I had trouble switching channels last night as I watch the media implode. I don’t know which network had the best implosion, probably CNN but the BBC was almost a repeat of the Brexit outcome and for that it was worth it.
Now if Canadians hadn’t made the mistake of voting in Lil Spudhead we might have been a part of the Great Western Awakening, but I hope to be around for that come the next election.

Calling people who supported Trump “deplorables” may have had a ripple effect. In a democracy people have the right to choose without being labelled. Hillary showed supreme elitist arrogance with that one adjective.
IMHO people did not vote for Trump but voted against the Clintons/Obama and the dire financial position so many of them are in. I never found Trump’s message to be consistent or that well explained. He is a wild card.
All the above aside I have been a supporter because the Clintons are morally depraved and because Trump called out the Euros and their dependency on the USA to bail them out. North Americans have sacrificed 2 generations to that local and I would say never again.
Trump will put the USA first and he and the American people have every right to do so. It is far past due for Canada to grow up and actually start acting like a country who can take care of their business. IMHO Turdeau does not have that capacity or inclination. Canada’s per capita debt is worse than the USA and have incurred that debt in an economy that is fundamentally weaker than the USA. Canada’s economy is based on industries that are price takers not generators like the USA.
Canada has national security differences with the Americans. Specifically industry and Artic sovereignty. Harper started to address them but he was eliminated. I am not suggesting that Canada cannot have a productive relationship with the USA. As allies great things can be accomplished. Canadians have to identify necessary national objectives and approach achieving them in a more decisive way.

Yes, and The Swamp is also the only reason she won the state of Virginia. Virginia is a typical Southern state except for the couple northern counties in the DC metro. My brother, who was an auto mechanic and never went to college, is smarter than any hipster I’ve ever met. He was constantly learning about ever more complicated engines, computer control and electrical systems. He built his own amplifiers, and other electronics for FUN. He bought his first house at age 23, with -0- parental help, and remodeled it himself. 5. Some of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met never went to college. 6. I much prefer to hang out with the “simple” Red-Staters. They tend to be much more “authentic”, down to earth, and free of pretense.

I tuned in CBC coverage for amusement, and kept checking in for the astonishing lack of professional reporting; their bias was way beyond anything on CNN, yet they have no dog in the race whatsoever. They were so utterly unprepared for an alternate winner, that they were reduced to practically tears, or impotent sputtering.
It occurred to me that these people only read their own, or similar news stories, They never check in with SDA or Drudge, even to stay abreast of trends and polls. The blond panel woman stated at one point the win was due to people getting information from blogs, and not from reliable sources like CBC or CNN.
The stories she cited were science fiction type absurdities, and these uneducated fools were gullible enough to believe them and vote for D Trump.
Hillary and Bill Clinton can now retire and take care of each other, assuming they can even stand each other after all their time in the public domain. I’m a blue-collar kid as both of my parents had their journeyman’s tickets in their respective trades. On the other hand, I’m a professional engineer with two master’s degrees and a doctorate.
I’ve worked with tradesmen and I’ve taught some as well. I’ve also been around university graduates for most of my life.
I’ve known some smart people in both categories. I’ve also known some very foolish tradesmen and a number of educated idiots, many of whom were either teachers or university professors.
