Not that another ONLP leader would make a difference at this point. If winning is the game (LOL!) then a leader would have to be acclaimed just so that they could have the summer circuit to glad-hand. They would have the fall session to reintroduce Liberals to moderate policy, a budget in the spring to back it up and then hope.
Reality strikes; the blood feuds that are intrinsic to any Liberal party means it will be a contested leadership. That kills the summer and half or more of the fall. There will be no time to liberalize the party away from the socialist-greenism that has taken root. Any budget in the spring will simply be a continuation rather than a remediation. Result: still a loss but maybe some furniture saved.
All of which means that it will be a large field of leadership contenders because they know they’ll be working for 2022 and not 2018 but the new leader would at least have a losing election under their belt and a full four years to figure out how to liberal again.

On the other hand, not being liked is a living hell to the collective of pretense known as the liberal party. Their whole reason for being is to prove how well loved they are. Rereading the quote of the unnamed MPP its not on their radar to try to figure out the why, whats puzzling them is how could anyone dislike liberals? To them thats just absurd.
If they think of any reason, to them its either homophobia, islamiphobia, racism, or just some vast right wing conspiracy. Yeah that must be it.
I left ON 15 years ago but I always hoped for the best for them. After the last provincial election, with the Liberal corruption in full view and subpoenas getting Handed out, they still won a majority. That’s when I stopped caring.
Now it’s just a place where I go to visit family.
As long as any Liberal, or NDP, or Green gets greater than zero votes, there is no hope for Canada. Stupidity is the most virulent communicable infection in the history of the universe; and socialism is its most dangerous symptom. If there is even one carrier in your town, or province, or country; everyone and everything is in danger.
In short there is no hope for Ontario. Toronto is the plague capital of the world for stupidity. Toronto cannot be stopped from going full stupid. Or even moderating its stupid in any way.
I hope she doesn’t quit. I want her to stay on so the Ontario electorate can give her and her party the proper kicking they deserve, with the party a rump in a distant third place and she loses her seat.
And if she gives them that opportunity and they don’t do it, they deserve to have her finish the province off.

No offence, but the only people more deluded than Liberal voters, are the people who think those voters would (or even could) stop.
It is impossible, inconceivable, unfathomable, that any Liberal, anywhere in the country, will ever get less than 99% of the vote. All future elections in Canada will resemble elections in Venezuela or Cuba. More than they will resemble Brexit, or Trump, or Reagan, or Thatcher. There will be no turn around in Canada.
Of course the Ontario Liberals will be reelected with another majority.
Wynne will step down and be replaced with a Squirrel.

As bad as Wynn is I have no doubt that either her or her replacement will win the next Provincial election. The Conservatives have decided to have Patrick [ the invisible man ] Brown as their savior from rampant liberalism. Thats like electing Dracula as the head of the Red Cross. This guy is just liberal lite nothing more, he is in favor of Carbon Taxes, swallows the global warming BS without even asking a question and seldom if ever confronts the Government meaningfully on their outlandish increases in the Provincial debt. Next Government of Ontario will be a liberal minority government unfortunately.
