Why Is There Always A Big Screen TV?

RCMP allege more than $1.2 million in public money was fraudulently obtained by a former co-manager for the Kashechewan First Nation in northwestern Ontario between 2007 and 2012.
Giuseppe (Joe) Crupi, 50, from Thunder Bay, Ont., has been charged with fraud following an investigation.
The money came from a program that was meant to provide breakfasts for about 400 elementary school children on the First Nation.
The RCMP allege Crupi took close to $700,000 of this money for his personal use.

That’s a lot of fish soup. (h/t Raymond)

  1. off topic….. has anyone seen a news item about PEI schools being closed because of a bomb scare? saw an item at Breitbart and would like confirmation.

  2. The Oakland Unified School district (yes, that Oakland) spent its way to $ 150 million in debt, under the corrupt leadership of local control. The State government (read: taxpayers) had to take-over the complete administration of the School District. What the State Controllers found: hundreds of pay checks being issued fraudulently to imaginary employees, and multiple million dollar contracts to “study” school lunch programs … which produced -0- work product. Seems REALLY EASY to STEAL taxpayer dollars … if you say it is for “the children’s” … “food”. And it’s even EASIER to STEAL if you say it is for “urban youth” … or say … “first peoples” … smh

  3. sorry…All CBC is saying pick your kids up. ALL schools closed. No reason or anything else known at this time,0930 MST. Must be a lone wolf again.

  4. That’s an awful lot of money missing from a breakfast program on a small reserve, isn’t it? How much money was there in total? Are they flying these kids to The Hoito in Thunder Bay every morning?

  5. Because f— the kids, that’s why he took the cash.
Trudeau removed the ability of aboriginals on reservations to hold their chiefs accountable.
White Liberal voters voted for that.

  6. Stealing food out of the mouths of kids.
I don’t know about you, but that’s right up there with swindling widows.
There’s a special place in Hell for that sort of behaviour.

  8. $700,000?, that’s a lot of time in the old sweat lodge. This chief might have a future in Lieberal politics.

  9. Joe Crupi is NOT A CHIEF and is not likely Aboriginal (Guiseppe not one of those typical Cree names) – he’s a FINANCIAL CONSULTANT with a business/employees in Thunder Bay (Crupi Consulting) whose website is suddenly off line. These consultants are retained as ‘co-managers’, with the blessing of our Federal Government, to FIX FINANCIAL PROBLEMS IN FIRST NATIONS! So…the fraud probably took place in his offices in Thunder Bay and the money never even got to Kashechewan but perhaps made its way to others closer to home. Google him and you’ll find a picture of he and Franco Crupi holding a big cheque from Crupi consulting donating $25000 back to Thunder Bay hospital.

  10. “(Guiseppe not one of those typical Cree names)”
In Cree, Guiseppe means, “I purloin the polenta from your bambino.”

  11. five years (“between 2007 and 2012) x 365 days = 1825 (1826 with a leap year in there)
So possibly as many as 1826 mornings x 400 kids = 730400 breakfasts.
When you consider how efficient governments are at spending the $1.2million missing must be only a small fraction of how much the feds were trying to spend on feeding those kids.
