  1. Why? It’ll just inspire him to make lists of undesirables and confiscate all their stuff.

  2. Cute alright. But they can’t hold a candle to my old Greater Glengarry Moosehound, Jerome, when he was a young’un. A regular tick, sorry chick, magnet he was.

  3. They’re okay, but no dog holds a candle to my Long-Haired Chihuahua. Pecos is incredibly brilliant considering his brain is the size of a walnut. He knows five tricks and accompanies me on four to eight mile hikes. I do have an art piece on the wall:
Wake me when the Chihuahua is house broken. Rip Van Winkle

  4. Heartwarming photo of the pups!! Like my Grandmother used to say. Too bad they can’t stay like that forever!!

  5. The Finns who have a long tradition in the blood sports use Dachshunds to hunt Whitetail deer. Going back 80 or so years the Finns imported some Whitetail from Minnesota. The deer thrive in the boreal habitat and they are now the 2nd largest Whitetail herd in the world.
The dogs are fitted with a bright hunting coat and tracking collar. They drive the deer past stands where the hunters are located. The dachshunds are enthusiastic and venture forth ‘giving tongue’ (the huntsman’s term for barking) when they encounter fresh scent.

  6. The Chinese business method is to ship a satisfactory product, then gradually reduce the quality of components and the skill of the assemblers until the purchaser complains. Adjustments are quickly made until the buyer is once again satisfied, then the process starts all over again. American importers – some of them – are learning that. Others don’t until it’s too late.

  7. I’m hoping when I get to heaven (and at ae 88 that will be sooner rather than later) that I will find all breeds of dogs (except man-made ones) running around. If there are trees, there has to be dogs. (No cats tho’.)

  8. I wasn’t aware that they were used for deer hunting as dachshunds were originally bred for hunting badgers. (Dachshund literally means badger hound in German.)
The first one my parents had liked chasing after gophers. They visited me one spring when I was living in southern Alberta and they brought her along. One day, we went for a drive and stopped by an empty field. It didn’t take for her to make a beeline to wherever she saw a gopher sticking up out of its mound, barking enthusiastically all the way.

  9. Donald Trump did more for the stock market in the past month than Man Bun Fidelfan ever did in the last year. And Trump hasn’t even been inaugurated.
