  1. Compensating him? He should have been charged with treason. There were Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan at the time he killed the American and it could just as easily have been one of ours.
    Charge him, try him, and lock him away for life.

  8. He was a combatant not in uniform and thus outside the Geneva convention. The allies were within their rights to summary execute him. That he is was not but instead sent to gitmo where he was still out of Canadian jurisdiction and voided his rights as a Canadian citizen.
    Compensation is a perversion of the justice system.

  10. Hey they should compensate the Hitler Youth who were commandeered and fought alongside the SS. They will have soon ballooned the deficit into the trillions with interest payments and all.
    That should go over well every Remembrance Day…!
    If yer waitin’ on justice this side of heaven, that is never gonna happen.
    So now it is open season on battlefield medical personnel; I’d carry at least a sidearm.

I like what Charles Adler said tonite.Trudeau look right at the camera and say I am sorry Omar Khadr and the rest of his cabinet does the same.Thay won’t because they know its wrong this should go to court no secret payouts.Chretien started all this by gettimg old man Khadr out of jail he’ll look bad in all this.

  14. Calgary’s vote for far is 89 percent against the payment, 11 percent for it.
    Given that Calgary is approx. 10 percent Muslim… you’d think it would be higher when left-overs vote, too. Obviously some of the Muslims don’t like Al-Q/M.B.
    Calgary has to worry about Islamic State jihadis returning from the sandbox. Hopefully, JTF-2 snipers will reduce their number somewhat.
    The Trudeau Liberals are going to wear this apology and $10 million windfall into the 2019 fed. election.
    This is the biggest political victory for Al-Quaida since losing Osama bin Laden.
