Like many Conservative supporters, I struggled to decide for whom I was going to vote in the upcoming leadership election. I don’t really like O’Leary all that much, at least not as a politician. On the other hand, if I was buying a new Chevrolet and he’d be one of the sales staff, he’d be the guy I’d love to deal with.
So last Friday, I decided to support Andrew Scheer. He is the one that has the most backing within the CPC and by a long shot.
I went on Scheer’s web site, found the address, and made out a cheque for my membership, along with a donation. On Sat. the 25th, I went to a small rural post office and mailed my letter. That outlet was opened so I had the Postmaster date the letter for that day.
This AM I started to ponder on what happens if my cheque doesn’t get there today. (28th.) Both the cheque and the enveloppe were dated 25th, however I wanted to make sure that was legal, and that it would give me the right to vote in the election. So I phoned Mr. Scheer’s number, (the one that is listed on his campaign site,) and guess what?? Nobody answered. It was 10:00 AM and now it’s 10:50 PM and they’re still not answering. I find it peculiar that a person who wants to be the next PM of Canada would not have someone answering the phone on the eve of what could be the most important deadline of his life.
I did leave a message, and no one got back to me. Had they contacted me, it was still time for me to buy my membership with a credit card, although I don’t like doing that. On the other hand, they didn’t seem all that interested in winning, now did they?? We’ll see what happens.

While I was working on my last 2 degrees, I noticed that many of my fellow grad students came from there as did several new faculty members.
By then, many companies had farmed out their research and development activities to university engineering and science departments. Considering that much of that work was and still is done under all sorts of agreements regarding confidentiality, some of it might be of interest to foreign powers.

Good. More people need to start protesting at Trudeau events. I think it would not take much for him to crumble. Probably why they are attempting to cut down on his Parliamentary “work load”. He will fall apart once he realizes the real world does not conform to his platitudes.

The senator is correct. Almost every successful aboriginal leader and businessperson came through the residential school system. There is far too much emphasis on the small percent who want to play victim for compensation instead of those who benefited from the useful education it gave them. The abuse was caused by the churches that administered the schools not the government, but the government is viewed as the best source for compensation money. It’s all about the money, as usual.
