After reading reports of Clinton’s bleary eyed reaction to multiple attacks on US soil, something became crystal clear to me…
The Dems and their globalist backers have based their entire election campaign on only two “policies”. Hillary has a vagina and Trump is a racist. It is becoming increasingly clear to everyone that a vagina is ALL she has to offer.
We increasingly see leftists around the globe straying from their masters’ orders and seriously challenging the wisdom of mass immigration from the Middle East. If you have had little luck in the past opening the eyes of neighbors and friends, try broaching the topic now. It is an excellent segue into the topics of globalization, Sharia Law, media bias or even the fact they now agree in spirit with Trump and Harper. People are slowly figuring out that they are being repeatedly lied to by the media, at least many I’ve met are.
The icing on the cake for me is when I get to point out to these “converts” that they are now, at least in the eyes of the CBC, CNN, etc, officially Islamophobes and racists. You can almost smell their circuits overheating as they digest that one.
Now, get out there and sell some conservatism!

I recall the Front de Libération du Quebec (FLQ) era, prior to the October crisis of 1970. As long as the perpetrators were part of a political group, the media (Radio Canada, CBC, La Presse) gave them carte blanche for their actions. After all, they were ”making a statement.” Poor oppressed Quebecois!! Until they became responsible for the death of Pierre Laporte and kidnapped James Cross.
I believe that Pierre Elliot Trudeau made an honest effort to round the terrorists up. Sadly, the era of the courts overpowering the government had just begun. Those responsible were given immunity from prosecution and flown to Cuba. That was when Trudeau turned on us and became closer to ”one of them” than ”one of us.”
The same is happening in North America today. The media is protecting ”them’, instead of ”us.” I don’t know what type of bomb goes off in a public area accidentally, however the only ones I’m aware of are those that were built to maim, and to kill. If that’s not an act of terrorsim, what is?

I remember when those FLQ members got their free ride to Cuba. We were led to believe that they would be gone from Canada for good as Castro let in all sorts of political flotsam and jetsam in those days.

The local group I have had luck with I have been working on a long time and were mostly media victims with no hard partisan loyalties. I am still pretty much where you are with my close-minded in-laws.
Good luck with anyone set in partisan cement. I find you have to try creative methods to break through to these people, but it can also be fun. Try getting them to argue among themselves by asking leading questions, not lecturing. Asking how we defend the rights of women(point out some family examples to bring it home) or gays(same, if applicable) while welcoming a still medieval culture/religion that OPENLY believes it has the moral right to victimize these people. Who’s rights win? Hmmmm? Don’t let them skate around these issues, make them face the ugliness of it.
On a similar topic, I have also learned an effective way of introducing my climate denial speech. I start with a short preamble on how I don’t believe conspiracy theories, laughing at the 9/11, moon landing, etc people. When I finally claim it is a fraud aimed at the western world, I try to stick to the bad science and laughable computer models as my reasoning. This approach seems to engage people as opposed to making them roll their eyes.
Keep fighting the good fight, Margaret, we certainly cannot rely on any Conservative politicians in this country to stand up against these leftist threats. Brad Wall would be the single exception that comes to my mind.
Terrorism is not the threat. Sunni and Shia will make war. We can step aside. However..
We may be doomed…. We have 60,000 ships on the oceans burning the worst bunker fuels spewing poisons into the air every minute.
