    Those “isms” don’t CAUSE the corruption of the human spirit. They are the RESULT of the corruption of the human spirit.

This is where the Ministry of Love always takes you. This is where Wynne has taken Ontario; yes, past tense. Notely has taken Alberta. Wall is taking Saskatchewan (just slower than the other two). Where Merkel took Germany. Where Macron will take France. Where Corbyn will take England when the majority stupid elects him.

  17. I had to look it up in the Merriam Webster dictionnary: “leftism” and “socialism” are not synonymous but they do not clearly explain the difference. It smells like another language manipulation.

As Robert Conquest points out in his history of the 20th century the enemy of the 21st century is not a particular ideology, it is ideology — the idea that there is a formulaic solution to the ills of mankind leading to some predetermined utopia. It is the expectation that linear solutions can be applied to non-linear systems such as human economic activity. Communism/socialism, the collective state ownership of the means of production: a fiasco; it’s close cousin Fascism (everything for the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state — Benito Mussolini): a fiasco; the “Green economy”: a fiasco. “Capitalism”, itself a Marxist term, is not a system per se, it is simply a Marxist label for human beings carrying on economic activity unhindered by government. Government regulation can be helpful, in the same ways as the rules of the road smooth the flow of traffic, as long as the regulations improve the transparency of transactions thereby improving efficiency, don’t become excessive, and restrict themselves to governing how economic transactions will transpire not coercing or restricting which economic transactions will transpire. Therein the rub; ideologues invariably believe they know what is best for others and hijack the machinery of government to coerce or steal. The result is Venezuela.

  22. Hmm? How many Syrians have come to Canada now? Suspected that at least 50,000 Haitians are headed our way. Trump tightens up residency and visas in the USA and Canada lets these people in as refugees. Of course there will be no public discussion.
    Prior to Harper we know the Liebels were quite willing to sell Canadian passports for $50,000 a pop. How many significant other partners of Liebel MP’s were cashing in this way. Memory tells me about 13. Of course there was no real disclosure as the political elite tend to close ranks at the trough.

  25. Conquest as an excellent historian of the Soviet period does a great job of talking about not only the detailed machinations of the Marxist Soviet communist state, much like Richard Pipes and Orlando Figes do, but also the evil ideology behind this.
    What is amazing is the inroads and hold this evil ideology has in the western world.
