Rarely does it take so long to debunk a study but then again, few studies give so little information while making so many claims about kids, guns and safety.

“this video is restricted”
youtube is getting realllll sensitive about content these days. whats up?
I’ve been waiting for the opening moves in gun control by this Liberal government, and it started with their intent to bring our laws into step with the UN rules, included in last week’s omnibus budget Bill.
This is how it starts,a liberal activist group produces false and fantastic “studies” and they’re repeated in every news venue in the Country.I saw these scare stories on every TV network in Canada, repeated with great alarm by all the newsreaders.
I suppose the RCMP will be chiming in on restricting semi-autos,like the notorious Cooey Model 64 with which I callously murdered innocent bunny rabbits, and devoured them, in my youthful days!
Roasted over a fire,not raw!
You just KNEW it would happen eventually, with this government, ya just wondered, when?
Right now,it seems.
C’mon! All one needs to do to make sense of this study is take into account that the chief cause of type II diabetes is chewing pop-tarts into play guns!
We have to protect the snowflakes since they are still children
Millennials Don’t Consider Themselves Adults Until 30
The Liberals have forgot what it’s like to spend 10 years in opposition. Go ahead, kick the hornet’s nest. Bring it on.
I hope those aren’t “Nazi” “guns”. The MSM will get upset.

One of the most interesting statistics I noticed in this “study” was that almost 70 percent of all assault related gun injuries were committed by IMMIGRANTS FROM AFRICA AND CENTRAL AMERICA !!!!
It’s a flawed study that only appeals to urban lieberals with preconceived notions about ‘gun control’. These are the same people who believe muslimes are victims of islamophobia. I couldn’t care less what the idiots in the GTA think about anything. They might as well be living on the dark side of the moon.
The biggest joke in Canada is gun control. I was raised in the 50’s and 60’s when you could be jailed for having a couple of joints in your glove box. How many people ever went to jail for having weed if it was for their own use?? In the 60’s, I recall the teachers in school telling us that if two (or more) boys were caught in a sexual act among themselves, they could be jailed.
The joke was that if a Mountie wanted to jail a homo, he (they) first had to be charged with ”arson.”
Back a few years ago when the Liberals first talked of gun control, thousands of guns, many that were restricted weapons, entered Canada. Those guns were dispersed amongst the population, thanks to the Liberals. The guns are still there today, they’ll still be there in 100 years from now.
No form of government on earth was ever able to stop illegal arms. If they could, there would never have been wars or revolutions. If a crook or a mercenary needs a gun, he or she will have it in an hour.
I’ve seen 16 year old kids take a shotgun, saw it down, and the result was a powerful and easily concealed weapon. Especially when filled with 12 gauge BB shot. I saw a video a few years ago where a guy (USA) bought 12 AK-47s and 5000 rounds of Ammo within less than a day. Now they’re working on stuff like lasers, RPGs and and electromagnetic weapons.
During WWII, when Glycol antifreeze was restricted for aircraft, my Dad went to a farm near Moose Jaw, Sk and saw six 45 gal. drums of Prestone Antifreeze in a shed. Glycol that was meant for the RCAF. The guy was selling it to whoever had the cash.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I agree. I also have been waiting for when they would start to demonize firearms owners again to soften up the public for another assault.
Just like the so-called only a motion now M-103, this will eventually lead somewhere not nice for firearms owners.
John Galt, it may be appealing to urban snots, but we will pay the price. They eventually want all firearms confiscated. Wendy Cukier has said that is what their ultimate aim is.
Meh, when 3D printing of metal, ceramics and durable plastics gets to the masses, gun control will become a dead letter.
What they want and what they get are entirely different. I’ve been hearing the “firearms will be confiscated” bullshit ever since the Firearms Act was drafted. I’m not the least bit concerned that any of my firearms will ever be confiscated nor am I concerned that ‘islamophobia’ will ever become a crime. If you believe that, then they win. Some people just love to be worried about ‘what ifs’, it’s called paranoia.
Some people just love to be worried about ‘what ifs’
– Doesn’t mean they won’t try.
Restricted’s have been registered in Canada since 1934. And yeah, there are lots ‘n lots that aren’t registered, but the Gummint knows where all the ones that ARE registered, reside; and when the mounties show-up at your door with a federally-generated Search & Seizure Order, what’re you gonna’ do? You’ll NEVER get them back and you’ll NEVER get compensated for loss of your (often, very valuable) private property.
As always, the people who comply with gun laws are people you didn’t have to worry-about in the first place; and they could care less. To the unwashed, the Gummint is “doing something about gun crime!!!” and the votes of the unwashed is all the Gummint cares about.
” I’m not the least bit concerned that any of my firearms will ever be confiscated nor am I concerned that ‘islamophobia’ will ever become a crime…:
Then, you have far more faith in our so-called democracy than I do.
The CMA paper included persons 24 years of age and under – not exactly my idea of children or youths. So, this data would include virtually all the targets of gang shootings in Ontario cities – and a good chunk of that crowd are indeed members of gangs with an almost exclusively Somali component. So when you start adding up the dead and wounded punks, the intended shock value of the headlines melts away.
I agree this study will be quoted and used incessantly by people who have an agenda to remove all firearms from Canadians. Remember the “study” of deaths in Ont resulting from coal burning power generation, and the health cost of continuing with this. The study has been thoroughly debunked and exposed as nonsense, but Liberals used it for years in election campaigns, media still refer to it. If the conclusions of deaths were accurate, how would anyone survive in West Virginia or Kentucky? Nobody cares to ask the obvious, because physicians conduct it, it must be true.
A little bit of skepticism is called for when considering any of these agenda driven studies.
Look forward to hearing a lot of reference to this claim.

“I’ve been hearing the “firearms will be confiscated” bullshit ever since the Firearms Act was drafted”
Tell that to everyone who had to turn in newly minted “prohibited weapons” from lists made at the drop of a hat over the years.
If your not concerned, don’t be. The rest of us will stick to fighting for our property and other rights. It’d be nice if you stayed out of the way, but whatever another bump in the road is another bump in the road.

Drivers:
“I’m not the least bit concerned that the government will put checkpoints in the streets and screen drivers for alcohol.”

“I’m not the least bit concerned that the government will take my firearms.”

Gun Control is being able to hit your target…

Who on this forum has ever had any firearm confiscated. What firearm, when? First hand experience only, anecdotal stories don’t count.
John Gault >
Stop being a complete doush bag here, plenty of Canadians have lost firearms due to prohibitions, the Swiss Arms was a fairly recent ban. I personally have a prohibited licence that came into effect in the late 90’s for firearms that I once owned freely and now need to sell (to another prohibited carry) or destroy. NO passing down for inheritance.
So you are welcome to piss off with your “duck guns”, hopefully they don’t make a future prohibited list because your neighbour doesn’t like you owning them.
Another recent ban was the Ruger (25) round 10/22 magazines in 2013 , because someone figured out that they also fit a rugger pistol that no one in Canada cares to own.
There are plenty of examples, (too many to mention here) so I’m not going to waste any more time on it. So in a nutshell, feel free call yourself a hypocritical asshole for calling out Canadian firearm owners protecting the very few rights they have left, if and when, they decide to take whatever you own – and YOU start to whine about it.
You can find a complete list of banned, prohibited and restricted firearms that Canadians once owned freely on-line!
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/prohibited-prohibe-eng.htm
Otherwise we’ll protect our rights despite you.
You’re the one being an asswhole by trying to make it personal, instead of rationally discussing the issue like an adult. Grow the fvck up and act like a responsible firearm owner. It’s people with attitudes like yours that give firearm owners a bad name.
Continued……for anyone owning Ruger 10/22 rifles and the (25) round magazines……..
Tens of thousands if not a million Canadians own the very common & popular Ruger 10/22 rifle. Most of whom have no idea that they are NOW criminals because they were not made aware that the commonly sold 25 round magazines, which sold for decades, have been quietly made illegal.
Again, other .22 rimfire semi-auto rifles (same, same) utalizing similar (25) round magazines are completely legal, only that they do not have a recently manufactured pistol on the market that also coincidentally accepts the same 25 round magazine.
Therefore Canadians of all stripes, who do not own “the pistol”, are essentialy made criminals overnight for owning the very thing they have owned for decades with no prior warnings or letters , or e-mail of any sort from the RCMP. (The RCMP have a licence database to contact potential owners) A database they computer check EVERY DAY for potential overnight felonies committed by licensed Canadian firearm owners. Everyone licensed in Canada with a PAL is checked daily for prior 24 hour arrests.
The only way for Ruger 10/22 owners to know other than word of mouth is by checking the RCMP website to find out that their property has now made them susceptible to jail time and/or large fines, especially if found through a legal warrantless search of a licensed firearm owners residence. Licensed Canadian firearms owners give up any Rights to a warranted search of their property & residence.
Not that SDA commenter John Gault gives a flying f*ck about Canadian property rights (except his own no doubt), but others here do, so this is information for them.
Yea the days of politeness for retards that tell everyone else to stand down are over.
You gotta be French.
Yes that Nazi is standing on your neck, so don’t tell me to be quite, I don’t listen to cuckolds. Your beta appeasing is whats wrong with western society today.
YOU are giving firearm owners a bad name, read your own “troll like” comments here and on other threads berating other commentors as if your some sort of sane morel authority. You sound like a complete totalitarian wannabe nut.,
So your opening submission that Liberals do not want to ban the Canadian Publics firearms has been duly noted – NOW FU you simplton.
LOL !! emphasis on ‘dead’.
