European Union legislators have “overwhelmingly” voted to lift the EU parliamentary immunity of French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen for tweeting pictures of Isis violence.
Ms Le Pen, a member of the European parliament, is under investigation in France for posting three graphic images of Isis executions on Twitter in 2015, including the beheading of the United States journalist James Foley.
Responding to a request from the French judiciary, the EU MEPs in the legal affairs committee voted to lift her immunity, EU officials said. The committee’s decision will have to be backed by the whole parliament in a second vote, possibly this week.
Ms Le Pen’s immunity shields her from prosecution and lifting it would permit legal action against her. The offence being considered is “publishing violent images,” which under certain circumstances can carry a penalty of three years in prison and a fine of €75,000 (£64,000).

She’s going to win.

  3. I wouldn’t count on her winning. If it looks like she will become President of France and take France out of the EU they will find some way to get rid of her. I expect she might be lucky if she only ends up in jail. I wouldn’t put it past them to kill her off.

  5. When truth becomes prosecutable in criminal matters, freedom is lost.
    When truth becomes no defense in civil/regulatory matters, as in kangaroo human rights apparatchiks, freedom is lost.
    When a media, to suit their own agenda and biases, outright fabricates reality to hapless voters, freedom is lost.
    When conduct is judged through the lens of ethnocentrism and ideology, freedom is lost.
    When courts line up along ideological lines, freedom is lost.
    But sometimes there is no choice, that’s why Trump is president, not Hillary.
    We can all be equal or we can all be free. But we can’t all be equal and free; in the world of uber government, those ideas are mutually exclusive.
    And yes, freedom is lost. Big time.

  11. You can bet that in the house of cards called the European Union there will be another Roland Freisler that will be in charge of bringing le Pen to trial and convicting her. After Trump’s speech last night the left are going to pull out all of the stops as they finally realize their dream of domination is slowly slipping away. As Lord Moncton warned us they were going to get rid of Harper and insert Trudeau and they thought that Hillary was a shoo-in. What they didn’t count on was the upstart Farage upsetting their applecart by rallying the Brits in the Brexit referendum and then the dark horse, Trump rallying the working class in America. So now they will stop at nothing to try and get hold of the reins. We truly live in interesting times and we may live to see another incursion of Allied troops moving in to save Europe from itself.

  13. The EU is hoping to make this vote become Marine’s version of Trump’s “pussy-grabbing” October surprise. After witnessing her RISE in the polls as … supposedly … the consequence of her opponents various “controversies” … the EU has decided to FABRICATE a little “controversy” for Marine.
    I don’t believe it will work any more effectively than Hillary’s DIRTY-ops worked for HER. And WORSE … it is likely to create even MORE SUPPORT for Marine as the French people recognize the purely INSANE DEATH WISH that the EU is forcing France to accept.
    The EU bureaucrats will soon find themselves … LORDS of nothing.

    So this Le Pen lady is “far right”.
    What does that mean?
    If you read British news websites, it appears that anything that is one degree off the socialism is “far right “. This is, as though standard practice of the British press that has run out of repeating standard extreme syntax and is using the maximum extremist language. One can only wonder what will they use 5 years from now, would it be something like the devils? The lucifer or is there something more extremist than that.
    Don’t know what this lady is about, try as one can there is not much to go on.
    The European Parliament is full of international socialists, this is only slightly different than national socialists if at all.
    The action that the European Parliament took is obviously, no mistake, to shut up somebody that irritates them.
    It would seem that the European Parliament is on track to dictatorship, they have the bureaucracy and the rulers that will promulgate soon some laws that they will insist is very good for the ruled over.
    Human existence goes around apparently in circles though it looks more like spiral that begins with a circle so large that it is unpercievable that nobody notices until it’s too late.
    It looks as though we are closer to the spiral end than the beginning.

    Le Pen took exception to part of Jean-Jacques Bourdin’s radio show
    “Bourdin, who was in a talk with Arab specialist Gilles Kepel, said: “I would like to address the links between Daesh and the Front…well not direct links between Daesh and the Front National, but rather this isolationism that ultimately is a community spirit… because the aim for Daesh is to push the French society to isolationism”.”
    What happened then was
    “She then replied to the radio host by posting three graphic pictures of orange-clad hostages being run over by an IS tank, burnt alive in a cage and beheaded with the comment: “THAT is Daesh”.”
    I think, and probably you think, that this was a measured appropriate response but the French bedwetters who are currently in power took great exception to this.
    Unfortunately, they haven’t thought this one through. People will already have read this story and thought, “What’s wrong with that? This is the establishment using the law to persecute its opponents because it’s running scared.”
    That is not a good message to put out. People don’t like being pushed around by the elites and even if the case is dropped, it will add a few points to her popularity. And these will be people who are now looking for dirty tricks so whatever allegations are made in future they are going to discount as political gaming. It’s almost time for the French elections and she is already the front runner. I think that all she needs to do now is hang on in there and she will be the next president.
    This is another massive own goal by the establishment.

  35. Most of the actions they take can be easily understood. They have disarmed citizenrys, they have standing armies, they have legislated for themselves 24/7/365 armed protection. Simply put, they are entirely convinced that no matter what happens to anyone else, they will be protected personally, they have a government bunker to retreat to. They honestly believe that even if the world were literally burning, they would be OK.
    That is the fortress that has to crack before sanity can make a comeback. Ambassador Stevens getting the gank didn’t start anything, because he wasn’t one of them. Hillary ignored his communications, because Stevens wasn’t marked “FOB” (friend of Bill). Until someone who has played golf with Obama gets taken down by IS or Boko, it will be status quo.
    The thing about IS and all those others, is they know this too. They know who the free targets are, and who must not be touched until later. They are playing a long game, but the Clinton’s are deluded; they actually think they have true allies.
    Our “leaders” have started from a false premise; but they are unwilling to admit even the smallest error. That is why it is truly a curse to live in interesting times.

  37. If Marine Le Pen were to post photos of the aftermath of the I.S.I.S. attacks in Nice, the Bataclan, Charlie Hebdo and the Kosher grocery in Paris et al.
    That would violate this same law she is being threatened with prosecution under.
    If convicted the French citizens may have to storm the Bastille to free her…
    This would be seen as an obligation of loyalty to France. To their national independence day, Bastille Day, a day of liberation from tyranny.
    Cultural Marxists have no sense of irony.
