Which is the world’s largest energy company? Exxon? Shell? Neither; they come ninth and twenty-third. The winner? Russia’s Gazprom, according to Platt’s. Follow-up stories include Russia and Saudi Arabia jointly developing new oil projects; Libya to ramp up production; IAEA’s nuclear projections; Australian businesses fear energy price shocks; Elon Musk to solve Puerto Rico’s energy problems; DONG changes its name (and about time too); new rules for US grids, UK government rethinks Hinkley financing; Scotland bans fracking; would Putin drive a Tesla; radioactive wild boar in Sweden and how climate change caused the Yosemite rockfalls.
An eclectic mix of energy and climate news from around the world.

I would love to see the structural support necessary for Elon’s Puerto Rican solar panels? Hurricane-proof ? Cost ? Yeah, riiiight … Or would it be his Solar city shingles ? Note to Elon: most Caribbean buildings eschew shingles for metal roofs. Shingles tend to get ripped-off roofs when the hurricane hits. Your fragile glass shingles would get pummeled by storm debris. Face it … you’re just shilling to get Federal taxpayer dollars. Greedy slimeball.
PS … your multiple plastic surgeries are making you look more like a post-op Michael Jackson, than a normal looking human being. Face it (pun intended) … you’re ollllllld. I just saw your cameo in the the (unfunny) film … “Why Him”. You are looking really, really, creepy. Weird ~~~~~
My take away from the articles involving Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the US is that they are forging ahead with energy projects that make sense while the north-western European countries, and while not mentioned also Canada, are trying to focus on pixie dust energy projects.
Our Tinkerbell PM spreading pixie dust throughout the land making Canada a world leader in renewable energy all the while embracing Quebec’s hydro power and shutting down our oilsands.
The SOB just will not get it! He is definitely boosting western separation, thank God. It seems that Quebec can’t even do that right, however, I am betting that we in the west can.
Perhaps there will be more to be thankful for this Thanksgiving weekend than we here anticipated.
I am optimistic.
Happy Thanksgiving, all.
Concerning Libya : the new world order and there hanger ons, murder a whole country and its leader [ an African country no less ] and Rig Zone calls it a revolt ??? Its a black stain on the peaceful kingdom of Canada’s history forever !!! And now we have Canadian troops on the Russian border ??? I talked with my conservative MP and he is as arrogant as JT .
Canada has some problems with commerce..The reading of all the published NAFTA negotiations, including Alt Government Policy would suggest that NAFTA will be disappointing… The dependence on Climate Science..and Climate science..followed by the Canadian WAY is not a bargaining position…It is the Canadian piss-Ants hoping that Crumbs will fall their way….Trump knows how to spin piss-ants, and if nothing is possible, nothing will be the order-of-the- day
Good Luck
