“For the time being, he will not be carrying out the functions of VCDS. Vice-Admiral Ron Lloyd has been appointed as the interim vice-chief of the defence staff.”
Though rhe contents of the leaks are unkown the journalist speculates as to whom the victims might be. First on that short list was journalists.. Hmmmm.
Key words,”leaks” and “sources say”…what else do we have here? Who will get the “scoop”?
With a standinf army, the first thing would be dictators do is remove everyone who might oppose them. We saw Obama doing this. Then you install people who are unquestionably loyal to you personally. Look at Cuba, Venezuela, Germany for the results of that. Just reading about a German deserter, was seeing immigrant gang rapes on minors, and was actually told to shut up and not talk to anyone about it. So he deserted instead.
To add to the comments above the Vice-Admiral was outspoken and must have upset his political masters. I believe it has been mentioned before on these pages that the top appointments are heavily politically influenced. Non Liberals do not often obtain those high ranks.

“Temporary” suspension suggests the CDS thinks the VCDS’s failure to keep some information secure might be not intentional. Still a serious matter that will almost certainly cost Admiral Norman his current appointment and at that level, that’s the end of career, but not necessarily criminal charges or court martial. (It’s not easy to court martial someone that high up, if only because there aren’t a lot of candidates of sufficient rank to be appointed to the court.)
