  1. What are the odds of two of them lighting up at the same time, 300 yards apart? Too bad this doesn’t happen more often.

  2. Despite the hype, all this tinkering produced no special environmental benefits. The province said it needed to close its coal-fired power plants to reduce air pollution. But prior to 2005, these plants were responsible for less than two per cent of annual fine particulate emissions in Ontario, about the same as meat packing plants, and far less than construction or agriculture. Moreover, engineering studies showed that improvements in air quality equivalent to shutting the plants down could be obtained by simply completing the pollution control retrofit then underway, and at a fraction of the cost. Greenhouse gas emissions could have been netted to zero by purchasing carbon credits on the open market, again at a fraction of the cost. The environmental benefits exist only in provincial propaganda.

  3. The environmental benefits exist only in provincial propaganda.

And expand their minds and wallets.
Billions of extra dollars to be spent on other Ponzi schemes, their family and friends.
In America I never forget what present obama said about quadrupling our electric bills so that ‘Presto’ we could have green energy.
Sometimes we think these idiots are joking then they start sucking on our checking accounts.

  4. Ontario is well on it’s way to becoming a wasteland in every sense of the word “waste”. Wynne is operating the wrecking ball full speed and the opposition are sitting there watching the destruction, no power to stop her beyond criticizing, which falls on deaf ears. The idiots who voted for the McGuinty cum Wynne Liberals are speechless.

  5. yes Liz, wynne is stupid, and the cons are even stupider. I’v said before, but I’ll repeat myself, once the cons quit putting religious idiots up as leaders they will stand an much better chance at regaining the “government”. Case in point, Manning, Tommy Douglas, and Stockwell Day. I know many cons who laffed like hell over the liberal joke of Day thinking flinstones was a documentary, myself included. There are many cons who are NOT religious, and these biblebangers want our vote but insult our intelligence with their religious stupidity?

  6. Denmark, Spain, Germany, the UK, many countries went down the path of failure before Ontario. Many Canadian provinces will follow Ontario. The colossal gas bag nme votes for these Emviromemtologists, but idiotically casts aspersions at sane religions? Can you please just shit can that guy? Any comment he makes has already been made by about a billion other people.

  7. That black smoke ain’t just C60 bucky-balls like in diesel smoke, you’re looking at some heavy metals contamination there. Is anyone checking the air quality downwind to make sure those rare earth’s aren’t poisoning anyone?

  8. “About the only upside is that nine other provinces now have a handbook on what not to do with their electricity sector. ”
YUP.Nutley here in AB,glanced at it,and said”so what. We will do it differently and better”. And so Alberta can contimue down the rabbit hole. I honestly think Nutley and Wingnut have a side bet on which province can reach bottom the fastest.

  9. Nutley and Wingnut will spend whatever they have to satisfy there base the public unions.Deficits be damned and screw the private sector.Scary part is it works.Arivederci(captcha).

  10. A major hunters’ group has its back up after Engie, a wind energy company big in Southwestern Ontario, asked landowners with its turbines to ban hunting on their turf.

  11. I guess you could call that a “thermal runaway”… Gotta love Google – when I started the video, it popped up an ad for “turbine parts” LOL!

  12. Undoubtedly, the left is culpable to a lot of damage and hardship caused by implementing their utopian agendas.
But, after reading the accompanying story, what I am left thinking is…”Where are our f*cking Conservative leaders in this country?!?!
Brad Wall is a good man, but he can’t fight this ideological insanity solo. For chrissakes, my entire adult lifetime I have yet to see a single real conservative federal government. And now, when a pitbull is desperately needed, the so-called Conservatives just putt-putt along with an interim pussycat. They look pretty content to me to just roll with the punches and enjoy their privileges.
Maybe, if social media can defeat old media this US election, we can start exposing the Canadian Liberal and media lies without the useless CPC. We can’t ever expect Canadian youth to “see the light” if they are never exposed to it.

  13. Metaphor? Dante’s 9 circles of hell:
“The Eighth Circle of Hell is resided by the fraudulent. Dante and Virgil reach it on the back of Geryon, a flying monster with different natures, just like the fraudulent. This circle of Hell is divided into 10 Bolgias or stony ditches….In Bolgia 5 are housed corrupt politicians….”

  14. Pretty, eh?
I hope the same faulty bearings are in every turbine in Ontario. And I hope that every property owner who profits from screwing the public by having these things on his land is held responsible for a full environmental cleanup.

  15. The wind is howling in this video. There’s not a single turbine moving. What the heck?
Is there an ability to shut down ALL the turbines in an area at the same time? Or are all those in this video an accident waiting to happen….

  16. When the wind blows too hard they have to shut the turbines down, which is what seems to have happened in this video. I’m guessing the two that burned failed to shut down for some reason and that’s why they ignited.

  17. The wind turbine in the video is moving at about 120 rpm a bit before catastrophic failure inevitably occurred. The tip speed of the turbine blades was incredible. To put things in perspective – a wind turbine with a 100m blade diameter moving at 15rpm has a calculated tip speed of about 175mph. Debris flying off could literally be launched a great distance away. Given how Energy Regulators write up oil companies when something akin to a 5 gallon pail of crude oil is spilled on a producing lease or levy fines over using tiny amounts of gas to economically operate remote equipment what exactly are the regulatory consequences for life threatening wind turbine failure? My guess it’s just to supply your own broom but be sure to add its’ cost to the government subsidy bill.

  18. Green theology plus inappropriate technology plus innumerate and or dishonest professional politicians plus rent-seeking corporate whores have all combined to yield the above. To be replicated in your province just like the hubris of socialists who believe that we can do the wrong thing the right way.

  19. EXACTLY ! That is the FIRST THING I noticed in the video … that the ONLY windmill turning … is the one on FIRE ! What’s the matter ? Are they waiting for their next taxpayer subsidy ?

  20. yes blowhard, and maybe you can explain why wynne is in power if not for cons stupidity. I’v talked to too damn many people who are turned off by the very things that identify the bible bangers as such. Tory was a prime example, he should have won that election. Even a liberal lamented that he would have/ should have, but didn’t because of Tories “fund religious schools” bullsh*t. Time to learn that the comic book (bible) is not a political tome.
BTW; I went to a religious school, and it was the lies and bullsh*t spewed there that turned to atheism.

  21. When I enquired with my insurance provider about gas and oil storage on our property I was told that absolute liability rests with the property owner. In other words, when the company walks away from the turbine, it’s the property owner’s baby. I can already see the headlines of how all society benefited from the green energy so all of society should pay for the clean up costs

  22. Notice that guy casually walking by at 1:21?
I would be hauling ass out of there. That turbine was a serious safety threat.

  23. The smoking propeller tips remind me of those artistic gymnasts with their streamers and ribbons. A silver medal performance at least.

  24. According to the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association “windmills” may close airports if necessary. An owner of an Ontario airport said he was told by transport Canada that it will act to ensure public safety after the fact by restricting or even stopping operations at an affected airport where they have a “windmill project”. Minister Mark Garneau has so far been silent on the issue. We have to wonder how many more airports will be affected by these monstrosities.
