals. The effort they spend on 90 year old Ukrainians who volunteered for SS sponsored units to fight the Russians who killed 12 million of their countrymen is ridiculous.

  9. the Liberal government has since repealed the part that allowed revoking citizenship for terrorism, treason or espionage
    Good.
Yes, yes, I know I’m at odds with the SDA hive mind here but giving the government the power to un-citizen someone for any reason is a much bigger threat to Canadians’ liberty than a terrorist. If a Canadian citizen commits terrorism, treason, or espionage then try him in a Canadian court and throw him in a Canadian jail or execute him via a Canadian firing squad. Yes, we have way too many Canadians of convenience. The fix for that is to make it harder to become a citizen and more carefully scrutinize the applicants, not grant the government the power to un-citizen them.

  10. The citizenship would only have been revoked from people who had other citizenship. Sounds reasonable.

  11. I like the Aussie model, no duallies in government!
A Canuck is a Canuck. Canuck?
If it walks like a Canuck…

  12. I used to like this approach, but I kinda figured it would end up being a bad thing.
My view–and this also echoes Anonymous coward at 1:50–is to exclude dual-citizens from holding public office at the federal level, or serving in military or sensitive situations.
For criminals/terrorists of dual nationality, give them the choice (if convicted): serve time in Canada, or renounce your Canadian citizenship and be deported/banned permanently. If you choose to serve time in Canada, you must renounce your foreign citizenship. No exceptions.
Similar effect, I think, though I’m willing to see errors or weaknesses in this suggestion pointed out.

  13. @ Mr G:
“The Canadian government will only make an attempt to deport from Canada a foreigner as long as that Foreigner is WHITE. ”
Or of his victims belonged to a protected minority. Here is a white guy allegedly hurting mooselimbs. He’s f***ed sideways.
    @ scar:
“Why hasn’t every ISIS soldier been arrested? They are all war criminals.”
    Four words for you:
    “Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen”
Let that sink in. Because it is 2017.

  14. Again, pandering. This will make Trudeau look like he’s doing actual work.
The man in question is not the Liberals’ sort of rapist and the Bosnian community (why are there X communities in this country?) doesn’t vote Liberal. Islamists do.
    Turf the SOB.

  15. TRUE. the captcha makes as much sense as some of the names we hear these days………….des oyats tanbark
