  1. As the Great Justin and his Liberal followers dilly-dally on the issue of developing more oil and gas wells, the Japanese and the Chinese have scored a big win.
    Ice that burns?? Yup!!
    I love this line.
”But experts said Friday that large-scale production remains many years away — and if not done properly could flood the atmosphere with climate-changing greenhouse gases.”
    Question: Who are the experts??

  3. Interesting read from one of the founders of Twitter.
More interesting is that most of the short-form takeouts by MSM is that he is quoted for saying Twitter is broken if it is true that Twitter got Donald Trump elected, and he is sorry for that.
Full article quote is that Twitter is broken as it rewarding extremes. One of which is Trump’s claim that Twitter got him elected.
but of course this is the one that MSM grabs.

“Moscow – Coldest May since 1918”
“In Moscow the average temperature over the last 17 days is 8.5 ° C.
On some days in May, negative temperature anomalies reached 9-10ºC below average.
In recent days the average temperature “behind” the standard of 6.1ºC.This makes it the coldest May in Moscow since 1918.”

  6. With regards to this comment: “The word “condo” is deployed as a derogatory badge of sterilized and inauthentic living, or wielded as a residential pitchfork by the detached-home elite.” And what’s he doing but denigrating folks who don’t live as he does. Virtue signalling, media snot.
I built a single detached bungalow in a new SW subdivision of Calgary, about 20 years ago. It was a blank canvass at the time. Hay field construction. Condos were added to the mix a couple of years later, just in time for the LRT arrival. They were built close to the LRT station, adjacent, or overlooking the CP freight line that runs north-south to Lethbridge & Edmonton. They are wood frame construction, not a brick in them, 4 stories high & when new & un-cladded they burn like oil wells from the glue in the chip board. They burn quite well, even when occupied despite sprinkler systems.
We knew a friend of ours who bought one. Cramped & noisy & smelly & run by Condo Nazis. He left & bought a SD home shortly after. That balcony could barely host a couple of chairs, a small tablette & competed for space with a BBQ. Said BBQ is a fire hazard to one & all in these units, or someone’s planter used for an ashtray.
Those CP freights rumbled by at all hours & for a few years blasted folks awake with the horn as they approached two level crossings in less than half a mile. Others along the “condo strip” that heads uptown, face a busy 6 lane traffic route & take in a view of car dealerships, repair sops, rentals & a variety of strip malls that in most cases are inaccessible from the opposite side of the traffic route, due to a dearth of crossings available. A vehicle is a necessity in Calgary.
Our Mayor is one of those “build up” fanatics, aided by studies from the Pembina Institute, that thinks living in a 30 floor rat box downtown is the future. Builders oblige. Some downtown buildings are still waiting for downtown to reach them. A walk to work is, again afforded few crossings of streets & in some cases CP Rail, running right through the downtown core. The views are stupendous, on the west side I’m sure, but most take in the view of the CP Rail yard, tracks & glass & concrete downtown Calgary. Yum. I’m sure the “breeze” is refreshing perched on that postage stamp balcony, especially in winter. Goin’ out for a smoke?
Doug Saunders should consider where most “cities” in Canada are, relative to his location. Calgary is situated at the southern end of James Bay, latitude wise, 3500′ ASL & designated semi-desert as it receives on average only 16.5 inches of the wet stuff annually. Yeah, we don’t shovel too much of it, in winter in comparison to say any points east of Manitoba. It’s a perk. Winter is 6-7 months here & the wind would drive him batty. He’s welcome to buy or rent a 30 floor rat-box unit up at the James Bay level, if he is so inclined to look down his long nose at people who could buy a single detached when he couldn’t. He probably chucks his butts off the 15th floor, into the street. He can’t afford the top level, as clear a marker of status seeking, city dweller prima donnas as could ever be.
