Since then, my days in public have often involved cameramen walking backward and videotaping my every move. It’s mostly when I travel (I’ve encountered them in at least five states so far, as well as in Australia), and generally when I’m in a public or semipublic space. They aren’t interested in my arguments; instead, these videos, usually wordless, are simply posted on Twitter, almost always with music…

I read some of the Times op-ed comments, and they’re overwhelmingly supportive of McKibben. Not surprising, I know, but it is funny. The more I watch the binary nature of today’s society, the less hopeful I am. The Left continues it’s disingenuous (to my eyes) attack on all opposition while ignoring simple facts. The party of science and tolerance, lol!
CAGW alarmists are control freaks. They advise politicians to enact laws that “nudge” (shove, bully, sucker punch) citizens into behaviour they deem moral – energy sin taxes, vegan diets, teaching kids climate catastrophism in school. They lecture, they scold, they censor critics (aka.heretics),they abuse the legal system. If alarmists are going to act like fire and brimstone priests then they should live what they preach. People who support individual rights should go after climate alarmists with the same vigour as exposing drunken prohibitionists, tax cheating big government socialists or adulterous televangelists. Leapers are interfering in people’s choices, lowering our standard of living by making essential products more expensive and destroying blue collar jobs. In reality, this changes nothing. It’s all pain, no gain (except for them and crony capitalists). I feel no sympathy for the environmental control freaks.

If you so lament our increasingly “binary” society, why focus only on “the Left”? Why not distribute the blame equally with, say, conservative entities like SDA, which is at least as complicit in pushing a partisan, us-vs-them, never compromise, “pleasing your enemies does not turn them into friends” approach to today’s political “discourse”? Are you not just as guilty then?
I’ve said this numerous times: Hypocrisy is the progressives’ modus operandi.
