‘Smart’ governance.

The very best of hands….

“You want to say mistake but it’s almost to the level of incompetence at this point,” Mills told Global News. “If I have this person’s information then where is mine? Is it in Nova Scotia in the hands of a Brazilian being deported back to Brazil?”

  1. And you wonder why we Americans are apprehensive about the idea of union-protected unaccountable inaccessible public employees gaining full control of our medical records.

  2. Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen
Almost as bad as appointing Maryam Monsef, a refugee, to overhaul Canada’s electoral system.
As Kate was fond of asking about Obama, “are you sure he’s not a Muslim?

  3. This sort of lapse is almost inevitable, given the vast amounts of data governments (and for that matter, private enterprises) operate with.
The wonder is that it doesn’t happen more frequently. As countries go, Canada is better than many, though I admit that’s probably not saying much.

  4. A number of years ago one of our big banks was caught sending faxes of sensitive information to a gas station. It had been doing this for several years even though the gas station owner had complained several times. Only when the owner went public did some pooh hit the fan. The problem was a worn out stamp (Fax to ) that turned one number (to the bank’s fax) into another.
In other news TD Bank is moving its sensitive information to India to save money.

  5. To save money from the people to whom it belongs? India isn’t Nigeria, but “sensitive” information shouldn’t be moved at all if it can be avoided and any organisation that has sensitive information and doesn’t store and control it entirely in house shouldn’t be trusted with sensitive information.

“Canada and Immigration Minister AHMED HUSSEN”
    THAT IS THE PROBLEM!
Turdo is handing our systems over to ‘colored folks’ whom, I don’t believe, like white folks much since most of them are out to destroy us with the help of globalists like Turdo. Just sayin’
Am I wrong? Am I wrong? Am I wrong? Donny? Dude?
One more thing, is it actually Hussen or .. Shouldn’t that be spelled, Hussein?

  7. Mills and his family are furious not only by the privacy breach but by a lack of response from Immigration Canada and Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen’s office after repeated attempts to contact them
We’re from the government, and we don’t care … we don’t have to. We, at the government, are all powerful and you’re just a paean. Here … enjoy your ride in the bureaucratic washing machine. Warning! some rides may make you dizzy.

  8. Government IT is still desperately trying to fix Phoenix so they’re paid on time. You don’t think everything else takes second place to that?
Eventually Phoenix will have to be band-aided together so it works enough most of the time to be considered “fixed”. No doubt someone will crow that “Phoenix rose from the ashes!” at that point. 😀
Governments want automation so it cuts their costs. But there aren’t enough checks (human or electronic) in the system to ensure the automation is actually working. The trend is only accelerating.
So expect more of this. Much, much more.

  9. ” Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen ”
A similar situation as the proverbial fox looking after the chicken coop.

  10. regarding ‘official apologies’, I had a confab with an acquaintance on this subject. he suggested, and it got me thinking, expecting any sort of ‘mea culpa’ from ANY official body, individual, organization, civil ‘servant’, bureaucrap, politishun, whatever, comes with potential LIABILITY issues, so fergedaboudit.
