Visit The TC Douglas Building While You Still Can

Cleanse the name of eugenicist Tommy Douglas from every building; revise every text book.

Don’t suggest, don’t simply raise his moral failings and sketchy associations as a debating point, because the left doesn’t debate — they only advance.
So, just cleanse.. Now.
And no, I’m not joking. Make them scream, make them rage and ultimately, make them play by their own rules: make them defend the preservation of their own offensive monuments to their own deplorable histories.

  1. The whole stupidity of the Macdonald hate is that Liberal Alexander Mackenzie passed the Indian Act that promoted residential schools. It was a bleeping Liberal thing. I suspect Justin has been told the truth.
I think it is truly shameful how the communistic NDP hide the fact that their prophet was a big proponent of cutting the nuts off retards. Lets started tearing down his monuments.

  2. Eugenics was popular through the red decade of the thirties up until their Nazis-applied atrocities of WW2 became well known. Commy Douglas was a nasty bugger alright but cleansing history is wrong. Rather than replicate the behavior of the mindless looters and thugs on the left it would be far more productive to figure out a way to wrestle control of what is taught in schools.

  3. The way to wrestle control back is: MAKE THEM LIVE UP TO THEIR OWN RULES. Dehumanize them; never engage your enemies, that humanizes them. Rules for radicals, forcefully crammed into every orifice, of every socialist, everywhere, everyday, for the rest of eternity. Evil socialist is an oxymoron; to be socialist is to be evil. Why do you want to negotiate with evil?

  4. Might I recommend the statue and the name of the ferry terminal at the foot of Bay Street named for Jack Layton, the racist whoremaster who abused the Chinese women.

  5. Politics in Canada has gone off the rails. It’s time to ask who let the fools out…or who elected such a bunch of flaming idiots? It’s all about getting elected, no principled people need apply.
No country worth living in obliterates it’s history by tearing down statues. I’m assuming it’s not being taught in schools, it might offend.

  6. we need to carpet bomb the left.
metaphorically speaking, unlike the terrorist groups they support.
    ‘commy douglas’. I like that.

  7. Canadians seem to think that residential or church schools were unique to Canada when in fact they were built – Wong with hospitals – all over the world.
Why? Because people in the world often lived in wretched conditions without education or care. The schools were seen as charity. Modern Canadians are instead taught that they were concentration camps.
In Singapore, remnants of these church schools are everywhere. At one, which is now the Singapore Art Museum, there’s a plaque near the front door thanking all the donors. At the top of the list are several opium companies.
For some reason Singaporeans can experience their history without collapsing into hysterics.

  8. Hundreds of years ago, when popes became popes by killing the previous pope, they would dig up the losing pope, put him on trial, convict him, then dismember his body.
    No difference today.
So, yes, lets keep at it. There is virtually nobody in history who could possibly live up to today’s exacting standards – “standards” that seem to change, literally, by the hour.
    Say, how about MLK’s and JFK’s and RFK’s and EFK’s well-known abuse of women…

  9. I don’t negotiate with evil nor do I advocate as much. That the left is the enemy is a given. The left owns the culture. The culture won’t be moved significantly by politics because it moves politics. The majority of humanity inhabit that mindless mushy middle that can be influenced culturally. They are not the ideologically driven zealots that act out as thuggish agents of the institutional left. Once you abandon the effort of influencing them (mushy middle), all that is left is civil war and right now, the state and all its coercive might is on the other side and warriors on the side of liberty are few.

  10. I’ve often wondered if the Native Indians would have survived at all if it hadn’t been for the white man.
They were tribal and fought each other, often wiping out whole tribes. I suppose all the bad things, like TB and other habits and lifestyles adopted by Native Indians down through our history have been blamed on the white man as well. It certainly seems we think so as well…we/our governments can’t seem to pay them enough compensation.
Then of course they own all the lands/sacred burial grounds etc. It’s a never ending saga and will be until some smart people take over for the betterment and benefit of all. We are a long way from it, money and more money just keeps the farce going over the terms of all governments over many moons!

  11. Residential schools? – the Anglicans had more residential schools for white people than they did for Indians. The choice was residential schools or no schools. When residential schools started, Indians were nomads. They may have had reserves but likely left much of the year to find work. In the pre-welfare days, they couldn’t sit around the reserve waiting for welfare day. When I was a kid, a neighbor used to hire Indians to pick roots and rocks. The sugar beet industry in Southern Alberta used to employ them to hoe fields.

  12. The sugar beet industry in Southern Alberta used to employ them to hoe fields.
Now they leave the fields to just become hoes
(Which is why all the MMIW Inquiry folks are quitting, of course. The reality that this is just bad Red Indian lifestyle choices coming to roost is forcing them to bail out before their good leftist friends pillory them for speaking Inconvenient Truth)

  13. Edmonton has Emily Murphy Park. Has to go because Eugenicist.
Surprisingly, the indegenous population has probably been visiting the Brownlee building in downtown Edmonton for years since the Crown Prosecutors, Bail and Family Justice offices are all in that building. But not a peep although Brownlee, of the UFA (the precursor to the NDP), was the premier who brought in the Sexual Sterilization Act. Where is the outrage?

  14. If we win again we need to burn it to the ground this time. EVERYONE must lobby their conservative MP to do the things we want like cutting all funding to the CBC and ending supply management and getting rid of equalization and the senate. PERMANENT changes are needed. Get rid of Health Canada and repeal the Health Act.

  15. Who the *^^&^* is Tommy Douglas?
Sounds like an old rummy character in a Mark Twain novel.

  16. They named the ferry terminal after Layton? Oh well, every journey should have a happy ending.

  17. Let’s start with Trudeau senior, well known for his Nazi sympathies, and anti Jewish activities during WW2.

  18. We must acquiesce to the latest insanity: no infrastructure will be named for anyone, just a simple number system should be used: Education Facility #294, Bridge # 12,708, Airport # 537, Glorious Government Building # 328,etc.
The possibilities are endless, and no one will be offended. I also realize that certain titular nouns such as “mister” and “sir” or “madam” can be triggers,so I suggest we call each other,”comrade”.
No one will be offended by that except the few million people who had to live under that system for a few decades, but they aren’t relevant today,so screw ’em.
Will any of our glorious politicians have the courage to stand up and denounce in no uncertain terms this madness,or are they all too cowed by pc lunatics to do more than mew little replies to the insane?

  19. Deep six all Indian ceremonies and odes to them as a people.
They were slave owning, warrior/ raider society that oppressed women and killed other tribes and races.
    Pauline Johnson herself kept slaves.

  20. This crap is by no means new. Back in the early 90s my kids were going to a new catholic school named after a french Canadian saint. There were protests and demands to change the name because she had kept slaves. The protesters were unable to grasp the irony that she was given the slaves by 1 tribe which had taken the slaves from a rival tribe. It’s not like the old nun had gone out and captured them herself.

  21. Commie Douglas is almost as good as the eugenicist Revenue Canada who managed to put this on government stationary in respect of my son’s insulin dependent diabetes (type 1):
“For the purpose of the disability amount, life-sustaining therapy is any treatment for a disease or disorder that, if withheld would prevent the functioning of one or a group of vital organs essential to sustain human life.”
It is always delightful when the feds manage to play actual Nazi with a descendant of the Huns on government stationary. I should thank the feds for asking me to kill my son, as the onus is on the taxpayer to disprove the statement. UNFORGETTABLY STUPID and PRICELESS all at once.
For ignoramuses as big as this, NEVER EVER TRUST GOVERNMENT BUREAU-NAZIS.
    Cheers

  22. Is there a race on to destroy Heaven and Earth?
Be careful progressives because North Korea or Islam may win the race.

  23. Mention of Emily Murphy reminds me: don’t forget Nellie McClung who thought eugenics was a swell idea and advocated sterilizing the “simple-minded”.
I guess those “Famous Five” statues on Parliament Hill and in Calgary will have to go!

  24. Hmm… how many schools are named after Louis Riel? How many statues are there of Riel? I think we even have a holiday named after him. I don’t think one has to scratch too deep to find some questionable behaviour, including murder by that self-confessed and well-documented lunatic.
You can find something on anyone that will offend someone or some group. This move to purify our history is not well-thought-out. If we are going to take down statues, then should they not all come down? Everyone has to calm down and think about this.

  25. “Make them play by their own rules.”
One can only try. I’ve sent the following letter to our local paper, so we’ll see if it is accepted or ignored.
    Dear Editor;
Those who embrace the PC madness gripping the U.S. and Canada should understand the madness can cut both ways. Within the NDP for example, 37% support expunging historical figures while 41% do not (source: Angus Reid). Overall, 55% of Canadians oppose and 25% support such action. May I proposed that the Tommy Douglas Library in Burnaby, Tommy Douglas Collegiate in Saskatoon and the T.C. Douglas building in Regina all be renamed? After all, as a man of his time, Mr. Douglas was a committed eugenicist. His thesis for his Master of Arts degree (1933) was titled “The Problems of The Subnormal Family”. His subjects included women deemed to be “immoral” and one of his recommendations included segregated classrooms for “subnormal” children. Mr. Douglas held views that were characteristic of his time, as did Margaret Sanger, who was also a proponent of eugenics via abortion. Personally, I would not measure Mr. Douglas or any other historic figure solely for adhering to popular ideas of their era but rather by their overall contribution to society. For those who insist on perfection in leaders from our past, I ask they apply the same standard to their own heroes.
