  1. Trudeau just signed a blank check to the UN pledging Canadas miltary to undefined, future peacekeeping missions.

  2. Will that be enough for him to fulfill his dream of sitting with the big kids in the Security Council?

  3. Just when you think after two years of ineptitude that Trudeau and the Liberals can’t embarrass Canadians anymore the Boy Blunder takes to the International stage and waxes this supreme bit of BS.

This twit is sitting in the middle of the kiddie’s sandbox and thinks he’s in the Mid-East. Talk about delusions of grandeur, this guy has been one toke over the line for so long he thinks he’s back in Canada before he was a twinkle in his old man’s eye.

  5. From what I’ve read, he didn’t score any points with Rody Duterte at the APEC meeting.
Our self-appointed champion of human rights started pestering him about the anti-drug campaign in the Philippines. Duterte gave him short shrift, telling wee Juthtin that he didn’t answer to Canada but to the people of his own country.
I got the impression that it didn’t sink in.

  6. If you have found a link to all Canadians named in the Paradise Papers, will you please post it here. Thank you.

  7. Will the Trudeau “Peacekeepers” be carrying arms or will they wear a shield saying “don’t shoot,Trudeau sent me, he is your friend” in the language of the trouble spots.
How in Hades have we come to rebooting this idiocy? Is Trudeau sucking up to the UN to get recognition from that cesspool laden with despots and dictators?

  8. My understanding is that last century, through more than 2 World Wars, Canadian soldiers killed more enemy soldiers, per capita, than any other fighting force on the face of this planet. Our graveyards are packed with exponentially more soldiers who sacrificed EVERYTHING wearing helmets than did wearing blue berets.
However, that hardly fits into the left’s “don’t worry, be happy” mantra. So, they try to rewrite history by denying our history as warriors and replacing it with one that won’t upset snowflakes. To my mind, this is nothing more than virtue signalling at an international level.
If it were not for lies and misinformation, the Liberals and their fellow leftist knobs would be rendered speechless.

Great – lets inject some white targets into African civil wars that have been going on for centuries. Explain that one to mothers of dead soldiers.

And not only is Plante a progressive, but she’s an environmental activist that celebrated the collapse of the Energy East pipeline along with Denis Coderre.”

  11. It’s not a blank cheque – it’s a big I.O.U. Shiny Potato is saying we are not prepared to do any heavy lifting, but we are willing to stand on the sidelines and be cheerleaders. Will we get new military uniforms with skorts and pop-poms?

  12. Nice try … the cost increase (over a year ago) is only a few dollars per 1,000 board feet … and as the article CLEARLY STATES … prices are expected to reverse and level-off soon. Meh. And the cost spike is more likely due to supply and demand as we are experiencing a little building boom – the result of an improving economy (Thank you President Trump) and STILL low mortgage interest rates … not to mention significant hurricane damage/rebuilding.
And the EXPENSIVE Canadian lumber will be replaced by US producers who will be pocketing windfall PROFITS from the inefficiencies of imported Canadian lumber … WINNING!!!!

  14. The day France and the rest of Europe ran out of money; actually, living off other peoples’ money. How long before that runs out too? Not long imho.
“As of Nov. 7, all the money the government raises through its taxes – and this being France, there are literally dozens of them – had been spent. The rest of the year is financed completely on tick.”
And yet France is far from alone. All the main European countries, the UK included, are running out of tax revenue well before the year is over. That is worrying for three reasons. It is reminder that spending is still way too high. It tells us that governments have failed to curb deficits. And it is a warning that next time there is a recession governments won’t have any room to respond with a fiscal boost.”
First, across Europe, governments are living way beyond their means. Those deficits are not coping with a sudden emergency, and they are not paying for investment that will help them grow faster in the future. The most persistent deficits are in social security schemes (and many would be even worse if pension liabilities were properly accounted for). Is that sustainable indefinitely? It takes heroic faith in finance ministries and central banks to believe it is.”
Next, even though economies have mostly recovered from the crash, the deficits are still piling up, with no plan for paying them back. If you look at debt-to-GDP ratios, they are spiraling out of control as well. For the EU as a whole, the ratio stands at 89 per cent. Greece is on an alarming 176 per cent of GDP, while Italy is on 137 per cent and France and Spain are just a fraction under 100 per cent. When are they going to start to be reduced? Right now, the answer is simple. Never.”

  15. Too funny. Andrew Cohen writes in the Ottawa Citizen that Joe Biden is the ideal candidate for the Dems in 2020. He even has this to say regarding folksy uncle Joe:
“At a rally the night before the presidential election, he saw my teenaged daughter on the rope line, exclaimed, “Hi honey!” put his arm around her and posed for a selfie. This is a septuagenarian whom fathers do not worry about.” (http://ottawacitizen.com/opinion/columnists/cohen-heres-why-joe-biden-should-be-the-next-u-s-president)

“Karl Kraus, the Press, and War”
“Already in 1899, in the first issue of his magazine, Die Fackel (the Torch), Kraus established his goal of eine Trockenlegung des Phrasensumpfes (the draining of the swamp of rhetoric). He vehemently rejected the flowery and subjective style of turn of the century journalism and the omnipotence of the feuilleton in the Viennese Neue Freie Presse, the most influential newspaper in Central Europe prior to the First World War. Various scenes and acts of The Last Days of Mankind would also be first published in Die Fackel after the end of the war.
The ornamental style of reporting and its obsession with Genrebilder (genre art or ‘colour stuff’ according to Evelyn Waugh in his satirical Scoop) instead of facts was especially problematic to Kraus. According to him, during the Balkan Wars of 1912 and 1913, “Austria was represented on the Balkans by impressionists” consumed with their own subjective feelings and callous to the true horrors of war unfolding around them.
In a 1909 essay entitled “The Trial Friedjung,” Kraus also unmasked the secret press campaign launched by the Austrian Foreign Ministry in the Neue Freie Presse, which tried to steer the Austrian public towards a preemptive war against Serbia (or at least the threat thereof) by planting jingoistic essays of the historian Heinrich Friedjung in Austria’s leading liberal newspaper.”

  20. http://montrealgazette.com/news/police-seek-two-suspects-in-west-end-firebombing
This should be under the heading of “things you’ll never see at CBC”. There are two video’ed suspects in a Montreal firebombing, but the interesting part of this item is the map of firebombings in Montreal since 2009,looks like about fifty of them, yet I haven’t heard a word about it in the msm.
The two suspects in the video are describes as “white males”,perhaps the media was waiting for proof it was white persons who did the bombings?
Of course, Boston Marathon bombers Dzokhar Tsarnaev and his brother both were white, so maybe the media should retract this story, just in case.

The Twin Cities woman who helped Senator Al Franken draft a new bill to aid sexual assault victims now hopes someone else can champion the legislation.

““As a result, you’ve seen Canadian lumber producers passing off 100 per cent of these duties that they’ve faced so far in 2017 right onto the backs of the U.S. consumer.”
In early November the U.S. Commerce Department slapped a 20 per cent duty on softwood lumber imports from Canada, after determining last spring the country was unfairly subsidizing the industry.”

Doctor Kermit Gosnell found guilty of murdering infants in late-term abortions
A Philadelphia doctor was found guilty Monday of murdering three babies born alive in an abortion clinic, Fox News confirms. He was acquitted in the fourth baby’s death, and found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of an adult patient.
Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 72, was convicted of first-degree murder and could face execution in the deaths of three babies who authorities say were delivered alive and then killed with scissors at his grimy clinic, in a case that became a flashpoint in the nation’s debate over abortion.
Gosnell was cleared in the death of a fourth baby, who prosecutors say let out a soft whimper before he snipped its neck.”
