  2. Wondering how long before the RCMP looks more like a United Nations force? Apparently now Muslim women in the force can wear hijabs to work. Goodale says the force respects people of all religions and cultures…it reflects the country’s diversity, they want to encourage more Muslim women to consider a career in the Mounties. So when is a uniform not a uniform?
Why not call it the Royal Canadian Multicultural Force?

  3. Sorry bout that comment it is over a year old- Misread.

A veteran and friend of mine killed himself last week,
‘Don’t ever take a permanent solution for a temporary problem.’

“Fearing he will soon die without pancreatic cancer surgery, the long-time mayor of Trent Hills says he has been “essentially murdered by a corrupt, rigged political system” and wants the OPP “to investigate the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.”
    Pow!
That is really what Mayor Hector Macmillan said on Twitter Wednesday. It not only got the public’s attention, but it also shook up the minister of health’s office, too.”

  6. Driverless vehicles, a taxi (naturally):
“The first driverless taxi began work on Thursday in a limited public trial on the streets of Singapore.”
    Not quite there yet however:
“The trial rides took place in a Mitsubishi i-MiEv electric vehicle, with an engineer sitting behind the steering wheel to monitor the system and take control if necessary.”
Taxi and city, the initial goals for self driving vehicles. Self driving vehicles are the inevitable future.
The artificial intelligence (AI) needed to make it a complete success is still a work in progress however.
“Israeli driving assistant software maker Mobileye NV said its vehicle, developed with Delphi Automotive Plc, would be ready for production by 2019, while Ford Motor Co said its self-driving car was slated for 2021.”

  7. Major props to Kate’s diversity in musical offerings … however … I think the ONLY marching band tune I have ever enjoyed is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn7gO5D2nxo
BTW … an entirely overlooked lp which I believe is a masterpiece … just not as “accessible” as the two prior quadruple-platinum albums

  8. The California version of Fleetwood Mac was one of my favourite groups for many years. I finished my B. Sc. with selections from “Rumours” (released 40 years ago) being played on the radio. I began grad studies a few days before “Tusk” came out.
Unfortunately, they destroyed their credibility with me with their album “Tango In The Night”. I thought that it was rubbish.

  9. So, lets have a few more of these monstrosities called wind turbines collapse like the one in Cape Breton NS….if one can go down what’s to stop more from doing the same?

  10. This video explains why we have ended up with the current corrupt CAGW alarmist “science”, international bureaucracies politicians and green rentseekers.

“Voters have less incentive to engage in the voting process when the benefits of getting their way in the voting booth are small, but the cost of casting a vote is large. This can lead to people voting for policies that are bad for society.”
It is a good explanation of public choice theory and the principle of distributed costs and concentrated benefits.

  11. Oh GAWWD ! Tango in the Night is such rubbish. It sounds like what some amateurish Record Co. Producer put together as an “antidote” to Tusk. Tusk didn’t sell well at all (not poppy-enough for the masses), so I am sure the record exec’s all panicked and tried to come-up with some non-offensive pabulum for the masses. And they ended up with bad 45yo-lonely-woman ballads.
And don’t get me wrong ! I was absolutely amazed at the alchemy between Buckingham/Nicks and the Fleetwood/Mac’s when the “Fleetwood Mac” lp dropped. Pop tunes never sounded so well constructed. That lp got me through UC Berkeley … and laid a few times.

  12. I first became familiar with Fleetwood Mac during the summer of 1976. During my annual breaks in my undergrad studies, I worked in an oil refinery in northern B. C. not far from where my parents lived. During the evenings, I liked listening to some AM rock stations out of Seattle and one out of Vancouver that put out some strong clear signals into that part of the province. Fleetwood Mac was one of the groups whose songs were played.
And then came “Rumours” and I thought “Wow!” I began working at my first job after my B. Sc. listening to that.
“Tusk” wasn’t all that bad, though, perhaps, a bit too adventurous after “Rumours”. While I was a grad student in Vancouver, I used to listen to an FM station out of Bellingham and there were a few tracks from that album on its playlist.
“Mirage” was released in ’82 and some of the songs on it were given airplay. And then came “Tango” a few years later–that was it for me. The only song of theirs I liked after that bomb was one that was included as a bonus piece on their “Greatest Hits” recording from ’88. I haven’t listened to anything the group produced after that.

  13. Hey, Sheila is wearing my T-Shirt!
Actually I just joined the Rebel, and also sent them an email asking where I could get a T-Shirt like that as I am the grandson of a real live Kulak.
