  1. While the federal government takes away the annual tax credit for Type 1 diabetes sufferers, they go balls to the wall falling all over themselves to keep these losers consuming illegal drugs. And keeping them alive. Frankly, I think the best solution to this “problem” is to let them OD. Individually and collectively they’re a waste of space.

  2. Mandatory conscription into the military is better use of federal money.
    Addiction is all mental anyway.
    Depravation is the cure.
What’s a more noble death, dying trying quit, or OD?

  3. I want a safe drinking site where I am supplied with my drug of choice, Napolean Brandy or, failing that, Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial.

  4. So,is the government going to supply free product,or do the users have to steal and prostitute them selves to make the money to buy an unknown and illegal product on the streets?
It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to know that the guy snorting or smoking up at the “facility” had to break into my car and steal my stereo to pay for it.
I posted this at the link as well. For f***’s sake!

  5. “So,is the government going to supply free product” Don Morris
You haven’t been paying attention.. The Canadian Government pay out of millions without a Court judgement is what is called a “Mission Statement”… They plan to fund everyone who feels they have a grievance.. All first Nations will get Millions…Muslims…Blacks.. Acadians.. The Mission is to make is seem normal that Departmental approval is all that is needed.. Democracy NOT.. Its big Numbers & printing Presses….

  6. Stupid is as stupid does Don.
And here on the left coast, people are freaking out because 5 OD deaths happened last night.
I call that a good start! And am reminding the bleeding hearts of that online too.

  7. Only bureaucrats living in an NDP fantasy land could come up with such moral depravity. Then attempt to justify it with the label “harm reduction”.
The Nutley government bringing opium dens to a community near you.
Every parent/grandparent lives in fear of their children ending up as a drug addict.
I think the United Conservatives have another election issue.
note-(Many of the immigrant communities come from countries where drug dealers are executed. They’d be fine with that being done here to protect their children, as would many whose ancestors carved this nation out of the wilderness.)

  8. The absence of personal responsibility is something the left encourages, thereby making people dependent upon Big Government.

  9. Why not a chain of depravity dens run by the government? After all, it allows convicts to go I, Napoleon at taxpayer expense, doesn’t it?
If ever there was a time for us to be hit by an asteroid….

  10. Never ceases to amaze me that the safe site advocates don’t grasp that the dangers from using these substances isn’t a flaw, it’s a feature.

  11. Let me expand the political analysis:
The Nutly NDP’s next step in making more voters dependent on, thus subservient to government.
This while working hand in glove with the private sector(drug dealer/gangstas).
The Opium Den strategy: Moral depravity justified as “harm” reduction.
Marxism is a deterministic political philosophy, denying the existence of free will.
Therefore going straight, stopping being an addict, becoming independent.
    That becomes a political heresy.
When citizens no longer yearn to be free, independent, and living a self-directed life.
The concept of a self-governing people, a state serving the citizen fades away.
It’s too scary an idea to even contemplate.
Empathy is a normal human emotions and healthy, but when allowed to metastasize.
To become over riding principle driving political action, being a victim has the highest status.
Having government purposely keeping people victimized and helpless.
Gradually, it turns that nation-state into a slave state.
Hence the old proverb: The Road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

  12. What next?? A safe inhalation site for people who want to end it all with carbon monoxide??
    Sick society!

  13. Robert of Ottawa, why stop at free booze – the government could set up free brothels to “relieve tension”. And why not free food for the obese? The possibilities are endless…

  15. I am actually surprised registered nurses are not yet required to provide sex as a health service. Lets hire Harvey Weinstein to manage our healthcare system, and get those nurses providing more valuable and much needed services! But only the ones with the juicy double, you know, a tiny waist and a round thing in your face…

  16. Just like so-called “safe injections sites” this is just more taxpayer funding for UNIONIZED SOCIAL ‘WORKERS’ who unfailingly vote for Libranos and/or Dippers. It has become a standard operating procedure to take taxPAYER money for funding taxTAKERS who reliably vote for the left.

  17. Legal pot, pot shops popping up all across the land, Shoot’em up galleries for injecting or snorting illegal drugs with professional nurses on site and we still haven’t fixed the alcohol induced drunk driving problem.
When governments take part in encouraging people to take illegal drugs, make it convenient to get and use they will be having a nation of pot heads and wasted souls.
As for safety on our roads, that hasn’t even been mentioned, it will only get worse.

  18. ‘“People are not just dying from injecting — they’re dying from snorting, taking pills orally and they’re also dying from smoking,” says ARCHES executive director Stacey Bourque.’
It’s almost as if it’s not HOW you do the drugs that’s the problem.

  19. Will there be a Voter Registration desk on site?
    Good comments all.
One of my pet theories for ending addiction is to get a group of ~10 volunteer addicts who say they want to quit and helicopter them into a wilderness site 100 miles from nowhere (in the summer). Leave them there with a guide or two who know how to survive in the wilderness, with military food, camping supplies, etc. No electronics at all for the addicts. Tell the addicts they are free to go where they want or they can follow the guide…..remember, these addicts are volunteers. The guide will lead them around in the wilderness for 2-3 months. No doubt tough for all at first but certainly effective in ending addiction.

  20. Someone I went to high school with (30 years ago) was recently appointed head of an association that is working to de-stigmatize opioid drug use. I believe it’s an international association. Weeks later she posted on facebook that her long time boyfriend had died of an opioid overdose. Her delusion remains unchallanged. Apparently, if only we’d accepted his addiction (and hers), he’d be alive today. Because, science.
I follow her on facebook to see what ass backwards ideas she’s come up with today but I hold my comments. No sense forcing reality on her dream world.

this also sends the message that we, as a society, are okay with drug abuse. the canadian
government already has pilot programs that supply heroin to junkies. the next logical step
is free groceries for the clinically obese and a welcome wagon type prostitution service
for anyone who can’t form their own relationships.

  22. Soon … we won’t be able to end it all in our own garages (like my own longtime next door neighbor did) sealed-up with our 1968 VW Bug running all night … nope … out Tesla Saloon won’t KILL any of us (by Co-suicide) … they only KILL the people living next to the power plants … or mining the rare earth materials for the batteries.

  23. ‘“People are not just dying from injecting — they’re dying from snorting, taking pills orally and they’re also dying from smoking,” . . .

I’m mostly dying of old age.
Don’t send me to a funeral home.
    And don’t call me Shirley.

  24. how stoooopid are the crack dealers these days? killing off one’s customer base really isnt the road to prosperity there mr dealer.
seriously, how friggin STOOOOPID is it the sell a lethal substance to these wasted humanity? back in the old days, the trick was to get them hooked and keeeeeeeeeep comin’ back for more. now, well, expediency !!!

  25. *
history buff asks… sell a lethal substance”
you seem to be mistaking mad dog biker bob with big pharma. one of these organisations
spends hundreds of millions on drug testing before releasing wares to the general public…
the other mixes up his special sauce on a workbench in his basement.
the really stupid people in this equation are the junkies who pay to slam this poison into
    their veins.

  26. While I don’t support spending government money on these sites, it is far less offensive than drug prohibition. Thankfully Canada is moving beyond the idiocy of the War on Drugs. The data is also clear that safe injection sites work.

“unme preaches… moving beyond the idiocy
    of the War on Drugs”

more words of wisdom from the smelly hippie
who mounted a defense for the muslim dude
who was arrested for 30 illegal handguns and
42 kilos of carfentanil in his pickering
    stash-house.
    go unme.
