I imagine that all those folks that couldn’t or didn’t want to go to University are impressed at what their tax dollars are paying for.
I dealt with similarly bone-headed thinking while I taught at a technical college and I quit that job nearly 15 years ago.
I remember the worst class I ever. One day, someone in that lot started mewling and puking about that sort of thing. He alleged that I was unwilling to listen to other perspectives and that I might be wrong. (Following what’s in the selected textbook is wrong?)
In response, I looked him straight in the eye and asked him, in front of his peers: “But, what if I’m right?” After a few seconds of silence, he grunted, “Oh.”
I knew what he was trying to do. He thought he was genius, probably because that’s all that he heard all throughout school plus mommy and daddy probably kept telling him he was. I, in response, was expected to bow down and worship him accordingly.
I, of course, didn’t comply. It turned out he wasn’t a genius or, if he actually was clever, he certainly didn’t show it.
Trying to teach such self-styled whiz-kids was about as pointless as trying to empty a river by bailing it out with a sieve.
We could waste even more money. I’m always cheered up a bit by reminding myself of the after=tax disposable income I didn’t throw away on tuition, etc.
What options do young people have today? In my Boomer years there were lots of unskilled jobs which allowed high school students to enter the job market and acquire skills to raise them up. That option still exists but to a much smaller scale.
Intellectually many post secondary students do not have the capacity or inclination to pursue higher education yet their opportunities elsewhere shrink daily. Many ‘hide out’ in academia for lack of other options. How they get funding to do this is a huge question yet loans are available. What was the Sanders and Clinton clarion call, ‘free postsecondary education’! To what end is an inconvenient question which is exhibited in the video.
I knew people who sat out the recession of the early 1980s by becoming grad students. A few years later, there was a glut of people who had master’s degrees or doctorates and job prospects for them was just as poor for them then compared with what the situation was like when they enrolled.
Most of them never wanted graduate degrees and, if they ever found jobs, those were usually positions for which, say, an M. Sc. was much more than what was required.
Talk about a waste of education.
It would be nice if the African lightning throwers pooled their power into a power grid so African Planned Parenthood could work longer hours and meet parts demands.
And these children demand “free” university education? Who the hell are they kidding? Wow…..by the looks of it, many universities should be shut down completely. They only produce parasites.

They don’t want to pay for their education because it won’t make them any smarter or employable.
Is that any different from what’s happening in American Education? It’s the same. The flakes don’t want to pay their tuition and they aren’t going to get anything from their education unless they are already smart and took some sort of meaningful degree such as in the sciences or medicine or engineering … the arts BA is a money extraction tool used on gullible students and their idiot parents … nothing more unless you consider that there is any value in a left wing marxist brain-washing.
If I could suggest the most obvious options for all whites in South Africa. Just get the hell out while the leaving is still good. The transition from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe is well under way.

I wasn’t. In fact, when I returned to university 25 years ago to resume grad studies, I became even more conservative.
By then, though, many people couldn’t tell the difference between a conservative and a crony capitalist. I was never the latter.

Most of my undergrad engineering classmates were more interested in being managers than engineers. One eventually became a university department head and three went on to being corporate vice-presidents. Several more were involved with major industrial projects.
Mind you, that was about 40 years ago. Political correctness, however, started creeping into the system by the time I returned in the early ’90s.
