  6. I find it incredulous that an apparently well-educated Millennial could actually believe that “The Bank” GAVE his dad a FREE loan, and that his dad got a job for nothing more than a handshake. What a fool. This boomer bought his first house by stretching his (near) fast-food level white collar wages to the breaking point. And borrowed the down payment (disguised with a “gift” letter) from my employer. My wife and I went without many, many, luxuries (like eating out … and virtually ALL entertainment) while we struggled to make our house payment. That was our CHOICE. Because we believed in the housing market … and more importantly believed in ourselves … and our ability to improve ourselves and our wages. And my wife and I both had been REJECTED for jobs before we became gainfully employed. Bottom line is that the Millennial generation has been brainwashed by their hardcore leftist LOSER public school teachers. We have achieved our relatively comfortable life by: 1) Hard work, 2) Smart choices, 3) discipline, 4) deferred gratification (for the most part). And most of all, by SELF dependence. We have never taken a dime from our government … no, we have just paid, and paid, and paid, and paid, and paid, and paid, and paid … Thankfully, we taught our own children the same lessons, and taught them to ignore the falsehoods they were “taught” by their public school teachers. My son received the very first job that he ever applied-for, and then the next stepped-up job he interviewed-for. His math degree and personal accomplishments sure helped. And my daughter traveled 3000 miles to NYC with no job prospect, couch surfed with friends, then received her first job ever applied for … despite her History degree (from UCLA). Her infectious personality, cheerful positive attitude, creativity, and work ethic has made her a huge success in her field. Millennials CAN replicate the success of baby-boomers … with the proper attitude and skills.

    I am convinced that the FEDs leftist leadership blamed high interest rates for Ronald Reagan’s landslide victories, and didn’t want to repeat that error after an Obama presidency. So they have crushed the interest rates to zero … to prop-up an Obama presidency. Sorry, Janet … it didn’t work. We got Trump anyway. Obama has been an utter FAILURE … despite your artificial monetary policy

  9. This “hardcore leftist loser public school teacher” was born into situational poverty, did 18 months in Viet-Nam, worked double shifts through university, and teaches English usage and literature from a traditional point-of-view in a nifty little public community college.

  10. My own wife is a public school teacher, however, she is (by necessity) a stealth conservative. Her school was filled with Substitute teachers the Wednesday following HER historic election LOSS. Seems as though all her hardcore LOSER liberal colleagues couldn’t get out of bed.
    Me ? Parents divorced at age 5 … my only childhood memories include screaming, yelling, and dishes breaking. Me ? I lived in abject poverty with my single mother until she remarried a MUCH OLDER man, who already raised his adult kids and didn’t want any more children. So my own mother went back to court to voluntarily relinquish custody (read: get rid of) of my older brother and I (at age 9), and give us to our alcoholic father. She got free. My brother and I didn’t. We were captive in the living hell of a dysfunctional, alcoholic who couldn’t hold down a job. In Jr. Hi. I had to call 911 because our apartment manager beat the sh*+ out of my dad and knocked him down half a flight of concrete stairs. He deserved it, and no charges were filed. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks. My brother and I had to steal food from Safeway just to eat. And when I was a freshman in highschool age 15, I left “home” and went to live with friends in an adjacent city. I had to hitchhike to school for 2 years morning and afternoon … because I didn’t want to change schools and change friends. I hid my family life from everyone, because I didn’t want anyone to know what my life was really like – a poor kid with NO family. I only wanted to be NORMAL. My own teachers would pass me by and never offered a ride. Never stop. Never question why I hitched every day. My own football coach passed me by with my thumb out every day for 2 years. All I wanted … was a NORMAL life. Unfortunately, I didn’t get one. So I dedicated my life to making certain that I could have children who GOT what I didn’t. I attended Jr. College because my high school grades were somewhat impacted by my living conditions. Straight A’s in Jr. College got me into the 4 year school of my choice. I have scratched and clawed my way my whole life. Alone. My brother died of a rare cancer (lymphoma) at age 28. I was CRUSHED … even more than when my first wife decided to change her name from Linda to Mahalia Rebya … and join some loosely organized cult. Still NONE of that destroyed me … because I am somewhat immune to tragedy. My horrifying “childhood” has made me … well somewhat mentally tough. Lucky for me, I found one of the sweetest, most giving women on the planet … and raised my children as far opposite from my own upbringing as humanly possible. Along the way, I have met people who inspired me, helped me, and encouraged me. I am indebted to every single one of them. And the ONLY ones who ever GAVE or CARED … were “fundamentalist” (by the world terms) Christians. Never proselytizing … just GIVING. That’s about as brief a thumbnail as I can possibly give. Trust me … there is a LOT more. … why do you ask ?

    Gee pere has always been an idiot and a small part of the reason the Globe and Mail is in terminal decline. Gee fils just sounds like an entitled dope.
    There are plenty of millennials who have decent jobs or have started excellent companies; I suspect most of them we not handicapped by a dad convinced that global warming is real and that his (and my) generation had incredibly cushy lives. Tell that to the Boomers living around me who lost their livelihoods when the mills closed down and the logging crews were replace by faller bunchers.

    Every time our leftist eco-LIARS in the Dept. of Water Resources issue press releases INSISTING that CA is in the “5th” year of the “most horrific drought in the history of CA” … I just go to the STATE’S own CAL TRANS cams to see with my own eyes how much “drought” is falling in the Sierra. It has been a near record setting WET Fall here in N.CA (where the State’s water supply is located) … yet CA is STILL in the mythical 5th year … yeah, yeah … of the “worst. drought. in. the. history. of. CA. ” … yeah, yeah.

    So 60% of the State is still experiencing “drought”. Uh, why don’t these eco-LIARS tell the population that 60% of the State is a … DESERT !!! So, instead of the “normal” annual rainfall of 3 inches … these desert areas only have 2.7 inches of rain annually averaged over the past 5 years. Ohhhh mammmmaaaa. What UTTER NONSENSE. The State of CA had RECORD-BREAKING rain and snowfall in 2011 … followed by lesser than normal rainfall in 2012, 2013, and 2014. 2015 was ABOVE normal rain and snowfall. And this year is setting-up to be another record-breaker. So CA experienced 3 years of below-normal rain and snowfall. And in a state where that on-again, off-again, rainfall is NORMAL !!! … how can this even be declared a “drought” ? And the “5th” year of a drought ? Can you say Socialist Government fabricated CRISIS !?? Duh.
    Now, the eco-LIE about the CA “drought” is that it has caused ONE MILLION trees to die in CA. Ohhhhhh mamma … until you read that the conifer die-off has been caused by the BARK BEETLE … NOT the “DROUGHT”. And the bark beetle has been killing off conifers in the Sierra since I was a little boy. The rest of the million-tree die-off ? Orchards that were KILLED (pulled out and plowed under) by farmers who could no longer get water deliveries due to the State dumping our reservoirs for the fish … instead of retaining the water for farming. That is called a CHOICE. Not a drought induced die-off. Those farms ONLY EXIST because of water deliveries … not natural rainfall.
    The Northern and Central Sierra have had fantastic rain and snowfall for more than a year … and this year looks to be UUuuuugge !! This is where CA stores 95% of its water. It doesn’t matter how much rain falls in the Southern CA desert. They get ALL their water from the Northern and Central Sierra anyway.
    Once again, the eco-leftists are LYING … and counting on a DUMB public to gobble-up their global warming propaganda. A public who has ZERO education about their states REAL ecology. These eco-LIARS are showing satellite photos of every reservoir in CA … EXCEPT the ones that COUNT (for the water supply). Lake Shasta, Oroville, Hetch-Hetchy, and dozens of other PRIMARY water supplies are doing JUST FINE .. and are NOT experiencing drought conditions. This is ALL about extending the “crisis” … and “certifying” the effects of global warming. The LIES coming from our leftist government are simply disgusting.

  16. I’ve thought about that, but to be honest … I have spent a lifetime of trying to put it all behind me. So much so that I probably have some “repressed memories”, or whatever psychologists would call it. But it would make quite a hair raising tale.
    In every way shape and form, it was my brother and I … against the world. My older brother (21 mos. older) was more of a parent to me than any other adult ever was. Even when our father FORCED us to hand-over the money we collected from our paper routes (remember those ?)
    However the story that I really need to edit and publish is a daily handwritten diary that my grandmother wrote as a 16yo girl DRIVING across the USA (1917) in their Model-A (?) Ford. Took them about 3 months. My Swedish great grandfather was relocating the family from Erie, PA to San Diego, CA (THANK YOU Charles !). There was nary a paved road, and every river crossing was quite an adventure. And her stories about the “Indians” of the Southwest following their car on their “painted ponies”, not knowing whether their intentions were peaceful or not … was amazing to read. Her REAL TIME eyewitness accounts of the journey are fascinating.

  17. Your fur may be getting ruffled from a remark actually not aimed at you. From your mini biography there, I would say you would have to be at least 62-64 and raised under a different style of teaching (or perhaps teachers) then Kenji was referring to. I think younger teachers are coming out from a far more liberal(and not in the good way) and more propagandized schooling system.
