American politics is now all about one thing: impeachment
The left’s anti-Trump rhetoric has been catastrophist from the beginning. The initial travel ban represented a constitutional crisis. So did the firing of acting attorney general Sally Yates. And so, of course, did the cashiering of FBI Director James Comey.
Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe, once frequently mentioned as a potential Democratic Supreme Court pick, wrote a piece a couple of weeks ago entitled, “Trump Must Be Impeached.” Must doesn’t allow for wiggle room. Tribe maintains that “impeachable offenses could theoretically have been charged from the outset of this presidency.”
Left-wing New York Times columnist Charles Blow writes about “the critical and increasingly urgent question for many: Will Trump be impeached – or indicted – and when? The anticipation has produced a throbbing anxiety. There is so much emotional investment in Trump’s removal that I fear that it blinds people to the fact that it is a long shot and, in any case, a long way off.”
Actually, I think they’re moving past impeachment to just killing him.

The only dependable thing today is undependability. A critical mass of stupidity has been achieved and no remedy will be allowed. Interesting times in spades.

This is horrifying to watch unfold because it is corruption of the highest level unfolding in full view. It does not matter to the left now whether or not there is a veneer of respectability on top. This is a witch hunt, kangaroo court and show trial all mixed into one with the sole intent of destroying Donald Trump and true conservatism.
When the same was done to Conrad Black with the full support of the media – it horrified me then because I knew if they could take out Black – with full support of a corrupt judiciary and both political parties, then they could take out anyone.
Not only did they take him out they pissed on his corporate grave and salted the earth where a great company once stood.
What is occurring right now is a seditious coup in full public view – and its fully supported by the democrat base because they are fundamentally dis-informed – primarily because they believe everything they are fed by the media – because it supports a worldview that has been carefully constructed for them by the same media, which is to say anti conservatism/pro (soft) totalitarianism (save the planet).
And if they are successful in removing/destroying Trump, freedom is forever dead, for there will be no “new world” to go to.
The critical mass of stupidity was passed a good while ago! What we are seeing in America, Canada, Britain, France, Austria, Sweden, indeed across the broad spectrum of Western Society is the slow motion implosion of mankind. The ‘Shining City on the Hill’ that Comey alluded to in his testimony last week is now nothing more that a charred and derelict ruin. Justice, equality, and fraternity have been run out of town by greed, envy, and sloth. What the moronically stupid do not realize is that when you eviscerate and crucify the producers, you are in effect cutting everyone’s throats. I for one am not enjoying the decline but thankfully I’m old enough that I doubt I will be around for the finale.
And what was the impeachable offence? Being elected and not being a democrat. That’s what’s scary here. These people have thrown off the masks now folks. They’re openly saying they what we already knew. The only question is how long before that starts to sink in among republicans? Probably never.

Anything will do. Impeachment is a political process masquerading as a legal process. It’s never been successful because 2/3 of politicians aren’t that stupid.
I think in 4 months the Attorney General should ask Mueller for a progress report. If he’s got nothing, ask him for a final report due in 30 days. The whole point of the swamp is to drag this garbage into the mid-term elections.
The Instapundit article referring to Duterte raises an interesting insight. It seems the “left” assume that removing Trump from office will result in an Obama-clone being installed. History belies that assumption, and in fact the useful idiots are often the biggest losers in the exchange.
I am currently writing an “adaptation” of Shakespeare’s MacBeth in which SHE taunts Justin Trudeau, calling into question his manhood as he grovels at lunches under the mighty Obama. SHE gets Justin to poison Obama’s Canadian Halibut, which unleashes a race war that SHE orchestrates through the Clinton Foundation. SHE uses Global Warming as further justification for slaughtering “white” denier politicians. In the final scene, we see HER and Huma in bed, scissoring their timbers, as Hillary is heard saying …”unsex me” … as Huma plunges a knife into her neck. Huma screams Allahu Akhbar as a dozen burkas-clad attendants emerge from the wings.

Impeachment is a handy tool for simply stalling out the Trump tenure. It does not have to actually happen as the PR can reinforce the pebs energy and possibly deter Trump’s political objectives.

That’s the danger, right there. One tribe thinks they can run their rivals off. There is, however, nowhere left to run. This means that the left tribe will be viewed, quite correctly, as an existential threat by the right tribe, and not an inconvenience or irritation. It is not something that can be ignored or avoided, and presents a clear, inescapable hazard to their tribe’s culture, prosperity, and future. The right tribe is backed into a corner.
If the left tribe doesn’t moderate and de-escalate, it’s going to be on like Donkey-Kong, and the left tribe is going to learn just how deplorable the right tribe can get.

The current political turmoil in the US is very disturbing. Leftists are a problem, for sure, but the real driver of the anti-Trump agenda are the globalists. They are providing money and organization. They own the media and are extremely skilled at manipulating people. It is globalists who are behind the push on certain issues — Muslim immigration, the “Climate Change” agenda, aggressive identity politics (LGBT, Blacks, Aboriginals, radical feminism, etc.) Some of these are promoted as issues as a way to break down traditional sources of identity and social cohesiveness. I think that the core of the political divide comes down to nationalism vs. globalism. The globalists are aiming for a one-world socialist/communist government. That is what all those UN “Sustainable Development” goals are aimed at. Ultimately, it will be a totalitarian state. This will not happen without strife. As a country with a lot of national pride, a once strong economy and haven for democracy, the US is putting up a fight. Interestingly, we do not see the same level of strife in Canada, I believe, because Canadians are more compliant (the globalists know this) — we have already been taken over by the globalist agenda and most remain oblivious. We can stand at a distance and tsk, tsk all the political conflict happening in the States, but ultimately, our fate is tied to theirs. If the globalists win, no one will be free. It will be Soviet style Communism all across the once-free world.
Agreed Linda, as for why we as Canadians are so compliant I would point a finger at the media – there is virtually no polarity or objectivity in Canadian media. They all read from the same script. The Rebel is a refreshing change but is but a thimble in an ocean of leftist coordinated media messaging.
The US has a far more robust media offering that helps offset the leftist message.
I’m not so sure that American’s are actually fighting more vigorously for their sovereign nation than are Canadians. However, America is blessed to have many more ‘States’ and an electoral college process that prevents the tyranny of the majority. The entire globe has become a WAR between the coastal/globalist elites … and the interior/nationalist commoners. A WAR between the multi-culti BIG CITIES and the native-born small towns. There is increasing pressure for secession of flyover country everywhere. The coastal/globalist elites KNOW this … which is WHY they have been ‘resettling’ foreign refugees throughout flyover country in BOTH Canada and the US. The globalist elites are doing their best to infect the body politic of interior nationalism. A horrible and cynical policy that is actually more harmful to the ‘refugee’ than to the politics of the interior.

I am not sure what to call what is going. It is either a civil war or a coup. The only thing missing, so far, is tanks and troops in the streets.
I am starting to be concerned that the assassination of President Trump is being actively promoted by the lefty media. When you have morons like Kathy Griffith caracturizing the decapitation of the President and then another collection of idiots advocating his murder in a suggestive adaptation of a Shakespeare play is there any limit to what they can get away with? Hopefully this will never happen but this suggestive promotion has to stop.

In 1961, Ike warned of the “Military Industrial Complex”. If he were here today, would he warn of the “Globalist/Financialist Government-Media Complex”? I don’t think Canadians are fighting for their nation at all. Let the globalists take over. This works in Canada because of the strong, leftist mentality and because globalism is a counter to American dominance. Many Canadians are anti-American in their political views. If something serves to take down American strength a peg or two, a lot of Canadians would be onside. It is most unfortunate ad they do not see the implications. Americans traditionally are protectors of individual freedoms. Globalists will prove to be totalitarian oppressors.
