  1. this unsettled science is unsettling.
Next up, brain washing create religious belief.

  2. I understand the new technology that made this SHOCKING discovery possible … but it still defies logic that we didn’t discover this lung function until now … in 2017 !! I find it hard to believe that every lung cancer patient didn’t exhibit a loss of blood clotting ability (sharp reduction in platelet count) and therefore medical science should have become suspicious of the linked cause. Or is the platelet creation process “protected” in the lungs … even from cancerous invasion ? If so, we better study the hell out of THAT mechanism … which could lead to a CURE for cancer.
This one is a true SHOCKER. It was unassailable settled science that ALL blood components are created in the bone marrow. Al Gore and the rest of the LIARS in the Global Warming “scientific community” would be well advised to reflect on this SHOCKING … unthinkable … reversal of rock-solid “settled science”.

  3. I’m not shocked that it took a long time to notice what nobody was looking for because most people thought we already knew what the lungs are for.

  4. Yup, accidental discoveries make up a large part of all discoveries.
They have now determined that there maybe a connection between the immune system and autism, and the immune system and the bipolar syndrome. I know a few bipolar (x-girlfriends)females who have other immune issues. So, new discoveries are still in our future, on many fronts I think.

  5. Honestly, since Planned Parenthood has probably killed the person who would have cured cancer already (likely many times), what is the point of studying anything?
If it’s not research on new gender pronouns, what’s the point? PP has likewise already killed whomever would have cured the common cold, the next Mozart…

  6. Harmful chemicals in our food and environment can compromise the immune systems of people who are genetically predisposed to weakened immune systems. It doesn’t surprise me at all that the incidence of autism has increased in proportion to the increased use of highly processed faux-food. We are what we eat.

  7. Everything on the planet is chemical. Just because you cannot pronounce its name … doesn’t make it necessarily dangerous. Having said that … anyone who subsists on a diet of yummy JUNK food, and never eats REAL food is intentionally STARVING their body of nutrients that cannot be fully replicated in the laboratory. I believe there are still complex compounds that we don’t yet understand in natural foods that combine to provide the essential nutrition for humans.
So … I see our modern nutritional DEFICIENCIES as MORE a problem than the “chemical” additives (all of which have been rigorously tested by our food and drug agencies). It isn’t the ADDITION of junk food … but the SUBTRACTION of crucial nutrients that is the problem.
And BTW … my own personal (decidedly unscientific) observation is that the parents of “autistic” (and other troubled) children seem to all come from a certain demographic. A demographic which seem to always fully embrace your notion of “chemical poisoning”. And I might add that revised “official” definitions of (often behavioral) diagnoses like autism … have been broadened to the point of absurdity. Wherein my very-quiet mathematics graduate son would now be categorized as “autistic”. Utter RUBBISH. He simply has a personality that is nearer to one end of the bell curve … but he has no other issues other than not being quite as verbose as his old man.

  8. “Another reason not to smoke.”
Except for cannabis – which Donald Tashkin found to be mildly protective against lung cancer. No further studies have been done in 15 years to confirm or deny what Tashkin found.

  9. “Honestly, since Planned Parenthood has probably killed the person who would have cured cancer already (likely many times), what is the point of studying anything?”
Actually, Planned Parenthood is mostly killing off future Democrats.
I fail to see why that is a problem. But I guess some people see a great need for more socialists.
