A lorry ran down a large group of people in the southern French city of Nice during a suspected terrorist attack. At least 50 people are feared dead with more than 100 injured during the Bastille Day attack.
Gunshots rang out in the streets, with gunmen targeting hotels and cafes in the port city as residents were warned to lock themselves in doors for their safety. Hostages have been taken in a hotel in the city. The RAID anti-terror squad has been deployed to the city.
It is believed the gunmen are holding hostages in the Meridien Hotel and the Buffalo Grill restaurant.
A lorry rammed into a large group of people who were celebrating Bastille Day before gunmen started firing.
A spokesman for the Alpes Maritime prefecture advised locals to ‘stay indoors’ as gunfire was heard, and a lorry was driven into a crowd on the Promenade des Anglais.
Probably no motivation whatsoever.

Japan wasn’t sitting on vast oil reserves.
This has nothing to do with Islam!!
There are a few journalists left at CBC. Arsenault is objectively calling it like it is instead of fawning and pandering like Barton and the others.
We ARE sitting on vast oil reserves and Saudi Arabia STILL isn’t glass.
Pourquoi?
What? The accelerator was stuck?
Can’t wait to see my Facebook feed fill up with cutesy “je suis Nice” cartoons and hashtags. A few days of the virtual weeping and we can all get back to normal.
The body count threshold is apparently quite high for western liberals. Except when it’s a black gangster shot. Then there is t-shirt printing and parade swoop-ins.
Coming soon to a street near you.Justine and his Syrian suicide driving team.
So will world leaders travel to Nice for another solidarity march? The frequent flyer points must be getting up there. Maybe it’s time for the average Frenchman to pick up one of those dropped rifles and do what needs to be done, and I don’t necessarily mean to muslims. It is , after all, Bastille Day.
I know I am never again going to a Canada Day gathering. Actually, Halloween would be a more target rich environment for the religion of peace.
Re: CBC not using the words ”terrorist attack.”
I notice also that CBC was not reporting this as terrorist attack, and for quite a while after the news broke.
Conclusion: Don’t believe a word you hear on CBC or Radio Canada.
Register trucks!!! …and require licenses and background checks for all truck drivers!!! That will stop it.
Oh wait… they do that already don’t they?
Another example of the leftards foolish fascination with trying to control ‘things’ instead of bad people.
Just wait until the Mohammadans start filling self-driving Mercedes trucks with remote detonating ANFO bombs.
They can drive them through crowds and then ‘splode then when the first responders arrive. Cheaper than cruise missiles.
The CBC web page story has sneer quotes around the word “terrorist”, as if the war atrocity had nothing to do with terrorism. This is the CBC sticking its thumb in the eye of its readers.
This is war but the Western world refuses to take the action needed, to stop the flow of people from the parts of the world they come from, do massive profiling, call it what it is by name. Home grown should be narrowed down to the home environment they grew/grow up in. We are enabling them with our freedoms most of us would gladly give up some of them to clear our world of these terrorists in the name of Islam. Drastic measures need to be put in place to stop it. Call it what it is, Donald Trump has and has stated what needs to be done. We need to hear more of that followed with action.
“””””””most of us would gladly give up some of them to clear our world of these terrorists in the name of Islam.””””””
speak for yourself only idiot
Liz you may be happy to give up the last of your freedoms to make everybody safe. I for one am not. Freedom is not free.It is precious and to be held onto as long as possible. Your fears have no power over me. Nor should they. If you are really concerned do something, but don’t let that something impact me, my children and their children immemorial.
What is the answer then? Do we simply sit and wait for the next attack then mourn the victims while they plan their next one?
The answer my dear Liz is to stop living in this so-called Utopia that the Liberals/Democrats are espousing. It doesn’t exist. The next step is to realize that all cultures and by definition all people are not equal. Beliefs that are diametrically opposed to my beliefs should be fought tooth and nail, not to be tolerated and accepted mindlessly because some “intelligentsia groupy” tells us it’s the right thing to do. And lastly we as a people that have a common ideology must explain in no uncertain terms that when we accept you into our country you must accept our way of life and customs and leave your problems behind you, not import them with you under the guise that it is part of your freedoms. Now the problem of solving the mess we now find ourselves in and must correct will require a much firmer resolve than the Western leaders possess, namely expulsion from our society of those that would attempt to subjugate us through acts of terrorism. If that means deportation then we start telling them that any acts of terrorism will be met with deportation of all relatives, friends, adherents of mosques where a terrorist has developed from. Sounds harsh but tell me what you tell the survivors of the latest attack, that “We grow stronger through our trials and tribulations.”, or how about “Our strength in in our diversity” or “We strongly condemn these mindless acts.”, words of solace cannot erase or heal the heartache, anguish, and fear that the survivors must live through. The amount of survivors grows after every attack and if we do nothing but collectively wring our hands and shake our heads we may as well succumb now and line up for the government issued prayer rugs, because the Muslims believe that is the only future.
I may not have all the answers but really can tell you that quivering in fear in your armchair and throwing up your hands saying take all our freedoms to keep us safe should never be the answer. you want to be safe? fine but do not offer up me and my children as a sacrifice to your fear.

because there is nothing that a society can do except those two extremes ? Do nothing or give up all your freedom to be safe? Its not an all or nothing world, that’s the attitude of the extremists. Somehow I think we can do just a wee bit better than those murderous thugs.
What a coincidence that an Amish terrorist would have the name Mohamed.
With the Trudeau Charter guiding our Supreme Court decisions and HRC’s we may as well wave the white flags in this country. The Charter stipulates all the “rights and freedoms” those who come here and settle in with bad intent need to prepare for, get brainwashed/trained, whatever, right under our noses while living among us. What can we do? Sit and wait for the next evil bastard to blow.
I know of a German family during the 2nd World War who were visited by the RCMP to be questioned just because they were German….they didn’t mind they had four sons already enlisted and overseas fighting for this country. We can’t do that now without the war measures act, it infringes on our freedoms. Those who come to our Western democracies know they can prepare and do evil relatively easily, we are not able to interfere with their privacy/freedoms as guaranteed by our Charter.
Will our Charter and multicultural policies take us down of render us a country of ghettos and stand for nothing? Shall we settle for sitting back and waiting for the next terror attack and prepare to mourn those murdered.
The human rights commissions already infringe on our freedoms.
Giving the government more power, especially the Trudeau Liberal regime which is fast tracking thousands of unvetted Mohammadans into Canada, is not a good idea.
“The human rights commissions already infringe on our freedoms.”
True.
“Giving the government more power, especially the Trudeau Liberal regime which is fast tracking thousands of unvetted Mohammadans into Canada, is not a good idea.”
True.
