Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Bigly if true
Not really. I have been waiting for the pyramid to collapse for years now. He didn’t do as well as Madoff, but it’s a good Ponzi while it lasts.
If Tesla goes belly up, he can still rely on SpaceX for now. The company has a contract from NASA to haul freight up to the ISS and it’s given United Launch Alliance and Arianespace a good run for their money.
Mind you, Musk has competition. Orbital ATK is flying its Cygnus again and Sierra Nevada is developing a cargo version of its Dream Chaser spacecraft.
Just wait until Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin starts doing that plus there are several companies that want to start launching small payloads, such as Rocket Lab with its Electron booster.
All of those other outfits are going to be nipping at Musk’s heels.
he’s just kicking the money (investors)can down the road. Big promises, and a future delivery date.
Next up, a battery powered space ship, delivery 2038:-))))
The big question is when does he bail out? Surely he would have studied Bernie Madoff and would know that he has an expiry date.
I am sure that there are some empty villas available in Uruguay or Paraguay now that the old Nazis have died off. Unless he is targeting New Zealand like so many of his Hollywood compatriots.
I would rather see him in jail, just like Madoff, since he has taken many times more cash. But since he is still the poster child of the left he may be able to hang on indefinitely.
We can all hope that eventually there will be a day or reckoning, although hoping for a visit from the Mossad may be asking too much.
Related – reminds me of an early 70 s comedy – very interesting , but stupid . So you get to run your truck on free electricity. So I guess we are to believe all these new technologies will produce power with no cost – again very interesting ,but stupid . I guess these trucks also get to use the road system for free . Do they not realize that a significant portion of diesel cost is taxes ? I am sure tesla will meet all its technical and production objectives . And leopards are going to change their spots .
He won’t see jail, Hitlery has committed far worse. Musk is guilty of excessive hype and subsidy harvesting with the aid of progressive gubbermints.
More likely, is Elon sells out to a major competitor. His cars and brand do have cache, like it or not. It’s just a matter of time.
His rollout of his toy trucks and another speedster, in hindsight, was another attempt at fanboys dropping thousands in deposits, otherwise known as interest free loans. The way he’s burning cash, it’s no surprise he’s looking for cashola, nor that his Chequers are taking on a rubberized quality.
Anyone for going heavy on the short bet?
So what took so long? Musk is a much better rent seeker than car builder. That last presser with the truck and speedster had all the marks of socialist desperation. Look at the paradise I can create if you just give me more money. Of course the real question is how much the sinking of Tesla has to do with the election of Trump.
Bwahhahahahahha. Musk found something he could actually sell. $1000 per virtue signal.
Trump has nothing to do with the fact that he is a hack.
He simply does not have the infrastructure to make a 35 to 50,000 dollar car with a steel body. They can’t get it welded safely. At least that is the story.
Telsa had a lot of problems getting the S and the X out, but those cars were easier as they were bonded/riveted aluminium. They pushed the schedule to fast, and somehow he though he could bring a steel unibody to market in half the time it takes Ford or GM. Ooopps, nope, and Ford and GM have been doing it for about 100 years. As I said, he got lucky with the S. People put up with the quality problems for the first couple of years. Same with the X.
The real story could be a lot more interesting. There were a lot of stories about subcontractors being pushed to do work with little if any earnest money. Maybe one or 2 help out too long before setting up the lines to produce parts in quantity??
Anyway, I am sure Musk will eventually have to answer for all of the questionable submissions to the SEC.
And with Telsa falling, it will make the record of the Obama administration almost complete. Wasting billions and billions of tax payers dollars on green bull-crap that was never ready for mass market.
Bouncing through that link led me to this Reddit conversation .
For smugly oblivious, self-admiring double-think, they’re up there with the best.
Probably fake. “Charlie”? Tesla has lots of cash. Over $1 billion.

Tesla will go bankrupt shortly before California.
Well, he does fancy himself a car salesman.
Refund!?!

Steve, a company doesn’t have a “Billion cash on hand” when it has just run “the largest quarterly loss in the company’s history.” “a net loss of $619 million for the quarter”.
Its called borrowed funds. This for a company that has NEVER turned a profit, and its business practices suggest it still doesnt understand the mass production process.
Its a cult stock, anyway you slice it. Maybe the cheques arent bouncing, but rolling out another sports car and an alleged heavy hauler, with very dubious claims of capacities, was just a Hail Mary pass for more cash from suckers.
If Musk doesnt make miracles happen in this quarter in production, then he will be eaten alive next year when BMW, Honda, Nissan, GM, etc, roll out their EVs that will be Model 3 killers. Bank on it. Musk is just a showman, not a visionary. He’s had a good gig going for 10 years, but now his niche market is going to be very crowded, by more experienced players.
Well, technically, one quarter TSLA did run in the black. Musk cashed out on all of the emissions credits to allow the press to through a positive spin on TSLA to get the approval for the purchase of Solar City. Which as we all know was a cash out for Musk and some of his business partners.
It is going to take a while for TSLA to build back up their war chest of emissions credits, but he will likely need to se that bullet soon.
Time will tell, but when the stories of virtually problem free German EV’s start trickling out, the allure of Tesla will fade quickly.
Great comment Thom…I was about to make a similar remark.
TESLA is in my opinion an IT company dabbling in machine language to produce the mirage known as an EV. As long as there are gullible folk who believe..!!…he will be fine…but a day of reckoning is a coming for this company…and it seems to be a lot closer now, particularly after his Semi Truck Sales pitch with nothing but absolute BS for expected performance figures. Physics does not lie.
As a guy that has owned the same Diesel Powered vehicle (515K kms), the past 10 years, who simply does not buy in at all with the Climate Hysteria sweeping the planet, I can’t wait for that day.. and it will come, bet on it.
Anomalies like that, are called “unsustainable”. Lefties and Greenies should be able to understand that word.
I would be the first one to congratulate Musk, if he was truly running a successful, profitable company. Instead, this is just a house of cards, with a cult following of Greenies, the media, and self-interested promoters where endless propaganda flows from, about what a “success” Tesla is.
Tesla’s day of reckoning is coming soon, but, as I previously suggested, the company will just sell out to a competitor, there are valuable assets there that Musk has built up.
If I follow the story and the thread correctly, in an area in which I confess to little or no expertise, Tesla is, for all intents and purposes, running a technological Ponzi scheme i.e. use government subsidies and investment secured with the appearance of solvency generated by those subsidies to roll out one technology (at a loss) but cover that loss with the subsidies and investment coming on promises of the next technology; rinse and repeat. This one’s going to fall hard!
