I like this guy – he’s bombastic, deliberately provocative, rude even … and he must drive progressives absolutely crazy. That said, despite the aggressive tone of his diatribes, it seems to me that he usually relies on logic and supports his claims with factual evidence (something his opponents tend not to do – anyone who disagrees with them is Hitler, as he notes.)
Anyway, one or more of the progressives’ tweets that he showed raised interesting points. I would personally be curious to see whether there was a in fact a significant difference in voting patterns between age groups: specifically, did a much larger percentage of millenials support “remain” in comparison to older generations?
If I was to guess, I suspect that the group – Unemployed/receiving benefits/on 10+ year “degree” program/working for government – would have voted overwhelmingly for “remain”: it would have been in their self-interest to do so. But the people actually doing the work to power the economy and pay the nation’s bills (you know, those who would have been known as “average” folk 20 years ago) would have voted to leave. It would be a situation similar to what one finds in Ontario, really. (Though in Ontario, the percentage of people on the government payroll, in one way or another, essentially dependent on the government for their supper, is so great that it seems highly unlikely that any party opposed to Big Government will ever be elected – and I’m not talking about the “Progressive” conservatives here either, since they’re no longer conservative in any meaningful sense).
Yes, the elites and media are not done. According to them disaster has began and well, you know the pluartude of names and labels, leave voters have created a divide. The divide was always there , but average hardworking people will no longer be silent.
I think back to what happened in Rotherham UK where muslim men for at least a decade sex slaved young girls. The authorities, even the Chief Constable, did nothing except persecute those like fathers of the girls who dared to complain. The same thing happened in Halifax and Twin Falls US. This is the political class, as in Ontario with Wynne, that has destroyed our province in every facet where 1 in 9 public employees make over $100k while 90% of private employees do not.
Compare the UK to Ontario. 78% of all economic activity in Northern Ireland and Scotland is done with government money. London among other large cities is filled with public employees, government contractors and those on welfare or living off taxpayer funds. The rural areas voted to leave as they are the farmers and workers. They see their towns overrun with migrants as they are pushed out. Guess which group supported the “Leave” side. Ontario’s big cities also put the Liberal/progressives into power and will keep them there.
I think that the power struggle going on between the globalists and those who value nation-states is the defining political struggle of our times. The globalists (EU, UN and big corporate interests) are bent on creating a world where we are all controlled by some central entity. To this end, they are busy fostering uncontrolled immigration, undermining national cultural values (especially those reflecting Judeo-Christian values) and pushing the envelope on traditional identity issues (how many genders do we now have, is it 31 or was it 60 something?).
I think this actually goes beyond politics, to something very sinister (a la 1984). We are routinely lied to, and the MSM is complicit in creating the false narrative that is intended to lull everyone into mindless compliance. Nationalism has been an important part of people’s sense of personal identity — also family, in some cases religion, gender, race. All of these things are being deliberately erased as sources of identity. The goal, I believe, is to control the masses via a technocracy run by bureaucrats. This is a dystopian nightmare. It is good to see people rebelling against this control as with Brexit, support for Trump, Bernie, and the anti-EU sentiment emerging in many European countries. Canada will have to hope that a Trump upsets that globalist apple-cart as we have already relinquished our independence and are being steered by the UN’s Agenda 2030 (not just Trudeau and federal Liberals, but via Notley, Wynne, Gregor, Nenshi and many bureaucrats and quasi-environmental and “social justice” groups). Once you recognize the pervasiveness of the globalist agenda, evidence that this is happening is everywhere. That is why, for example, the global warming issue never goes away despite factual evidence that it is not happening. Along with promotion of an unbalanced feminist agenda, massive immigration, etc., the globalists have been controlling the narrative. Let us hope Brexit marks a change in direction.
Last night I had a conversation with an American about Brexit. He seemed surprised that I was supportive of the decision to leave. I pointed out that last year 60% of all laws passed in the UK were done by the EU, a political body that is not directly accountable to the British citizens. This fact seemed to have no impact on him whereas to me it means everything!
According to them disaster has began..

Are they talking about economic disaster, or Catastrophic Climate Change ??

Is there not a single respected man or woman in this country with the moral fortitude to challenge the lies of the socialist-bent MSM? The CPC sure as hell contains NOT A SINGLE ONE.
The CBC, OF COURSE, is completely ignoring their responsibility to explore and inform on the motives of the winning Leave side(beyond bigotry)and discovering the valid reasons why so many chose to exit the EU. Instead, they are marketing this as yet another horrible act by hateful right-wingers. As is usual with today’s media, they are blind to the fact that they themselves are the true purveyors of intolerance and hatred.
NOT A WORD from any MSM outlet about the importance of Democracy. NOT A WORD about supporting Remain = supporting the 1%. NOT A WORD about freedom, independence or rights for the individual Brit. I have yet to see a single interview with ANYONE who supported Brexit, but there is no shortage of doom and gloom stories cycling to try to scare the sh*t out of their flock.
The CBC, 100% anti-conservative, 100% of the time.
One direct result is that any plans for a Canadian referendum on voting systems is quashed, not that Liberals ever planned one anyway.Allowing citizens to voice an opinion? Horrifying, they are just as apt to vote contrary to what their bettors know is best. A PM resigning on a matter of principle? A system like that has no place in Canada, in 2016.
We need more push, more drive to get the message across tothe the LIBERAL ELITE which includes the poseur we call Prime Minister. A referendum for such a drastic move is a must in a true democracy. If we don’t get it then we need to do whatever it takes to stop them. Referendum or revolt.
I’m also sick of Conservatives and possibly other parties sending out messages about demanding a referendum then asking foe donations to do so. Well, HELLO fellas and gals you are being paid to do just that, get on with it!
The reaction by Hillary to Trumps statement that a lower UK Pound would be beneficial for his Golf Course…She is economically illiterate. When currency goes down the Tourism & UK manufacturing gain an advantage over competition…Yes Hillary you are wrong! Trump & his UK property will gain Tourism & UK Currency, but of course he must keep that money invested in the UK…Good for the UK fool
Hillary’s UK bank holdings took a hit because she converts the bribes into US Funds..Poor George Soros lost millions…cry baby.. cry
There actually were some major London dailies that supported Brexit so there is some free media still left in Great Britain.
Throwing out the EU to me will resonate in British history with all the other great “leavings” they have achieved over the last 2000 years.
They repelled the nazis in the Battle of Britain.
They repelled the Spanish Armada during Elizabeth’s reign (with some help from Mother Nature)
They fought the Vikings to a standstill and eventually absorbed them a thousand years prior.
They made life so difficult for the Romans that they forced them to abandon the island 700 years before that.
That being said, they were pretty much overrun by Saxons after the Romans left and again by Normans shortly after kicking out the Vikings but the spirit of Island independence is still there. You cannot kill it. Ever.
Trudeau said about a referendum in April, “Many of the people who propose we need a referendum, well they know that the fact is that referendums are a pretty good way of not getting any electoral reform.”
The UK did the exact opposite of what he claimed.
following are the definitions of fascism and fascist from the dictionary.com website. I have always found it interesting how fascism is labeled as being right wing or conservative, when in fact it is a about as far left-wing an idea as you can get. the communists are way left and the Nazis were just a little to the right of the communists. I guess that’s how they spin it as being rignt wing.
what was that line about repeating a lie often enough…..
we get the government we deserve, not saying much about us, is it?
fas-cism
noun
1. (sometimes initial capital letter) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
fas-cist
noun
1. a person who believes in or sympathizes with fascism.
2. (often initial capital letter) a member of a fascist movement or party.
3. a person who is dictatorial or has extreme right-wing views
“I have always found it interesting how fascism is labeled as being right wing or conservative, when in fact it is a about as far left-wing an idea as you can get.”
Unfortunately, the people who write dictionaries and history books are people with Humanities degrees, an often derided realm of studies on right-wing forums such as this.
Given that fact, I don’t expect things will change much in the near future.
I find it very interesting that many Canadians and Americans are so critical of Brexit and cannot fathom why the British taxpayers want to control their own country. Suppose for a moment that the American Union came to fruition, how many Canadians and Americans would be okay with the fact that decisions about their country came from oh say….an unelected body in Mexico City.
If that is okay with you then you may be able to suggest Britain was foolish to leave the EU.
Just a thought on the video and what is happening in the world. I believe that what has occurred in Britain this past week is the British equivalent of the ‘hated’ TEA (Taxed Enough Already)party beginning to blossom. The presstitutes in America demonized the TEA demonstrations in America, while at the same time falling all over themselves covering the Black Lives Matter, and the Occupy parties, and the other social justice warriors sit-ins. The average tax-paying citizen has started to wake up and realize that the politicians that promise you everything are in effect leading you down the garden path of submission with the assistance of the main stream media. I have some small hope that the Brexit vote in Britain, the cradle of Western democracy, will spread and engulf Western society in exposing the lies and deceit that we have been inundated with by the Lib/Dem/Lab politicians for the last seventy years. Hopefully the Brits will recognize that Nigel Farage has been as instrumental in this quest as Winston Churchill was almost a century ago.
Right, Canadians just don’t express outrage very well. I mean on the street protests that would make a cabal like the Liberals take notice. Sustained protests, civil disobedience outright anger; these would force Jr to reassess his warped plan to redo 150 yr old voting rules. Some of the fundamental changes to Canadian society and symbols perpetrated by Trudeau Sr could have been averted with more disciplined opposition. Canadians have seen this movie before and Jr is absolutely determined to change our country, if for nothing else just to measure up to his old man.
Latest changes to the committee looking a rules change does not auger well, the fix between Libs and NDP appears to be in.
Watching the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union is like looking at humanity going backwards in evolution. Why? Because the European Union was made to prevent extreme nationalism in the western word and prevent big catastrophes like world war 2. Everybody knows that the WW2 was the result of extreme nationalism. People that started this referendum were people who know that everything that’s happening in the middle-east will one day become a problem for other people, which is why countries keep closing their borders to people that are coming form war-torn countries.
However, in world War 2, USA, Canada and the USSR didn’t close their doors to the European that fled their countries to find a better world. Now, in the USA and Canada, we have Irish neighborhoods, Italian neighborhoods, Scottish neighborhoods and such. This didn’t prevent the USA or Canada from evolving. Some would argue that it even helped them progress.
Why does a referendum even exist for Brexit?
The World War2 was preceded by an economic crisis, a vote to a nationalist party and a conflict between European countries. Does Europe are really want to return to this period in time? Didn’t the after-war generation read enough history books to know what happened? What is wrong with people?
What the UK people does not know is that this kind of referendum is not a democratic expression. The people that initiated this referendum are from the parties that are the most racist and the most closed to the rest of the world. They have the same kind of discourse as Hitler. The issue is that, more and more, technology, life and money keep people occupied and prevent them from being better informed. This is understandable that a person working 40 hours/week who arrives home with two children and begins his evening at 8:00 pm would probably not want to read about WW2 and inform themselves about Brexit. They probably would choose to take the remote put a film on Netflix and watch it. This is why I saw that it’s not a democratic expression. When you are not aware of what are you choosing, it’s kind of the same as letting luck choose for you. The result is near to 50%, just like when you flip a coin 65 million times. The result will be near 50%. That would be a theory behind why the most difficult elections are near to 50%.
I’m not a negative person, but if France, Spain, Germany and other European countries begin to exit the European Union, that will break the union that western world had, which could result in a wold war three by 2050 or 2060.
I forgot my link http://thecaptainwiseblog.com/referendum-even-exist-brexit/
That’s a tough decision point. Leftists favour excessive government control and want to force people of into compliance invalid whole range of issues. Mostly the right favours getting government out of your face. Ultimately, it is fascism vs. Personal choice and freedom.
“Because the European Union was made to prevent”
It hasn’t prevented anything. It’s been a massive failure from the get-go. Now is the time for people to wake up and realize that governments and bureaucrats are not going to save them.
And I thought it had already fallen with global warming or ah climate change or co2 or methane or….
After all they know what’s best for us or at least the best way to pick our pockets.
Yes, the global versus national/regional struggle is inevitable, simply due to the reduction in transportation and communication costs.
However, even though some sort of global arrangement will evolve, I think it should be amongsst consenting nations, not transnational organizations unattached to a physical territory or populace. Any governing organization must be kept honest by the possibility of being held to account at a lampost or window.
Well said Linda. Globalists do not understand people wanting freedom and apparently neither does Captain Wise. Lenin and Trotsky dreamed about a global government under communism, Globalists dream about a global government headquartered in Geneva. Communists and Globalists (Marxists) have the same dream.
Canadian Observer, Martin, and Metis Girl, exactly.
Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson are heroes in the mold of Nelson, Wellington, and Churchill.
It’s good to see the leftard-progs having a doom & gloom hissy-fit, and probably wetting their panties over seeing democracy in action. They obviously believe that it’s a “travesty” when democracy doesn’t go their way. It’s going to be even better when Trump wins this fall.
Some of the most troubling aspects of the post referendum analysis are the comments by the leftist-progs who truly believe that a travesty has been committed by people who are too stupid to have voted ‘correctly’ and that the results of the referendum should be overturned by people smart enough to do what’s best for Britain. It’s increasingly obvious that these people only believe in democracy when it furthers their goals and that it can be put aside when it suits them; for the greater good of course. That is truly scary and does not bode well for the future of democracy.

It’s good to hear Delingpole — I’ve read his work often, but never heard him before.
Also, Toby Young. To me, he is always an author who wrote a fascinating book, which I read and couldn’t put down. (“How To Lose Friends And Alienate People.”) There aren’t too many authors like that around.
Simply put … I absolutely LOVE this guy ! He speaks the TRUTH
