In this Yank’s latest podcast I tear apart, bit by bit, the article from The Guardian about adjunct professors resorting to prostitution and homelessness to make ends meet. There were SOOOOO many bad decisions they made that put them in that situation, that they only can blame themselves. But it was more shocking how the Guardian presented it as if it were all just “poof” bad luck.

At one point I wound up homeless because of alcoholism. There were a crap tonne of bad decisions that got me to that point and I have to own all of them. The good news is that I learned from it, put the plug in the jug, and have been sober and successful for the past 25 years. There are few problems that can’t be solved by an adult attitude and rolling up your sleeves.
