  1. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm….
I’m becoming increasingly paranoid that the captcha complexity is inversely proportional to the value of my commentary.

  2. RE: CAPTCHA
Just to the right of the entry box there are 3 icons in a vertical row. Hit the top one and a new captcha comes up. Hit it repeatedly until it shows something reasonable to enter. It’s the only way forward……..
    (terrible system!!!!)

  3. I got fed-up with the captcha and got a yahoo ID for sign in to skip the captcha BS.
It wasn’t too bad when it was only four digit numbers, but then it got more and more complex.

  4. I’m so dissss appointendt in you.
if u don’t live in the city!
0% interest it won’t last forever

  5. I’m sure the Liberals have sorted Cabinet Minister Monsef’s citizenship thingy, no need to discuss it further.

  6. Hey, I hate captcha too. And the hanging, crappy software buggers up my posting as often as it does your comments. It is what it is — the only way I can continue to run comments open to everyone (meaning you don’t have to register to post) is to protect the site from the swarms of spammers waiting out there.

  7. Kate: I fully appreciate what you have said. However I can’t help but note how captcha has morphed from a simple test to what it is now. Have the spambots become so sophisticated that entering 4 or 5 numbers is no longer sufficient to stop them?
In truth I admit my complete ignorance of how this system works…. Lance seems to be the “computer guy”. Why not have him take a few moments and give a brief explanation to us illiterates. Perhaps it would ease the pain.

  8. A new day dawans and we await the next female to come forward who has been looked at sideways by Donald Trump. This is apparently the biggest issue affecting the United States today. It trumps corruption, security, you name it.

“NFL ratings plunge could spell doom for traditional TV”
“Football, America’s biggest prime-time powerhouse, has been thrust into a crisis this fall, with dwindling ratings sparking questions over whether it can remain a gold mine for television in an age when more Americans are abandoning traditional TV.
Network executives have long used the National Football League’s live games as a last line of defense against the rapid growth of “cord-cutting” and on-demand viewing upending the industry.
But now, the NFL is seeing its ratings tumble in the same way that the Olympics, awards shows and other live events have, falling more than 10 percent for the first five weeks of the season compared with the first five weeks of last season. A continued slide, executives say, could pose an even bigger danger: If football can’t survive the new age of TV, what can?”

“Remainers and Eurocrats will never bully the British people into giving up on Brexit”
“In truth, having an unwritten constitution is a blessing in a fast-moving world, allowing a responsiveness to changes in public feeling that can put cumbersome, inherently conservative written models to shame.
Britain, for example, was able to enact a law against sexual discrimination with alacrity when the mood of the times demanded it, while in the US – the home of modern feminism – the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution never passed into law because it failed the laborious process of ratification by the necessary number of states.
A written constitution is an instant antique, framed inevitably in the terms and the attitudes of the generation which composes it – which is why it never occurred to the drafters of the US constitution that there was anything wrong with owning slaves.”

  11. I agree that Captcha is getting weirdly difficult.
It almost makes me wonder if there’s not another leftist agenda in play to close down commentary on right leaning sites. I only say that half joking.
We have no control over what they serve up, unfortunately, but I’ll do a little digging to see how others are coping with it.

The Trenton Golden Hawks of the Ontario Junior Hockey League will celebrate “Wildlife Week” by wearing jerseys bearing the likeness of Harambe, a gorilla killed at the Cincinnati Zoo earlier this year.
The special jerseys, which feature the likeness of a gorilla instead of the team logo and “Harambe” featured prominently, will be auctioned off during the game.

  18. Naomi Klein admits global warming is not about science but destroying capitalism
I am sure Ms. Klein has no problem traveling by plane, car, or train in order to promote herself or her publications. If global warming is not about science then I guess, in Klein’s mind, her promotion without regard for her carbon footprint is justified since if people like her are successful then her emissions won’t matter. Yet she has no problem enjoying all of the benefits of capitalism while condemning it in word but not deed. However, those of us on the side of civilization and reason owe people like Klein a debt of gratitude for their honesty. Naomi Klein is open about what environmentalists deny or refuse to admit and the greens probably cringe every time she opens her pathetic mouth.

Huh. That both surprises and mollifies.
Here’s the code for my current captcha.
It shows if you click it…. But I’ll opt for audio this time.

  21. The “captcha” still works fine for me. If I don’t like one selection, I refresh to the next one. On occasion I have to repeat a few times.
So far I haven’t attempted to deviate from the display with regard to capitals or non-caps.
