EV’s are definitely in-city vehicles for warm climates. I appreciated the distances the author has to travel,for which the staying power of an EV is inadequate,but most of his examples are a fraction of the distances we have to travel in Canada and the USA.
Before green advocates tell me I should buy a Tesla or Volt, describe a typical journey from Edmonton to Prince Rupert, in a typical January or February. The distance is 1456 km,driving time estimate 15 hours.
Having to recharge every 100 km or less,the trip could take several days.

@Don, in UK if I have to travel further afield, for example London I fly. Used to do it twice a month before I became unemployable 😉 Perhaps the difference lies in liquid fuel tax (80/120p in UK) and congested roads combined with cheap flights.

Well, the GREENDP in BC want to kill the Site C dam project, cuz ” we don’t need the power”. But, the GREENDP wants us all driving Lectric cars, and soon, or else apocalypse according to that blowhard Weaver.
How indeed will those cars be charged, yet they are killing the source of power that will look after that and then some?

I think you in Canada will be able to buy cheap Clown cars very soon. CNN interviewed a GM dealer who said he is only selling upscale SUV’s & Trucks..The traditional sedan & volt are not selling and just taking up Sales room space.. GM has made a huge mistake chasing political crap… Buyers determine the market in the USA & all sedans may have to be shipped to Canada or the UK where they are preferred. (Countries that keep fuel prices high)
