  1. OK, I listened to the entirety of Trudeau’s long response and this is what I got from it…..
    Tough sh*t, lady.

  2. All the weaselling in the world couldn’t dig him out of this one. Had to shift the blame onto Wynne, normally a kindred ally, but expendable when backed into a corner.

  3. It can be argued that Canada has more energy – from a plethora of sources – assets per capita than any other country on earth.
Yet Ontario and other provinces have some of the highest electricity rates on the continent.
Apparently for the first time in forty years healthcare is no longer the number one issue in Ontario opinion polls – electricity rates are. ($300/month for the average suburban home heated by natural gas).

  4. Hydro is a provincial responsibility. However, the Ontario style of energy policy is what Trudeau wants for the whole country, and he wants a “federal” “share” of it, hence the carbon tax. Because, you know, people just aren’t paying enough for their energy in Canada.

  5. I live in energy poverty
The Eco-insane frauds have created the most REGRESSIVE tax on the hard working middle class in the history of the world. All in the name of ‘carbon’. And now according to a boy punk PM … because Canada is “in transition” … “shifting off fossil fuels”. Oh really ? You are “shifting” via economic punishment of the innocent. You are FORCING people to STOP using energy just as if you are putting a gun to their heads. This TAX is violence aimed at every citizen of Canada. Sorry, PM ghoul … your “extreme weather” events are completely bogus. Global warming is FRAUD ! The left has a bootheel on the faces of every Canadian … all in a ghoulish attempt to destroy our capitalist system. An economic system that has delivered the highest standard of living in the history of the world.
“Sorry ma’am … I feel your pain … but YOU need to be sacrificed to the great green Gaia god. Ha ha ha ha ha …” And all your $$$ will be stuffed into the pockets of the Eco-elites. Massive welfare for leftist Eco-elites.
Sorry Canada … but YOU VOTED for this. Because of a famous name, and an adorable face. Dumb. Really dumb. Elections have consequences.

  6. some would ask what is wrong with this country, the answer is simple liberalism. Liberalism will destroy this country

  7. The only word that comes to mind watching that is “scumbag”. “Shiny Pony” no longer applies.

  8. PM Zoolander is just dreamy and righteous and needs to give this woman a lock of his sumptuous hair.

  9. Enjoy that hydro bill Liberal!! Reality sucks, but by moving off fossil fuel means that you will have to freeze your ass off in the winter and cook in the summer. So quit her Wynning!
As for trusting God and Trudeau to fix it, I’m sure it was discussed down in Bell Island…

  10. Video cuts out shortly after it starts playing. Went to Global News and found it, it cuts out at the same place. Seems like someone doesn’t want us to hear that.

  11. This is the same approach The Liberal Party of Canada (5-C’s) Cargo Cult Corrupt Crony Crowd; used with the Canada Health Act.
This was when Liberal P.M. Jean Chretien acknowledged the prolific Spending by P.M. Pierre Elliot Trudeau had set into Place a Deficit We Canadians are still trying to pay down. Chretien cut the Federal Health Care Payments in Half.
Now they (5-C’s) are setting up the Situation where they will, and are presently saying, it is the Provinces Fault the Canadian Citizens are paying out landish Electricity Costs.

  12. “The only word that comes to mind watching that is “scumbag”. “Shiny Pony” no longer applies.”
If you replace the first letter ‘n’ (or both) in ‘Shiny Pony’ with the letters ‘tt’ you may find that the new word(s) applies.
    You’re welcome…

  13. I don’t disagree with the pretty face comment, but what is our excuse in Ontario for that other hideous face?

  14. Had to stop watching after 1:00. If I waited for the typical, stuttering vacuous response I probably would have taken my monitor and thrown it through the window.
I wrote my MP (with a copy to Rona Ambrose) to ask the Prime Minister (all ethical questions aside) how he can justify relaxing on the beach with the Aga Khan while I, and the rest of my fellow Albertans are being punished for trying to stay warm.
I know the response will be something along the lines of; “Parceque Je suis Le Dauphin, mange le gateaux tu peasant”

  15. Tru(annoyed grunt) can try to pass the buck all he wants to Wynne, however, it was previous Premier McGuinty who got the ball rolling with the help if his friend Gerald Butts.
If only there was a way to find out what Butts is up to these days.

  16. Sorry Canada … but YOU VOTED for this. Because of a famous name, and an adorable face. Dumb. Really dumb. Elections have consequences.
Exactly. I just smile and say “You asked for this” to every Lieberal who complains about anything.

  17. In Peterborough no less, where they voted for the very first Afghan(no wait – Iranian)-Canadian MP!! Bwahahaha!

  18. “Hydro is a provincial responsibility.”
    Bingo.
A smarter Federal leader would have been able to duck out on this one right there (“Gee, sorry, lady, I feel your pain but that’s a provincial issue; maybe you should be beating on your premier.”
But not our Dear Leader who, through his carbon fantasies, has let himself be dragged down into the mire on this one.

  19. This was in the comments under the Global story.
“He’s proven today he’s not just hanging out with rich millionaires. I’m not a rich millionaire, he came out and spoke to me today,” she said. “I’m proud of him.”
This comment made by the “Hydro” woman after Trudeau’s answer.

  20. “‘He’s proven today he’s not just hanging out with rich millionaires. I’m not a rich millionaire, he came out and spoke to me today,’ she said. ‘I’m proud of him.'”
Aw… don’t the little people say the darndest things?
    So cute!

  21. She is putting all her faith in God and Justin Trudeau? I think he probably stopped listening at that precise moment.

  22. on those occasions when the local hydro utility sends a reminder and I get around to calling them back, the conversation wraps with the agent asking if there is anything else they can help with.
after a well rehearsed pause, I ask them to send a memo to the entire office staff and ask if the biggest strongest person on the payroll could hop on a train to Queens Park, track down Wynne, and punch her in the face real hard 10 times and demand she STOP doing things to make hydro costs in this miserable province among the most expensive on the continent.
    ah, t’were there the means to actually arrange this . . . . .

  23. He can’t really tell her the truth, can he? Because the truth is:
“Tough sh1t lady. We’re stealing your money because you’re STUPID and you voted Liberal. Now get back to work and pay that bill.”

  24. I haven’t seen Justin’s response yet, but my initial guess of a truthful response would be, ‘M’am, you have nobody else to blame but yourself. You screwed up by firstly approaching me and expecting that I would care to fix any of your problems. Secondly, you assume that I would not support a Hydro bill that is sufficiently large enough to dissuade you from unnecessary use of electricity. That’s why the electricity price is so high – to make it prohibitively expensive to use more. It’s the only way of saving the planet, you know, so you should be behind this power pricing 100%.’
Unfortunately I don’t think Justin would give such an honest answer to the woman. Now off to watch the video so see what he did say.

  25. This video is very significant. Thanks for posting Lance. In a few minutes it essentially sums up the snobbery of the lying elites versus the ordinary hard working middle class.
I plan to forward this far and wide.
Lucky I didn’t punch my phone when Trudeau spoke…because that is what I wanted to do, as a citizen, as an engineer, and as someone who despises all those who milked the global warming fraud.

  26. Following on from my previous comment, I must add that there are few things that I despise more than politicians who patronize those who ask them questions.
Trudeau’s response was typical of liberal elites “I understand your concern, poor you, but by the way, you are an idiot. Next question please.”
Bastard, just like his damned father, and a perfect fool and puppet for the global warming fraudsters.

  27. Same issue Dirtman…the video cuts out after the woman says her hydro costs more than her mortgage. Very interesting this Fifth Estate.

  28. I just talked to a friend in the Ottawa Valley, hydro for a modest house on his street is about $250 a month, I told him about this youtube video and he laughed and said that woman has a rural operation, heated barn with heated water system, she keeps pet horses, I don’t know if it’s true but I’d like to see more information on Ontario utility bills.

  29. With a whopping $1000 a month Hydro bill, despite the onerous, arrogant, and out of touch knobs with the “wynneing” team, first thing I would be doing is looking, VERY HARD at alternative sources to heat.
    Firewood
    Propane
    Oil
    Hybrid Heat Pump system
All should be far cheaper than the monstrosity of Hydro.
If true about the outbuildings, well, yeah, those are luxuries, to re-examine.
But, given all that, why hasn’t there been a mass exodus out of Morontariowe? Do the majority of citizens actually nod in agreement, pay their outrageous bills, don’t complain, and take up the backside with a smile on their face? Something doesn’t add up.

  30. The REALlY angry crowd are a few years off. Wait until the whole eco-energy infrastructure completely breaks down. Once main bearings start ceasing in the bird dicers and solar wears out the whole system will have to be re-designed and rebuilt. Those costs will be measured in $TRILLIONS. Tell the ANGRY mob we saved the planet.

  31. “I put my trust in God and you ”
Maybe she can burn her “Anybody but Harper” sign for heat this winter.
She knows we need the HST, and thousands of refugees, and taxes. This piece of work voted liberal all her life, how else does she get an invite to the pony show? Screw her. She got exactly what she voted for.

  32. If you’re paying $1085 a month a to heat your home; I agree it is too much.
When the kids were tiny about 18 years ago, I put double the insulation in the ceiling; which made the house more thermally efficient. Less heat loss during the winter, and less heat induction during the summer hot months. Made the place twice as comfortable. Best $500.00 I’ve ever spent on the home as for the last 20 odd years this has more than paid for itself.
Thermally efficient windows installed cost $6000.00 for the whole house about 10 years ago, and doors properly caulked and efficiently sealed. Skipped three vacations to sunny places unlike PM Trudeau.
Recently, I’ve been on a campaign to replace all the old incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs using approximately one tenth the power output but equivalent or better luminescence. So far about half way through the house, I’ve shaved approximately 15% off the monthly electrical bill. Also environmentally friendly as compared to CFC bulbs as they finally got the physics and efficiency right.
Grandma may not have passed an elementary physics class and should get some advice on how to make the home more thermally and electrically efficient! STEP ONE: CLOSE THE DANG DOOR WHEN ITS -26C!
In case of electrical loss, we have a gas insert fireplace downstairs, which can act as a backup; and if it all goes to hell in handcart due to earthquake the upstairs fireplace can still burn wood, provided the house is still standing. I keep about a cord of wood under the deck and axe sharpened when I need it.
YOU ARE A CANADIAN, WINTERS ARE COLD, WHAT DID YOUR MOTHER TELL YOU ABOUT BEING PREPARED!?!
Wear a sweater and a jacket…that PM Trudeau wanted to send to Iraq? Maybe he has some leftovers or hand me downs.
Looking for relief from a politician is a lost cause, this gal needs some construction/renovation advice or a move to smaller digs. Barring that when does PM Trudeau take this grandma on one of his sunny vacations so she can thaw out of the Canadian winter.
$1085 a month on heat and electricity… what are you heating a 50,000 square foot warehouse?
I don’t need to change my behaviour, I’VE ALREADY ANTICIPATED that politicians make universally bad power and thermal decisions. Shameless disclaimer: My father is a retired hydro electric engineer.
    Cheers

  33. To yop: it depends if she has no choice but to heat with electricity. Here in BC we have a two-tier rate structure which we have been fighting with the government about for years. Those of us who have to heat with electricity (no natural gas, not using wood), pay exorbitant rates, probably close to the higher Ontario rates.
My bill in the middle of last winter was $1,750 for two months. No pool. No hot tub. Family of 5.
And frankly who cares if she has a horse and heated water for her barn, $1,000/month is obscene and is due only to the utter stupidity of politicians that meddle in energy policy and who have been mesmerized by the lies of the global warming fraudsters. By the way, $250 per month for a modest house is ridiculous too.
Trudeau is an ass. Wynn is an ass. They are all asses.
    Go Trump.

  34. No sympathy for her, but she may be useful. Hearing such pleas from his own fans and not being able to to fix it by having their picture taken with him just might plant a seed of doubt in his tiny mind. Might.

  35. Yeah, but if you’re living in Lower Mainland BC you’re not experiencing the climate that 98% of Canadians have to contend with to heat their houses.
