Progressives want a law prohibiting everything and then they want to selectively enforce them. They want no baseline for those laws – no constitution- to be adjudicated by. That way those in Power – them – get to keep changing what gets enforced so as to eliminate any new rivals.
So when they are out of power – especially way out of Power when a trump rather than a bush of McCain or Romney gets in they lose their minds.

I’d be dumbfounded, if there was ever any effort to remove illegal guns from the hands of the wannabe gang bangers. Unexpectedly, it never seems to be mentioned in the outcry for more gun control. I think we all know why. It would be hard and dangerous and transgress identity politics. Hassling and intimidating law abiding citizens is easy and less risky, think of the treatment of 90 year old grannies by the TSA.
The bureaucratic snafu is not a surprise either. Lots of times, the government cannot get out of its own way.
