  1. It looks like someone studied Steve McQueen’s driving in the movie Bullitt.

  2. Honestly, until I saw the lime-green rims I thought my wife was heading into town to buy groceries.

  3. What? Are we now celebrating the least efficient way of doing things with the maximum cost?
Give up. Governments bitch slap everyone … no one comes close.

  4. “Are we now celebrating the least efficient way of doing things with the maximum cost?”
To answer my own question – Well yes, yes we are. Think about about solar panels and windmills.

  5. A tribute and salute to western techno advancement. Try and do anything nearly as impressive with a camel!

  6. This might sound dumb, but I cringe when I see vehicles abused this way. Such a waste of rubber, metal and fuel. Not about climate change of pollution or anything like, that … just the abuse of a fabulous motor vehicle. And for what? It just seems like a really lame thing to do.

  7. Snagglepuss,
My understanding is that this sport is an Asian invention, not N American. Well, except many Canadians like me who grew up with rear-wheel drives, snow, ice, gravel and dirt. I absolutely love hanging out the rear end of a car, it is the ultimate in car control. They are scored in the sport on points for speed, angle, amount of tire smoke, clipping the apex, style, etc. There are many different forms of competition too, often with multiple cars on track at the same time.
For those getting teary-eyed over seeing a car treated this way, it is not abuse. This is at least the second in a series of PURPOSE-BUILT drift cars for Gittin Jr.. Screaming engines and howlng tires is what they are ALL about. This Mustang was designed and built from the ground up to specifically be a brute of a drift car.
I have the Need for Speed! Thanks, Kate.

Add to that Sask Partys CCS – carbon capture and sequestration.

  9. Amount of time sideways and backwards? I think I earned that record one February morning in about 1977 on the Capilano Bridge in Edmonton. It ended with a thud into the guardrail. All I could see was a scratch on the then 5 mph bumper. Today, I’m sure my car would be a near write-off.

  10. I think I did that one winter in the Squaw Valley parking lot … man, was my wife pissed. The kids loved it though !

  11. I want a Mustang. Running a tired 2010 Ford Ranger standard 4L with shifter at the moment but would gladly upgrade to a Mustang. Perhaps Kate could be commissioned to do the custom paint job 🙂 Lotto Max is going to cash in some day …. sais dreamer.
