Stop, fools.

I have made no hiding of the fact that I’m currently supporting Maxime Bernier for CPC leadership. I like his economic policies and his general libertarian outlook. One thing is really bothering me, though.
Let us all get one really important thing straight.
It is not racist, misogynistic or xenophobic to propose that immigrants and refugees entering the country each have some face-to-face time in an interview.
I find it ironic, stupid and sickening that you are providing our opposition with the talking points they’ll be using against you if you win. Newsflash, fools, according to the Liberals, the NDP and the media, Conservatives are always going to be racists. We always hate women. We always hate immigrants. Our policies always hurt the poor. We are always against the Native population.
Stop it. Stop it, stop it. Have you learned nothing?
Pleasing your enemies does not make them your friends.
The more you attack Kellie Leitch the more you’re going to lose by and the more I am thinking of pulling from Bernier to Leitch because Conservatives are making their arguments to the media. Like they are your friends?
You had to do the digging on the Liberals various expense scandals. You had to provide the numbers to our “journalists” that proved the impossibility of Shiny’s Syrian refugee plan. You had to force them to recognize the Yazidi. You did this work, not them, YOU. The media were too busy talking about Trudeau’s socks and counting his abs that day. Just stop it, already.
Stop making what they see as their job, easier for them to do.
Here’s a thought. Maybe, just maybe, we had a change election too. Maybe no matter what policy presented or what you did, losing was inevitable. Maybe you learned the wrong lesson last November.
Perhaps, if you start sticking up for straight-forward, reasonable policies and your fellow caucus members who propose them instead of decrying everything that might have something to do with a Turban or a Prayer Mat as rasicst, you might climb in the polls too.
Now, grow up and stop talking out of class.

  1. Presumably that otherwise good rant was directed at the CPC caucus?, membership? leadership hopefulls? what?

  2. Do you think the person/people who need to read this will look on SDA?
Otherwise it’s just preaching to the converted.

  3. Indeed.
I am pro-immigration because we have an inverted population pyramid. I grew up in a family of six kids.
My wife and I had two kids, each of whom have had one child. We need new immigrants.
But I live in a smallish west coast town and I’ve had three instances in the last year – Canadian Tire, London Drugs and B.C. Ferries – where I’ve been unpleasantly surprised to see women wearing niqabs or burkas. And I don’t want this in my Canada. I’m okay with women wearing the hijab because in honesty, I grew up attending Catholic schools with women in not dissimilar religious garb.
But the niqab/burka is a symbol of triumphal Islam, the staking of ground in foreign lands and an in-your-face statement of religion ‘trumping’ nationhood and national ideals.
I have long said to friends that when Zunera Ishaq demanded her ‘right’ to take the oath of citizenship and the court affirmed that right, we thereby forfeited our sovereignty
Sovereignty is understood in jurisprudence as the full right and power of a governing body to govern itself without any interference from outside sources or bodies. In political theory, sovereignty is a substantive term designating supreme authority over some polity.
I also posited that Ms. Ishag was highly unlikely to have sat before an immigration official with her face covered as her ‘interview’ was conducted. Kelly Leitch is entirely correct. We must carefully profile any coming from the middle-east to ensure that Canadian values are accepted even when they may conflict with personal religious, social or cultural values you held in your place you have chosen to emigrate from.
Some of course say that people will simply lie. Taqiya. In some instances, that of course is not just possible but likely. By reason of that argument, we could simply do away with all CBSA officers at every point of entry. Good intelligence, good screening and a firm policy on entry and consequences will all be better than simply acquiescing to the current milque-toast policy of pan-globalist citizenship.

  4. Totally agree with you Lance about the Conservatives become more cohesive.
Unfortunately, there are waaaay too many “progressives” in the fold. The numbers in the Conservative column are dwindling, as most of the nation had been educated by leftists, communists and progressives for almost 50 years now, shoving relative morality and ethics down our throats. Economics, if they are taught, are from the Keynesian viewpoint, with nary a mention of Austrian economics.
The “new” ideas of the left are always presented as the next best thing, devoid of moral thought or consequences, just tingling the feeling buttons in our legs.
A true sign of a progressive is somebody who leads with the line “I’m a fiscal conservative, but socially…” these are the most dangerous within the Conservative movement.
Show me where your heart is leaning, I will show you where your money is being spent. It’s not rocket science. The true test of how progressivism has infiltrated the Conservatives is to look at where they focus their money being spent. The expenditures of our government expose the fact that yesterday’s Liberals/NDPer’s are today’s Conservatives.
Maxine would have been run out of town on a rail if he had been running as federal leader as little as 20 years ago. He is a progressive, but that is the state of our nation and world.

  5. Leitch is the only candidate building and increasing a grassroots support based on a single issue where it is a fact she has the majority of Canadians on her side. She has my support for creating the conversation.

  6. John:
Unless I’m dumber than I think, Kate’s comments are directed to Maxime Bernier.
    Kate:
I don’t think Bernier will change his mind on this one and the fact that he opposes Kelly tells us that his values are based on a fundamentally flawed philosophy.
    No Guff:
I’m with you 100% – heck, Kelly’s suggestion that we should make sure that the people who we to immigrate as future citizens have values in line with the values that have made Canada the country it is today, is sufficient by itself to earn MY support.
I believe we are all children of immigrants, but immigrants who shared basic concepts of good and evil. Our dads and granddads fought and sacrificed for those values, and the “progressives” would have us surrender them without a whimper.

  7. Forgot to mention that I’ve sent Lance’s opinion and my response to it to every one of the leadership candidates as well as many friends.
It remains to be seen how many welcome the message.

  8. Whomever calls out AGW for the fraud that it is gets my vote. No mushy lukewarmist crap though. Must be unequivocal.

  9. http://www.steynonline.com/7293/the-barbarians-are-inside-and-there-are-no-gates
    The only quote that matters:
“To repeat what I said a few days ago, I’m Islamed out. I’m tired of Islam 24/7, at Colorado colleges, Marseilles synagogues, Sydney coffee shops, day after day after day. The west cannot win this thing with a schizophrenic strategy of targeting things and people but not targeting the ideology, of intervening ineffectually overseas and not intervening at all when it comes to the remorseless Islamization and self-segregation of large segments of their own countries.
So I say again: What’s the happy ending here? Because if M Hollande isn’t prepared to end mass Muslim immigration to France and Europe, then his “pitiless war” isn’t serious. And, if they’re still willing to tolerate Mutti Merkel’s mad plan to reverse Germany’s demographic death spiral through fast-track Islamization, then Europeans aren’t serious. In the end, the decadence of Merkel, Hollande, Cameron and the rest of the fin de civilisation western leadership will cost you your world and everything you love.
    So screw the candlelight vigil.”
Something tells me this isn’t going to end well.

  10. Don’t be silly.
They MUST keep calling us homophobic sexist racists.
Look what a winning strategy identity politics has been for them in the US.

  11. I followed Maxime Bernier on Facebook prior to his announcement as a candidate in order to get regular updates from him, and haven’t seen anything since from his posts that would dissuade me from voting for him.
I think he’ll make an excellent candidate, and leader.
    Thanks Lance for wading in.

  12. AHH!!! >
“The thought of islam becoming a cornerstone of this country makes me sick to my stomach.”
ISLAM is not founding contributor of Canadian or US society regardless of what tainted history the Liberal Progressives try to change.
The only future “cornerstone” ISLAM can create in the west is the same destructive force it’s been since the 7th century. Islam tears down cornerstones and replaces them with totalitarian cages ruled by hateful pedophilic old men with nasty beards.

  13. stop it barry, what you’re doing isn’t a mistake. Its alienating your position, though

  14. apologies all, it was an accident, my browser was indicating the comment was not being uploaded, if moderator could delete all but one would be appreciated

  15. Kellie Leitch, all the way, all day. Currently, there is no alternative in the Conservative Party.

  16. I watched the Saskatoon debate the other evening and will admit that I liked the format, pointed question and you have a very short time to indicate your position on the question. The candidates were given little time to indulge in the usual baffle gab that politicians so love to indulge in. I liked Leitch’s answers especially regarding M.E. potential immigrants having to convince a panel that they are who they claim and deserve to be here. I also think that their immigrant acceptance should be on a trial basis for a couple of years to prove that they really can fit in.
Am I a racist, anti-immigrant, no but if they really want to be a part of our Canadian culture they need to prove that they were being honest and that they can fit in. The one thing I will admit to is never being a fan of multi-culturalism.

  17. I’ll be voting for the least politically-correct, and any candidate uttering the words racist, misogynist, homophobe, islamophobe, or xenophobe, as an attack on anyone else, is out. So far, Chong is already out for his attack on Leitch.

  18. Based on Bernier’s stand on supply management and other economic policies, I was firmly in his camp UNTIL he came out against Leitch’s stand on immigration. I agree 100% with her insistence that immigrants be screened prior to entry to Canada. That consideration trump’s all others. (No pun intended). And before you call me racist, understand my wife is an immigrant within a visible minority.

  19. Kellie Leitch has potential if she has a clear vision beyond the present. You have to take a strong position if you want to lead change….
In the US the God Star father was truly on the right/correct path when he did the interview, for a magazine, suggesting that American Muslims MUST unify against radicalization… The Hillary slime turned him into an Anti-Trump bigot… I think he made a huge mistake, but I hope he reaches out to Trump… He might be surprised

  20. Great rant Lance! Wish you still came out here.
That said, Kellie Leitch is my choice at this time. No Liberal Lites for me.
Well said BigRock Bob, and well done No Guff. I already sent Michael Chong an email and told him where he could shove his Global Warming acceptance and his Whatever tax.
    Canuck66, ditto here.

  21. I’m not disagreeing with Lance, but unless I’m mistaken, Lance didn’t follow this advice during Trumps run-up to being the GOP candidate. I swear he was a never-Trumper in the early days.

  22. Well said Lance. He lost me too over that one. You spoke logic and common sense which is why your point of view would be lost on most politicians.

  23. ok, fair enuf, sorry for any other thing.
When uploading, just be confidant the comment is up, despite the browser still saying its working on it. The message quite often is uploaded right away, despite the message “waiting for sda.com”.
Just move to another tab and carry on.
And to your position, well, Michael Chong is a joke, and should not be in this race!

  24. I don’t know about the way any other western Canadians think but I don’t think Maxime Bernier is a contender. I am tired of quebec politicians screwing the rest of Canada to the benefit of quebec.

  25. I stopped voting years ago for precisely this reason; no betrayal of the base is too large, no principle will not be sacrificed, at the command of the CBC. They won’t stand up for what I want, they can go it alone. They sacrifice the principles I want put forward, they can fund themselves.

  26. Yeah. I checked the online OED to see if a new definition had been added to the definition on irony but no.

  27. Thanks Lance, I could not agree more. Actions speak louder than words and actions show that it is the right that wants to ensure those entering the country respect that, for example, women and gays have equal rights here. And it is the right who want to create opportunities for the poor so they can get of welfare. If that makes me a bigot, then call me a bigot.

  28. Replacing your native population with immigrants who hate you and want to make your country like the dump they came from is not doing something to fix you demographic problem, it is only making it worse. Immigrants cost us a ton of money. There are many Canadians who would have bigger families if they weren’t taxed into penury to pay for welfare for immigrants. There are publicly owned apartment buildings in Toronto full of immigrants on welfare, the same people we theoretically need to “help us grow our economy”.
If we have more people the economy gets bigger, but is importing illiterate goat herders increasing the GDP per capita? I doubt it, and unless it is, it is not making the economy better. There is less and less demand for labour in the economy, and there are already tons of people out of work. If employers can’t find labour it says to me that they are not offering something that the unemployed need, or the unemployed would take those jobs. Either the unemployed are working under the table, or getting so much money in benefits, they are better off not working. Some people say we need immigrants so there will be people to take care of us when we get old. If you have no one to care for you when you are old maybe you should have planned your life better. And what makes you think that the people in the influx of “refugees” from the middle east will have any interest in looking after you? They would just as soon cut your throat.
The same people who blather on about the environment want to increase the population of Canada to 100 million over the next century. That won’t be good for the environment and it won’t be good for our children and grand children. If we end up with a population of 100 million it will be about 10 percent people of European descent and 90 percent others. We will be lucky if we are as well off as Brazil.

  29. Max Bernier put out a very good statement as to why he disagrees with Kelly Leitch about her position.
    Read it here…
    http://twitter.com/maximebernier/status/772900311921025024
Michael Chong, however, criticized her using liberal language and a liberal frame. This is the wrong direction. This is the CINO, cuckservative response. Lance is right in regards to his rant, but only partially. Disagreements at this point in the game are fine, but always remember who’s listening. Cuckservatives like Chong are poison.

  30. Hey Lance,
Say it. Say Trump was the right choice the whole time. Say it.
    You know you want to.
Say “I was wrong and y’all were right.”
    Say it.
    I dare you.

  31. minuteman >
    Absolutely!
The hypocritical left talks about a “country of immigrants” as if the nations founders and subsequent builders also came to squat on welfare & handouts as incentives to create Nations.
I’ve always found the hypocrisy of “Environmentalism” along with “sustainable living” at odds with using my money to feed and turn the other 6 billion Third World earthlings into mass consumers & “eaters”.

  32. In a democracy you have the right to vote. You also have the right not to vote.
I quit voting for a number of elections. Voters used to tell me if I refused to vote I had no place criticizing government. BS – I am still a citizen and a taxpayer free to call the government to task.
I have no interest in the CPC leadership race. Nobody in that bunch inspires me. The party will chose someone from the east – an unelectable progressive for certain.

  33. Small Dead Hamster (SDH), bang on. Automation and AI will fill in were those who don’t think want these immigrants to take over. Modern societies already face a problem as to how they will keep the unemployed busy once we start seeing the full impact of AI. If one looks at a U-tube of the Tesla auto plant, you can see were there are going to be one hell of a lot of unemployed in the future. And Trump can’t do squat about it. These imbeciles who think they can govern a country are in for one h3Lell of a surprise in the future

  34. It won’t matter all that much anymore for when they bring in electoral reform, and they will, Conservatives will never ever form a government in this country ever again. It will always be a left of centre ideology that form government either by a Liberal, or an NDP or a Green (unlikely) party, and failing that singularity, by a coalition of left leaning like mindedness.

  35. Good post ,Lance.
I agree with those that say we don’t need immigrants. We do not need immigrants.
Governments are borrowing money to feed, house, and shelter immigrants while unemployment increases.
Why are governments bringing in immigrants while our economy is depressed?
Corruption, that’s why. This is blatant vote buying with our taxes!

  36. Whomever calls out AGW for the fraud that it is gets my vote. … Must be unequivocal.
EXACTLY!! The AGW scam is the ‘litmus test’ for progressives. Conservatives seem to be the only ones who see through the GlobalWarmingClimateChange fraud.
Then there are those intelligent lieberals who see that’s it’s a scam but buy into it because it furthers their agenda. They’re way worse than the stupid ones who are just easily deceived.

  37. Replacing your native population with immigrants who hate you and want to make your country like the dump they came from is not doing something to fix you demographic problem, it is only making it worse.
    YES !
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
    – Albert Einstein
We should only allow immigrants who practice our fundamental Canadian values, and from that group only the best and brightest.
We already have a home-grown population of brown-people on welfare producing nothing of value for society as-a-whole, we don’t need to import more. That’s just being foolish and self-destructive.

  38. I don’t recall Lance being a never-Trumper so much as “We’ve got this one chance, don’t blow it!” I agree with Lance that Trump made some careless mistakes. So did Hillary, so Trump was still able to win. One benefit is that Trump now knows who he can count on in the Republican Party.
Any leadership candidate that accommodates the CBC/PC crowd is out. I prefer Leitch’s approach as being more transparent than Bernier’s.

  39. “Why are governments bringing in immigrants while our economy is depressed?”
Corruption yes, globalist agenda to cripple free, armed, and capitalist society’s is the bigger answer.
It’s why every First World nation mimics the same “stupid”/ “progressive” policy’s of each other. Obviously they are designed to tear down our nations instead of benefit them, yet we continue to generally think they have our best interests at heart.

  40. Re: “globalist agenda to cripple free, armed, and capitalist society’s is the bigger answer.”
You think globalization stands in opposition to capitalism? You’re wrong — the two go hand-in-hand.

  41. Good Post Frolix…..could not agree more….
No group of people – ie: those categorized as Muslim-Islamic get a freer pass in Western Civilization. RAPE a 9yr old..?? in Daylight at a public swimming pool..?? Gets off without any sentence at all as he was “ignorant of the western norms of behaviour”. This is what passes for justice in Europe TODAY. …and is NEVER reported in our so called Media today
    Clarion Report – Gatestone Institute.
Minuteman: “…Some people say we need immigrants so there will be people to take care of us when we get old. If you have no one to care for you when you are old maybe you should have planned your life better. And what makes you think that the people in the influx of “refugees” from the middle east will have any interest in looking after you? They would just as soon cut your throat….” Agreed.
This was the whole idea of Multi-Culturism championed by the Eu/Merkel – they desperately needed an influx of people to keep the Pyramid Scheme going …retiring at 50 with a pension equal to 85% of your working wage plus on top of that – paid vacations….?? Ergo the 7-8 Million Migrants eu wide. Seems it backfired on her – not one of those Low Life SCUM works or cares about Germany…but the Progressives in the EU keep jabbgering their narrative…
I believe the EU becomes Eurabia within 15-20 yrs….not by any other means than the WOMB.
I do not want that in Canada.

  42. Good post Lance,
I too, liked Bernier but Leich will win the nomination if she continues to call out the media like she is doing now…She performed well on CTV Question Period today.
Leich will only have serious competition if O’Leary runs and if he complies to what the media wants to hear regarding Muslim immigration, she might just take it.

  43. Sorry, but I seem to have missed the part where Bernier attacked Leitch. Can anyone point me to this?
I believe all Bernier has said was that screening them for “canadian values” was impractical, and that successful immigration comes from economic integration. Seriously, you think a questionnaire is going to stop someone who comes here to do us harm, or to take advantage of our country’s generosity?
I know Chong attacked her with the “dog whistle politics” line. But Bernier?
